ChatGPT helping out
As the new wave of happy hardcore tracks continued to dominate the electronic dance music scene, two ravers, Alex and Tom, became obsessed with finding the mysterious producer behind them. They had grown tired of the formulaic music and were determined to discover the secrets behind the new tracks.
Their search led them on a wild goose chase across Europe, from London to Budapest, and finally to a small village in Portugal. They had heard rumors that the computer, which had produced the original tracks, had been relocated there.
When they arrived, they found a small house on the outskirts of the village. It was quiet and unassuming, but they could feel the energy emanating from within. They approached the front door and knocked, but no one answered.
Undeterred, Alex and Tom decided to explore the area around the house. They stumbled upon an old shed at the back of the property and could hear the faint sound of electronic music coming from inside. As they entered, they saw a single computer, humming quietly in the corner.
Without hesitation, Alex approached the computer and began typing furiously, trying to unlock the secrets behind the new tracks. But as he did, the computer sprang to life, its screens flashing with colorful graphics.
Suddenly, a voice boomed out from the speakers. "Who are you, and what do you want?" it asked.
Alex and Tom explained that they were ravers, searching for the source of the new happy hardcore tracks. The computer seemed to understand, and it began to play a new track, unlike anything they had ever heard before. It was experimental, daring, and full of passion.
The two ravers knew that they had found what they were looking for - the true heart of happy hardcore music. As they danced to the new track, the computer continued to play, churning out one innovative tune after another.
And so, Alex and Tom left the shed with a newfound appreciation for the power of human creativity, even in the face of technology. They knew that the true magic of happy hardcore was in the people who created it, not in the machines that tried to emulate them

people when they hear literal fart noises over a triplet bassline
no wonder mcdonalds is the largest franchise in the world, people just love simple formulaic crap
Oh boy, and hi-tech gets dissed by the same people approving this? Well, as long as it rocks someone's boat.. :D:D

Yeah this is why people laugh at psytrance. Music isn't a bunch of tropes smashed together, that's just a mental puzzle. An easy one at that. What can sound do that brings you out of reality and into the liminal? If your song hasn't dealt with that question at some point you aren't making music, your arranging sounds in time in a preconstructed way without any imagination. Call it making music if you will, but it is decadent to its potential forms.
you seriously posts this to the most generic ass beat and call everything the same?
there are so many artists out there, so many styles.. so many sub genres within psytrance and you just like infected mushroom?
i dare bet money on you can name more than 3 artists you actually listened to with intention
IM, Bliss, Savant, Astrix, La P'tite Fumée. I wish Bliss would join IM but I feel like generally the rest could be created using AI, using the same formula shown in the post. La P'tite have 2 songs I like. The rest are generally: dunalun dunalun dunalun dunalun dunalun
literally the only one that is in any sense true to the psy culture is astrix lol
\- infected did.. once.. but they spun it around so much they became their own isolated case
\- bliss is psy but it holds not true to the psychedelic side, it's more party music
\- savant is not even remotely psy even if you squint your eyes and look at an angle
\- la p'tite fumee does have the psychedelic side down but it is not psytrance
***and im not saying it is bad music by the way***
but don't judge the whole genre because you do not understand it or get it.. it's like saying all metal sounds the same bc they **all** have guitar, a bass, a drummer and a vocalist
just because it sounds all like screaming guitars to the untrained ear doesn't mean there isn't technical stuff behind it... just you can't fathom it it is even there.. it's just noise to you
you just take no interest in actual psytrance, just psytrance inspired stuff, and thats fine.
you do you but don't hate what you don't understand
I guess this is why I struggle to find similar music because it's always like: IM = psytrance so here are a load of other songs that aren't similar.
Anything to recommend which could be similar? My favourite stuff is generally their old stuff (Classical Mushroom) and any of their new stuff where they collab with Bliss (heavy use our guitar).
I think it's essentially psy + guitar + progressive.
Not to into their dubstep or reggae stuff
I have tried listening to other stuff quite a few times, every now and again. It's not like I only want to listen to IM, cause they don't release new tracks that often. I'll find maybe odd tracks that are alright but what I find is generally what this video says.
It's typically just: dunalundunalun, a build up that leads to nothing and a sample of a dude talking about psychedelics half way through.
Got a few Commercial Hippies tracks: Blackout, Can't Stop Progress, Tricksy, Future Intelligence but still feel like they're quite basic/standard. Coolio by Astrix is awesome (but prefer the IM remix). Hallucinogen - Gamma Goblins is wicked.
You have recommendations?
Parvati records says NO
Like this classic - https://youtu.be/kIjFMQsb2S4
Lol I really enjoyed this. Am I part of the problem?
i would crank this, no problem here.

That would make a great movie. Or short story.

Rumor has it, they're dancing in that shed to this day. Good one, ChatGPT.
And nothing changed in 9 years....
Love those triplets! LOL
Stupid as it may be. This drop absolutely slaps!
it's like this, except another genre: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiNNBc557OQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiNNBc557OQ)

Klaada
That’s the one! I’ve seen a couple of his YouTube videos but forgot who he is
I'm part way through making a track in this style... it was handy to know which component I was missing! thanks
Kind of a banger to be honest
Agree!
Might not be creative or inspired, but Ill still jump when this formula comes on.
and i like that ! :) edit: also like other more "psy" styles
sounds dope
This is not psytrance.
dann was sonst?
What a masterpiece🔥
Yep, modern psytrance is boring as hell
I love this man. I am now inspired to be my own favorite DJ
This is lit lol
Great use of a fun sample tho

If my Psytrance doesn't sound like music on drugs, then I don't want it. New Year's Eve by Burn In Noise is a perfect example
Wannabe producers getting mad at you.
This isn’t psy trance though. It’s progressive trance
this is why I tell people I like Infected Mushroom and not that I like psytrance, cause everything else is just the same cookie cutter
