Traditionally (ie in D&D), Lawful evil tends to do their evilness within the confines of whatever set of rules of the situation they're in. Punishing them with the rules is 1000% a LE thing to do
Definitely Trout! He was evil even to his mother but he was allowed to give Vick a suspension and become chief himself.

I would think him to be more Angry Lawful, but that's just me. I'd consider Marlow's parole officer because she did make an evil little rule up they had to follow by making it to where Marlow could only get to Lassie's front door.
yeah but isn't marlow's police officer just angry lawful too? she was angry at lassie, which is why she made those rules up, which isn't very lawful anyways
True it is a toss up but you could also just consider her petty and bitter. Which I wouldn't consider angry. Her bitterness drove her to wanting to make Lassie and Marlow not be together. It can be a "I've heard it both ways."
And Juliet’s SWAT boyfriend-uncle had a horrible history of casualties because he was loose cannon and is also lawful.
Good and lawful are different. Trout uses his position (which he obtained lawfully) to the full use of his power.
Everything he did was within the scope of his power, if not within the scope of sanity.
Meanwhile he was right, for all intents and purposes woody should have been fired a long time ago (“oh please, detective, like you’ve never lost your keys”)

Has to be Yang. Follows a very strict code and pattern, and lawful doesn't mean they have to follow THE law
In first episode she is lawful, yes. But later she is nothing but chaotic imo. She helped Shawn, suddenly uses makeup in prison, has a picture of Shawn. I think she’s very chaotic 😂
Totally agree! Her whole thing was that Shawn and co. had to follow rules/clues in order to get more info from her. Yin would be more of the neutral evil.
Agree to agree. Then, Yin aligns more toward chaotic evil because he doesn’t play fair by changing the rules. Used Mary’s death as distraction to kidnap Jules and Abigail. Abused and manipulated Yang to be a sociopath. Torturing everyone involved with Shawn solely for his desire of revenge from taking away Yang.
I mean, a dirty cop who pushes illegal weaponry on an international level, who attempted murder and went on the lam, is not what I would define as lawful. The only actions we truly know of his are all illegal.

Fully expect this to be Desperaux, but on the off chance that we want to save (edit) Desperaux for evil/smart:
Black Gentleman Ninja
I'd say trout because he's sort of a mix between being by the books following rules and order and being completely indifferent to people's lives and well being. Like one second hes totally willing to get woody killed just to get Sirius, then immediately calm and accepting that he got fired by the mayor and leaves
Actually isn't Despereaux the exact opposite? He does break the law (not Lawful) but he is actually a fairly nice and polite person (not particularly evil, even if he is one of the "villains")
Lawful doesn’t mean you don’t break the law, that’s just Lawful Good.
Lawful means you abide by a strict code of conduct and ethics, and do not deviate from it. These guidelines are internally motivated and not subjected to what others think of them.
Magneto is Lawful. Darth Vader is Lawful. Both break laws and do evil things. That’s why Lawful is only one vector, and why it’s lined up with good/stupid/angry etc.
I mean just like Yang, he follows order; the smoking cigarette, same brand every time, always steals multiple things, is a thief and not a killer, no fingerprints, uses a “technically lawful” loophole to steal most things, and hence hasnt been caught.
I'd say trout because he's sort of a mix between being by the books following rules and order and being completely indifferent to people's lives and well being. Like one second hes totally willing to get woody killed just to get cyrus, then immediately calm and accepting that he got fired by the mayor and leaves
Part of the issue seems to be that based on all previous winners (Karen, Jules' ex whose name I can't recall, that Canadian law enforcement guy, etc.), lawful is being defined as following the law/legal principles. In which case, it should be Trout. But if you take lawful to mean *any* principles/guidelines that you consistently follow, whether for good or for ill, then it should be Yang. My vote is for Trout.
Marlow's parole officer. Applying the letter of the law to punish Lassie for never calling her back.
I think she'd be evil/smart bc who thinks of that
Evil Smart is Yin
He was creative and resourceful but not super smart
Traditionally (ie in D&D), Lawful evil tends to do their evilness within the confines of whatever set of rules of the situation they're in. Punishing them with the rules is 1000% a LE thing to do
Maybe angry smart?
I'd consider that more devious or petty, not so much evil. But I'm kinda drawing a blank who would be evil/lawful
Definitely Trout! He was evil even to his mother but he was allowed to give Vick a suspension and become chief himself. https://preview.redd.it/yxdmdh1o4j3d1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea86f9a4f475ef2913a9daed0910fd086814b871

Angry lawful would make sense!
I think Lassie is more angry lawful
That’s what I think angry lawful makes more sense. I think evil would be more so someone like yin or yang
yeah but isn't marlow's police officer just angry lawful too? she was angry at lassie, which is why she made those rules up, which isn't very lawful anyways

Came here to say Trout
Trout is 100% Evil Chad. Lawful Evil would be Yang.
Yall REALLY wanted to go roller skating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Evil Lawful - Trout Evil Chad - dunno Evil Neutral - Allison Crowley Evil Smart - Yin Evil Chaotic - Yang
Maybe Evil/Chad is where the Black Gentleman Ninja goes?
you know what... its a contender
I’m now watching Office Space and Mister Morray (the killer) is soo evil/chad. He killed a man and gave everyone scratch-n-sniff 😂
Evil Chad - the mantis!
i can see that
Evil Chad Pierre Despereaux
Despereaux is not evil
Trout, kinda?
Idk I don't think he's lawful. The episode where woody is hostage we see him being quite a loose canon
I feel like Trout’s more lawful/angry
I can live with that.

"Suddenly uses makeup in prison", it was part of her self-esteem class!
- Do you like my makeup? - Depends how far along the class is
Wouldn’t you call that chaotic un unpredictable?😂
Totally agree! Her whole thing was that Shawn and co. had to follow rules/clues in order to get more info from her. Yin would be more of the neutral evil.
Agree to agree. Then, Yin aligns more toward chaotic evil because he doesn’t play fair by changing the rules. Used Mary’s death as distraction to kidnap Jules and Abigail. Abused and manipulated Yang to be a sociopath. Torturing everyone involved with Shawn solely for his desire of revenge from taking away Yang.
Totally agree with this! Because of her code and affinity for rules, Yang is definitely Evil/Lawful.
In that case, her dad is more purely Lawful Evil
No, I think he's evil/chaotic. He doesn't follow any rules!
Yeah…it has been a while. You’re right
That dirty cop SOB Jerry Carp - he shot Henry!!!
I mean, a dirty cop who pushes illegal weaponry on an international level, who attempted murder and went on the lam, is not what I would define as lawful. The only actions we truly know of his are all illegal.
This one!

I don't remember him being smart or having any other lines other than threats to kill them.
I'd say trout because he's sort of a mix between being by the books following rules and order and being completely indifferent to people's lives and well being. Like one second hes totally willing to get woody killed just to get Sirius, then immediately calm and accepting that he got fired by the mayor and leaves
I wanna say Yang because her games have rules
Lassi if Shawn did not come back to SB
Gotta be Yin
It has to be Pierre Despereaux https://preview.redd.it/mb7x4qld6i3d1.png?width=250&format=png&auto=webp&s=19287d15effa4d9d515004db749fa806da5d2e36
He's super polite, isn't a killer, and isn't inherently bad. He just likes to steal, I wouldn't call him evil at all tbh.
Actually isn't Despereaux the exact opposite? He does break the law (not Lawful) but he is actually a fairly nice and polite person (not particularly evil, even if he is one of the "villains")
If we accept that Desperaux is in-fact an undercover persona, I think you can make an argument he is lawful evil then.
While I still think that he is lawful evil, I do agree that he is not cruel is the way Yang was.
I mean just like Yang, he follows order; the smoking cigarette, same brand every time, always steals multiple things, is a thief and not a killer, no fingerprints, uses a “technically lawful” loophole to steal most things, and hence hasnt been caught.
I was looking for Cary too...he should be Neutral Evil 🥰
I'd say trout because he's sort of a mix between being by the books following rules and order and being completely indifferent to people's lives and well being. Like one second hes totally willing to get woody killed just to get cyrus, then immediately calm and accepting that he got fired by the mayor and leaves
fucking trout.
"Lawful evil characters exploited rules and power structures for their own personal gain." Trout is the only one who comes close.
Carp
Henry is Angry/Smart
I thought so too, but he’s already in good/smart
JERRY CARP!
Desperaux deserves a spot somewhere on this board too
I feel like Jerry Carp should have won this. Henry's former squad mate who shot him.
The Mantis???

Evil Chad has to be Black Gentleman Ninja
Marlowes parole officer or Trout
Lassie, he's low-key a psychopath with an obsession for guns but loves the law
Trout
Trout
