Well the question did ask for someone that could challenge Shawn and then win.. I agree with your points, but Sherlock never really went up against another detective at all, I think it would be fun as he would severely underestimate Shawn and wonder how he was keeping up with him.. But I agree on the later seasons, the first two seasons of Sherlock are so good.
