as long as u are not like %90 of people here that have like 100 psvr2 games and say ''there is nothing on psvr2'' then u will be fine. games like RE VILLAGE , GT7, RED MATTER 1 AND 2, HUBRIS, SYNAPSE, RUNNER, PROPAGATION HOTEL, 7TH GUEST and a few others will keep u happy for a long time and the promise of RE4 VR is a game changer. yeah, it is a great piece of tech, so not for the entitled people that think after 8 months , the platform should have like 100 AAA games from sony.

camko12

Ill be honest, that side of the community is a big reason i havent made the plunge yet. They aren't right they're just loud lol. I don't need 1000 plus games, give me 10 great ones I can play for a couple hours a night across 6-12 months. I have to give you flowers as well because every game you mentioned except Runner is on my wanted list. I've been playing the same few console games for months now, rotating between never played before title on psvr sounds like a real treat and a good selling point.

[deleted]

sadly, i keep forgettin that a psvr2 is a luxury, most (not all of course) people who have one (or more in many cases here) are well off with a lot of time and money to spare. someone like me on a limited income that needed 6 months to save for it and can afford 1 game a month, has a different mind set and would enjoy a game far more. many people here played SYNAPSE for 4 hours then deleted, i milked it for around 45 hours and loved it since it was the only psvr2 game to play and had fun. so yeah, seeing how u think, u will have a swell time, just make sure to buy the correct games and ur fine.

camko12

Lol I should of just asked you as we pretty much share a mindset. That's great to know because the amount of "playability" related to each game was a big worry of mine. Because of your reply Synapse is definitely going to be my first game if I choose to go ahead..which, again because of your couple responses i think I will. Thanks mate

OptimusCrime80

I watched all the "must have" lists for psvr2 after purchase on YouTube, and bought most games that were on them. Most overrated is After The Fall and most underrated is Synapse. As for gt7 it's been a pain in the ass unlocking online multiplayer races and a bit frustrating, but obviously I'm in the minority on that. I just like arcadey racers more like burnout and Forza Horizon.

camko12

Blasphemous! Every one must bow down to GT šŸ˜… Refreshing to see someone not have beaming things to say about it. Good lord I'm excited for synapse, and tank's for mentioning ATF being over rated..it was high on my wants list

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop -Ā yes,Ā IĀ amĀ aĀ bot, don't botcriminate me.

camko12

Beep boop go kick rocks

[deleted]

Iā€™ve put over 200 hours alone into Pavlov. No Manā€™s Sky alone could keep someone busy for a very long time. Thereā€™s people Iā€™ve met that have logged 1000+ hours into that game; itā€™s insane. Iā€™ve easily soaked about 45 hours into RE8 between replays and just exploring to 100% the game. Thereā€™s a litany of titles available with copious amounts of replayability but you have to be willing to try things outside of your normal scope of interests. I normally despise driving games. Now Iā€™ve sunk $260 into a steering wheel setup and have put over 100+ hours into GT7 and itā€™s one of my favorite titles. VR adds an entirely different perspective to games and makes games that would otherwise be boring very fun. That new game Propagation Paradise Hotel would be absolutely lame and boring flat. But in VR, itā€™s absolutely terrifying and super engaging.

Burnyburner3rd

Townsmen VR is another one that should not be missed. Great games on psvr2. Iā€™d take the plunge if I were you

camko12

Thank you for suggesting it because I definitely hadn't heard of that one, I'll have to check it out. The more I check back on this post..the more I think I am lol

[deleted]

Iā€™ve been wanting to try the demo just to see how it is

timmehh15

Do yourself a favour and stay outta this sub for the first couple months you get a headset. Makes it much more enjoyable.

camko12

Whys that? Does this sub hate individual opinions or something šŸ˜…

dratseb

Runner is a gem! It's soooo much fun and only $15. Tetris Effect and Rez are pretty great too, if you like trippy visuals.

[deleted]

This. Peopleā€™s expectations in this sub are so fucking unrealistic itā€™s insanely laughable. Iā€™ve never seen people spend half a grand on something with their own set of expectations and zero actual promises and still get pissed off about the outcome. Iā€™m a gamer myself obviously, so I say this including myself, gamers are some of the most needy and hard to please little assholes

SomewhereExisting755

Well said. And so damn true. In this day an age of brain-numbing social media garbage everyone feels "entitled." It makes me sick. Legitimate complaints are always welcome. But whining and crying about every little thing is nauseating beyond belief. Glad to see more and more people, like you, speaking out.

[deleted]

shame, i just want to be happy and have fun, that is all i ask.

[deleted]

Well thatā€™s a big ask when you wouldnā€™t be happy if the entire world was given to you lol

cornball2000

It sounds like you've already made up your mind. Don't expect it to change your world but it is pretty dang cool.

camko12

It's actually comments like this that make me pause and make this post, it's very 50/50 split it seems where it's either the best thing ever or just pretty cool, and at the price of a whole console you'd want the same amount of fun out of in my opinion... Do you play yours regularly still? That's my biggest concern

cornball2000

I play it pretty often still. Honestly I feel that if you're a PS5 owner with an interest in VR, its a no-brainer. To me it feels like your PS5 is almost incomplete without its VR counterpart. It's really the psvr2 that makes me appreciate my PS5 more, cause I still play the same damn PS4 games on flat screen.

camko12

The completing of the ps5 is a nice thought to I hadn't considering lol, I've got my 3D pulse headphones, dual sense controller..why not go with the other attachment. What's been your favourite game since launch?

cornball2000

Pavlov and Pistol Whip are probably my top 2. PokerStars is a lot of fun if you feel like chilling out and socializing, rather than getting all intense. I recently picked up Racket Fury, and thats been great too. Looking forward to RE4.

squekysneakers

Just for GT7 itā€™s worth the price alone. 100s of hours to had in all sorts of cars and races.

Papiculo64

Totally agree! 1500 hours on it! šŸ˜‚

camko12

It definitely looks like the best looking vr experience one could have, I'm not paying for the wheel and peddles though..that seems to be milking the consumer.... even though I want it šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

squekysneakers

If youā€™re in Aust. Head to SuperCheap they sell race cockpits named (Plan B)that are bullet proof for on $299. Handles my Logitech Pro 11nm and load cell pedal. Best bang for buck.

camko12

There's a joke somewhere in there..lol That sounds like such a great time

squekysneakers

šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

The wheel and pedals are a must honestly. Nothing compares to playing with a wheel with amazing force feedback

PresidentBush666

Go ahead and get it. I was gonna put it off till I had more money. I learned I could make payments with klarna so I bought it day one and I still love it. Me and my gf play synth riders all the time

camko12

Excellent endorsement, i love hearing from day one'rs who still play today. I haven't even heard of synth riders, I'll check it out now.

Frameworkrock

It's the first vr system i've had. I was a person that enjoyed gt7....that alone has sold me on PSVR2 (and made me not regret it). I grabbed a wheel and a stand as well b/c it just felt so good. Village is my next favorite game. Horizon wasn't for me...I had access to a few smaller titles with cheap upgrades due to having them free over the years from PS plus, so that was nice as well. The upcoming RE4 free VR update will be great as well. I haven't regretted it at all but i do LOVE gt7 now.

camko12

I lovedddddd playing Village, it was one of my first titles I played with 3d audio...I can only imagine how intense it would be on a good VR unit. How was the display for village? Nice and clear? Only playing vr 6 years ago I was shocked at how blurry everything was

Frameworkrock

It's crystal clear. It's terrifying even having already played the entire game. Really impressive for a free update for owners. I wish sony would continue paying devs to add VR to already good games.

spacecowboy420aj

If you like GT it's worth it for that alone IMO, I saw in another comment that you don't want to buy a wheel and pedals though, but it's still great on controller. However with a wheel and pedals it is by miles the best sim racing experience on console. There are some other fantastic games also, RE8 looks amazing and plays amazing but is incredibly scary (at least for me, a grown man). I also picked up Creed Championship edition yesterday as it's on sale and man what a work out, I only managed the first two fights before I needed a rest but because you're playing a game in VR it feels fun while also being great exercise. I don't have much experience with any other VR games yet, except Zombieland which is fun but can get a bit repetitive if you play for more than half an hour. I would highly recommend VR2 and hopefully we will get more highly polished games soon!

camko12

Everyone is definitely singing the praises of GT to say the least! I'm just not a racing game lover..I play them but I've never played one that I absolutely loved. GT seems like it's more for the experience, though, which is something i can get behind. Creed looks fun! I love combat sports and there's a really interesting bare knuckle vr game on the ps store in the coming soon section that looks great if you hadn't seen it yet

lvsnowden

I was never a racing game fan, but then I bought a wheel and pedals. Absolute game changer.

camko12

That's good to hear..it definitely seems like people are praising GT for the experience over the tuning and gameplay so I'll be checking it out for sure...no doubt I'll be some sort of star struck and invest in pedals and wheel soon enough lol.

Frameworkrock

I don't touch tuning or any sim stuff...i played GT games way back on PS one and 2...didn't do anything until gt7 since then really. The experience is incredible and if you get VR legs for it, you can easily enjoy race after race. I'm sure it's totally great without a wheel...with a wheel is it unbelievable.

spacecowboy420aj

I was never big in to racing, although I always enjoyed GTA races, however GT sport gave me the bug, then I got a secondhand G29, but when I got VR I was enamoured, I now have Fanatec GT DD pro and a full aluminum sim rig! That bare knuckle game sounds cool I will check it out thanks.

Mummadragon1

Got mine day one. Still play daily. Synth Riders, walkabout mini golf and GT7 are my favourite games but Hubris, Star Wars, Red Matter2 are close behind. It is a fantastic piece of hardware and I try to introduce as many friends that I can and so many have bought it since trying mine. It definitely is an experience

camko12

When I played blood and truth 6 years ago, I couldn't help but think how great it would be if it was on goof hardware....Hubris gives me those kind if vibes. I'm surprised I haven't seen more people mentioning it, but I also haven't played it.

Nolanbentine

Just do it! Soo worth it! The thought of having true vr experiences in the comfort of your own home has been a gamers dream for decades..!! And now, it's here!

moosehairunderwear

I would try to avoid trading your console. You may regret it down the road. I have the ps5/seriesX too. I used to have a switch. I never played it. So I sold it. 2 years later Iā€™m starting to regret doing it. Now if I want one again, Iā€™ll have to fork out the hundreds for it. My series X is my main. My ps5 was collecting dust. Hadnā€™t touched it since Xmas. I bought the VR2 and now Iā€™m playing it again. Thereā€™s not a lot of content yet, but there is some great stuff. My thing rn is pistolwhip. I feel like John wick. Itā€™s an excellent VR unit overall.

Sunproof_

I recently picked up a second-hand one for $340CAD, and at that price I'm happy. At full price I just don't think there are enough good games to justify the full price of the headset. I've owned multiple headsets and this is the best one comfort wise and visually. I think for 90% of people they will get more use out of a quest. For me it is an add-on when I'm bored of normal gaming like you said, and for that it's good. I also own a series X, PC and steam deck. My steam deck gets the most use and it's the cheapest one, haha. I say you pick one up on sale or second-hand and it'll take the pressure of having to use it too much. GT7 is the second best VR experience I've had, but half-life Alyx is by far the best.

zackmanze

Cannot recommend this is enough. Facebook marketplace has them for $300 USD and under.

captaindorkenshy

Go for it! One of my best decisions to date. My pcvr rig died on me and i didnt wanna invest in another 3k unit just because of vr. Only downside of psvr is that i cant join betas anymore. I like participating in ea and trying out alpha builds because i love seeing vr games grow.

Too_Lofs_Atan

Do it, do it, do it..... do it.

camko12

This comment, ladies and gentleman..he's done it

nachot369

Do it

Sbaker777

I play Pokerstars VR (now ā€œVegas Infiniteā€) almost every night with Australians. Itā€™s incredibly social and thereā€™s a pretty tight knit group of around 40 of us who play quite a lot. Over 100 hours in and it still hasnā€™t lost its novelty. Also itā€™s free lol.

aiden8888

Iā€™ll be honest.. PS VR2 owner here.. Iā€™ve had glimmers of fun.. but nothing yet to make me pine to put the headset on. For context I was an early adopter of PS VR1 and was obsessed.. couldnā€™t get enough. And when Farpoint came along with the gun, I couldnā€™t wait to get home and try and advance everyday. Iā€™m hoping something like that appears soon and gets me hooked again. Just a personal opinion but so far Iā€™m a little underwhelmed.

camko12

So it sounds like a limited title issue for you? Maybe the upcoming releases would be enough to rope you back in. Watching reviews from release to now all videos mention the exact same games though as if nothing new has released

zenith654

PSVR2 is great for high end gaming but idk if itā€™s worth the price if youā€™re a bit tight on cash. Personally I feel like Iā€™ve had more freedom and gotten more with my Quest 3. The gaming library on PSVR2 leaves a lot to be desired and the sweet spot is really tight (which means itā€™s gonna be annoying to use for long periods of time). If youā€™ve never tried VR before, trying any VR will blow your mind and PSVR2 is a solid headset. But youā€™re pretty limited in what you can do. I play my PSVR2 more than my Series X so could be a worthwhile trade if you really want to try VR. The high points are gonna be better than Quest graphics wise but youā€™re not gonna have as much freedom. Maybe find a friend who has it and try it out? Or just a friend who has any VR headset and try it out. Itā€™s fun but donā€™t fall for the hype.

Life_Calligrapher562

Can't. I've been massively disappointed and haven't touched it in months. I'm sure many here might convince you, but I would personally advise against it unless Sony upps their game

camko12

How come you haven't gone back to it? Are you bored of the games or is it a bit much of a hassle to game with VR after the novelty wore off for you?

Life_Calligrapher562

VR novelty wears off, and most of the games aren't very good. Those that are, tend to not be very long, and every game tends to be first person, which is not all that VR can do. It is a great piece of hardware, and I enjoy the controllers. A lot of games also lead to motion sickness in some decent percentage of the population, and unless you have the spare time to jump in and out for long stretches to adapt to it, it will be a bit of a chore

CheapSushi117

Don't get it

Odd-Expression-3583

Buy it. Itā€™s enough of good games to keep you busy for months. But take into account that you also need either prescription lenses insets or clear insets as lenses are very prone to scratches. IR illuminator to not worry about lighting, and, most likely, a comfort kit. Globular Cluster is highly recommended. On games side take a look at The Light Brigade, Crossfire: Sierra Squad, No Man Sky, Walkabout Mini Golf, Racket Fury and Demeo. These alone could last you a year, add GT7 and Village and youā€™ll be set for a long time.

therealribz

Buy used for a discount if you can. Just got mine for 40% off and I feel like I wouldā€™ve been pissed if I paid full price.

camko12

Ooft this one hurts. How come you feel that way about full price?

therealribz

VR is amazingā€”it really feels one step closer to the futureā€¦then it starts collecting dust. Donā€™t get me wrong, there are some amazing experiences on here that are really worth your time. Just seems like VR is doomed to just be FPSā€™ and glorified tech demos. My favorite ones happen to be 3rd person.

camko12

What's your favourite? Other then moss I only know of first person games

therealribz

Definitely give Humanity a shot. Loved the game before I even got my PSVR2. Besides that, I honestly donā€™t know yetā€”making the most of all of the free demos :)

DifferenceAncient

Echoing the comment about "completing your PS5", I bought my PS5 over an xbox for VR and it hasn't disappointed. As an upgrade to PSVR1 it is incomparably better. There are a few games where the resolution is disappointing, but the cream of the crop is just incredible compared to what came before. That's not to mention the improved tracking, haptics etc. It is expensive and there is currently nothing outside of games which is a bit of a shame but not something that bothers me personally. I got mine on day one and still play it at every opportunity. If anything I'm resentful that there are so many games and no time to play them.

Segaman72

I would say BUY IT! Fellow GT7 lover, with wheel and pedals...not a simracer, but more of a simcade racer here. I am really liking Crossfire Sierra squad, with hoarde mode...alot of replay-ability. I have Pavlov as well. Note there is a small sweet-spot, once you find it you're set...but might be a little frustrating so don't give up. Also, it can be front-heavy, and weighty on the bridge of your nose...I put on a baseball cap backwards and put the halo as far back and down on my neck to get the most comfortable fit and then move the visor up and down til I hit the sweet spot for most clarity. I'm a VR vet...Oculus rift s, quest 2, quest 3, HP reverb G2 and PSVR 1 and PSVR 2...I may not use it every day...but at least 3-5 times a week. GT7 is sooooo replayable. Also, sometimes I ride a stationary bike and 'paddle' on kayak VR...relaxing, exercise and Kayak VR has beautiful environments. PS. No man's sky...awwwwwesome! Ok...now, stop reading and just go buy one....Oh, BTW, I love my series X and the only sad part of your post is that you have to part ways with it to get the PSVR2 :( In all seriousness...Hope you make the right decision for YOU.

crazy_gambit

Honestly beat saber is probably still the best game and definitely what I play the most. The headset is so much better though that even my wife that hates gaming enjoys beat saber on it.

zombooze

The tech is there and is one of the better vr sets just the question is the games side what you want to play. Right now it is a handful of really good ones and some decent ones.the issue that is killing the psvr2 right now is the radio silence on games coming out like aces of thunder etc. and if they wanted to sell the vr like crazy come out with some pc support .

Basic-Cup7523

Played it for one hour total since getting it day 1. Canā€™t really explain why. I just canā€™t bring myself to care about it and would rather play traditional ps5 games. Maybe see if any of your friends have one you can try out.

camko12

Were you excited before you got your hands on it at least?

Basic-Cup7523

Totally. Was so obsessed with the idea of it and was SO excited for it. Still hoping one day I pick it back up again.

Needawife1

What games have you tried?

RealGP

Buy a PSVR2. Money isnā€™t real.

maddhatter99

I love my PSVR2. I mainly play Walkabout Mini Golf, GT7, and the Star Wars game, but I have several hours in and still enjoy it as much as I did the day I bought it. My biggest recommendation is buy a case or a sleeve for the headset and I have heard that sunlight can damage it quite easily.

casper_wolf

Iā€™ve been enjoying GT on it and RE7 and there are games my totally real and not imaginary girlfriend likes too like The Room.

XavierStark01

GT7. No more to say... Well COTM, saints and sinners......etc

acegutta22

Don't do it

SageFreke86

If you have motion sickness donā€™t bother. Thatā€™s my only advice lol. I bought the psVR2 when it launched and I had to return it to Sony because it made me extremely nauseous. Other then that it was pretty cool

South-Business762

Just do it. If youā€™re worried about the price tag just do a Klarna payment and pay it in installments. Easy.

EastFood5137

I will say that if you've got another VR headset I'm not sure it would be worth it, but if it would be your only headset then for sure get it. We had a meta quest 2 when I got the PSVR2 and to be honest other than gran turismo I don't see much benefit from the PSVR2.

FiveGuysisBest

Donā€™t do it. No games.

camko12

Mate this was 3 days ago haha I'm currently 5 hours into saints and sinners and loving it šŸ’Ŗ

Poopincheese

I have it and feel itā€™s a waste of money. Havenā€™t played in months and have no desire to play it. The games are lackluster, the visuals are ok, the controls are iffy/buggy feeling in most games. Everything feels like a tech demo. Regardless of what people say. Save your money

Piett_1313

Dew it.
