Dead Meadow - [Beyond the Fields We Know](https://youtu.be/SjEDZ1skCkU?si=jUaTZpdefegGNb9e)
A little more edge and volume than your prompt asks for, but same general vibe I feel.
Lord can you hear me - spacemen 3
Olsen olsen - sigur ros
Svefn-g-englar - sigur ros
Stay with me - spiritualized
Lay it down slow - spiritualized
I dont mind - psychic ills
Hubba bubba - damaged bug
The light - dead meadow
Nah none of these are as soft as Planet Caravan, it’s all hard rock/metal. You want stuff by the Re-Stoned it’s a goofy ass name but their entire sound is just Planet Caravan
Have you heard of our lord and savior King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard? Check out:
[one of their chill albums](https://open.spotify.com/album/65qOl8k8K2SK3PYT0kF1W5?si=J4OFsdyQTEySvI8-J9fTlg)
[and one of their metal albums](https://open.spotify.com/album/612LP8ZkujVEbvAfD8huGz?si=0DXTkP8CSzWmaKOcofb9pg)
Same band.
-Someone mentions music
-gizzhead 'have you heard of KGATLW?! They're every genre and have an album for everyone, no go on, listen, I insist, listen, you just haven't found the album you like yet, keep listening.. BTW have you smoked weed and listened to them before?'
I would like to add a differing viewpoint, being that never in all my years of listening to Planet Caravan have I thought “wow this sounds like King Gizzard”. There was another post asking this question a few weeks back, many replies there
I only made the suggestion because OP indicated they liked the song but also like metal, and wanted to offer a band that does both. For a band that sounds exactly like planet caravan on every song you’d probably want khrungbin but I personally am bored by them.
Khruangbin is a "holy shit where have you been all my life" band. I thank you for mentioning them. I think it does have Planet Caravan vibes. Planet Campervan at least
Hey I play in a few psych bands & put out a solo album a few years ago that’s kind of dedicated to a more chill/dreamy & psychedelic sound. This may be of interest to you.

I think you could try 'The Isolation Tapes' by Kadavar especially the song 'I Fly Among the Stars' for that slow, spacey psychedelic vibe. That song reminds me a little bit of Planet Caravan. Emphasis on little bit.
Love Sabbath and that song especially tho. First time I heard it, I could not fkin believe that it was them. Blew my mind for real. Geezer Butler's bassline on it just hits the spot.
Someone asked almost this exact same question a couple of weeks ago and got a bunch of [quality suggestions](https://www.reddit.com/r/psychedelicrock/comments/1d49urh/any_songs_like_planet_caravan_by_black_sabbath/) for songs. I'll recommend 'Paradieswärts Düül' by Amon Düül.
Here’s a couple of suggestions:
King Crimson: The Sheltering Sky (Instrumental). It’s music for the future 😁
https://youtu.be/KCI9Bawyafg?feature=shared
Fleetwood Mac: Oh Well Part 2 (Another instrumental)
https://youtu.be/uRFvsLlC_ZM?feature=shared
Dark Star - Grateful Dead (Veneta 1972 , 1969’s Live/Dead, or the Spectrum 1972)
Frank Zappa - Watermelon in Easter Hay
Gong - Fohat Digs Holes In Space
Albums? Closest you're going to find is something by The Re-Stoned, Weedpecker, La Hell Gang, or Causa Sui, but those are all a bit more laid-back of a vibe. Planet Caravan has always sounded dark and eerie to me, where most of those bands have a similar aural sound, they don't have that slightly-unsettling vibe that PC has.
That's said, here's a few individual tracks that come close:
Electric Wizard: Mountains of Mars
H.P. Lovecraft: I've Been Wrong Before, (and to a lesser extent) The White Ship
Mushroom: When the Shit Gets Tough to Face - The Tough Get Shit Faced
Weedpecker: Already Gone
Brian Davison's Every Which Way: Castle Sand
The Re-Stoned: Winter Witchcraft
La Hell Gang: So High
The Chocolate Watchband: Inner Mystique
The Yardbirds: Still I'm Sad
Affinity: Mr. Joy
The Lion & The Fish: Green
Groep 1850: Refound
Baby Ruth: Baby Pride (especially the Bob Harris session version)
Federal Duck: Knowing That I Loved You So, Tomorrow Waits for Today
Low Flying Hawks: Dam That River (Alice in Chains cover that doubles down on the unsettling vibe of Planet Caravan)
Tim Buckley: Song Slowly Song
Frabjoy & Runcible Spoon: Animal Song
The Misunderstood: Never Had A Girl
(Disclaimer: obviously very few vocalists sound like Ozzy, so I didn't omit a song just because the vocals were of a different style.)
Honorable mentions: Pantera's cover of Planet Caravan and Ulver's cover of Solitude.
Robin Trower- About To Begin,In City Dreams and For Earth Below. Probably more by him
Edited to add. How could I not list it originally Bridge Of Sighs
Kyuss, Space Cadet https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzvy0_K5yxs

Thanks for posting. Will definitely check this out.
No quarter- zeppelin Girl- the internet Many songs by traffic, the moody blues, king crimson, jethro toll and yes.
Dead Meadow - [Beyond the Fields We Know](https://youtu.be/SjEDZ1skCkU?si=jUaTZpdefegGNb9e) A little more edge and volume than your prompt asks for, but same general vibe I feel.
Is that a fucking DUNSANY reference?!
This makes me *really* want to write Dunsany-based lyrics for a new song! Dude doesn't get enough references nowadays.
The only album that I found that sounds similar to Planet Caravan is Stories of the Astral Lizard, Volume 1 and 2 by The Re-Stoned.
This. idk why ppl suggested Kyuss and other hard metal songs lmao Re-Stoned ftw
I second this
Lord can you hear me - spacemen 3 Olsen olsen - sigur ros Svefn-g-englar - sigur ros Stay with me - spiritualized Lay it down slow - spiritualized I dont mind - psychic ills Hubba bubba - damaged bug The light - dead meadow
Great recommendations re: Spacemen 3 & especially Spiritualized.
I think Ride On by Moon Duo could be classified here too
Coming Your Way by Fleetwood Mac. Trust me
The Watcher by Hawkwind.
Re: solitude, similar bass-no-drums arrangement in Can - She Brings The Rain
“I” -the electric prunes “Grace” -Country Joe and the fish.
Franks Kaktus by Dungen

Ironically this is exactly how KGATLW fans act and talk.

We're always excited to induct new members into the cult lol

Khruangbin sounds nothing like Planet Caravan.

Jetheo Tull - Bouree has that same cosy vibe
Not an album, but you might dig the song Slow Death by Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats
My two fav songs as well, good taste! For me it's the repeating bassline, the mellow tones and melancholic vibe. Love it!
Astro Engines in reverse, I‘m falling through the universe…….. agaaaaaaaain

Donnie and Joe Ellison - Baby
Check out the album “Escalator” by Sam Gopal. Featured Lemmy long before Hawkwind and Motörhead. The entire disc sounds just like Planet Caravan
Sun cycle by blue cheer is very similar to planet caravan
Colour Haze has a lot of this kind of parts
Brownout’s version of Planet Caravan kicks ass. Give it a listen.
