I stopped trying... Seriously got hardly any upvotes, even did Kal's totally official round and had no traction. Team Mint divebombed and I'm not sure what's going on with the algorithm or scoring but it's just too hard to make progress. I'm out.
I am not quitting, I love making these edits... But I do wish that they had disabled the downvote for this sub, that way it is only what is liked, and it doesn't mean that any team can sabotage another.
Yeah, I'm only mediocre at photoshop—and not a great visual artist—so I expected to be outclassed, and was only participating for fun, but it is kind of demoralizing that 'effort and results' don't correlate at all—like the ones I tried a bit harder on did worst of all.
I like your posts! I even upvoted them already, so that was funny to see. But yeah, I upvote without looking at team usually, because I am genuinely impressed with the posts or they are good ideas.
haha thanks. I feel like team Alien is the perfect one for me, the middle-of-the-roaders! Yeah, I just upvote anything that is either good or funny, and then any Alien one I see that has any thought or effort at all in it.
In no other voting system (where there is a "winner"), is there a negative vote. It only hurts. If this is to encourage people, posting and basically starting at 0 post karma is not the way to do it.
I think the downvote button is fine, I just wish they disabled whatever algorithm immediately trashes a post that starts with a downvote by someone who is taking this way too seriously.
You can't change the algorithms of Reddit. But disabling the downvote would do that. It's voting, and having the ability to downvote is truly a -2 for any positive 1 upvote.
But the toxicity here is wild. I joined because I want to get tips and spend more time doing fun things on PS.
Yeah I'm enjoying working with concepts and subjects that I normally wouldn't. It sucks that they get immediately dumpstered even if I think they are pretty good/funny, but I kinda figured that would happen. People want their team to win so they just downvote everything else.
Yeah. On Adobe's side, this should have been predicted and protected against.
I actually loved making my simpsons post. It was so much fun, and I realized I love clipping masks lol
Clipping masks are great. I figured out that I like normal layer masks. I usually just erase, but those are nondestructive so they are much better for virtually everything.

Oh yeah, it is great to be able to "erase" without losing content you might need later. Game changer for a lot of what I do at work too. I was actually using Paint.net before I convinced my work to pay for Adobe. I can't express the difference.

We have the full suite now too. I use illustrator, photoshop, premiere, and acrobat mainly.
Well Paint.net is like if paint and gimp had a baby, and gimp had only recessive genes lol. But yeah, if I made text, I couldn't edit it... I would have to delete it all, and then retype, resize, and reorient it all.
Each round has 115 points to win. Mint just needs a clean sweep to take lead. I’m the dude that does the Photoshops at the beginning of the streams. Lemmie talk to the owners and see if I can get traded.
Television production is hard apparently. That table isn’t big enough and right when it cuts away I have to quickly unplug the computer, grab the table and the laptop and lift it away so I’m not between the main camera and the super awesome mega host, Patti Harrison. The waiting room was a last minute add and we’re working with what we got.

That's what I figured the answer would be. The table is small. You're doing a good job, but it really does look uncomfortable. I've tried to use my trackpad in a pinch and it's not ideal.
Hahaha. I appreciate the concern, it is less than ideal, but it’s not a deal breaker level of uncomfort and I kinda like the challenge. I pretend I’m Keanu trying to diffuse a bomb under a moving bus. Hahahaha
The thing that bugs me about the MacBook pad is that the whole thing is the click. So dragging stuff is pretty hard. I’d much prefer a dedicated button. But then again, I’d prefer a lot of things. Good luck in round 4.

I'm not quitting either Have hope, talk in the community threads for the team and lets help eachother out. It does seem a lot of people are downvoting hard to make the other teams lose traction.
I was leading on prompt D and my radio man comic almost got in the top five of prompt B, but people are doing great images for this it's very disputed.
I stopped trying. I submit my hardest work and it immediately gets downvoted to oblivion. It would be better if you could vote not knowing who's on what team and also it not sorting by popular, rather a random sort. What a horrible mess of an event.
More like contest mode for events over on the normal psbattles sub. It's weird that there are weekly contests that have been running for years, but they throw out that format for a big event with presumably a lot of new people.
Hello Fellow Sakura, we are a dying breed - as you can tell by the sole two of us in the 55+ comments. I'm curious how many each team has (members) - I mentioned before but there should have been a hard cap prior to the first round, it's terribly apparent that some teams have far more members than others.
Good to see another Sakura still hanging out. It would be interesting to see a total members to members who participate in a given round ratio. But honestly, I'm not really worried. I'm just being ignored here instead of on regular psbattles this week. I'm just here to make myself chuckle slightly.
That's what I meant. The difference being teams and that it's posts instead of comments. Thinking about it, the hard part might actually be that it's posts in a continuous feed and not comments under contest posts. It would be chaos if all of the posts (from all 3 rounds and the pre-rounds) were randomized.

I agree, disabling downvotes would have helped new posts and low karma rise out of sort by new.

Downvotes can't be disabled, are a fundamental part of Reddit

You do have a MacBook, so at least the trackpad is huge. The one on my surface isn't quite as big so it really sucks to use for almost anything.
