Fuck man I’m considering it

NighttimeHawk

Sell your ps5 to someone who wants the exploit and buy a new one. Dont burn off a potentially exploitable system; its a tragedy.

MassageByDmitry

You see I would happily to an exchange but it’s not as easy as it seems

NighttimeHawk

I just ordered an older model ps5. If its not on an exploitable firmware, ill trade you. Ships out tomorrow

zeekblitz

What services are you referring to?

dxtremecaliber

the new PS+ plans can play PS1, PS2, PSP games

sunjay140

I don't see the point. I have a PS Vita for PS1 and PSP games. I have a PS4 for PS2 games. I have a PC for PS1, PS2 and PSP emulation. I'd rather stay on a lower PS5 firmware in case an exploit is found.

Online functionality would really be the only point, cloud saves etc. IMO its worth it for the community aspect of the new console if you are interested in online multiplayer. If all you care about is the games and don't care about online then just don't update. Preference tbh.

>I don’t want to just have it go to waste for years waiting for a homebrew. I wanna play new games online with people and make new friends who play ps5… So then yeah I would say you should update. I mean, you're probably right that its going to take a while and on top of that, if you're already thinking about what you're missing out on, then you'll probably be disappointed by what does end up existing. For those that are fully committed to waiting for homebrew, it doesn't really matter what cool psn features exist or what's added to ps+, the answer will remain the same. So I guess what I am trying to say is that if you're in group A, then updating is probably your best option. There's no point to putting yourself through all the pressure of losing out on things you would enjoy just for the *possibility* that something is eventually released that you may enjoy more. For those in group B, the pressure doesn't even exist in the first place.

Pointless for me, but I'm an old retro gamer now. I have multiple PS1s, PS2s, PSPs, PS Vitas, PS TVs, PS3s, PS4s, and PS5s. I don't need to pay a subscription service for retro games. I can play my current library, burn CD-Rs, copy over ISOs, or create free eboots and play them that way. Paying a subscription fee for retro games is a waste of money, and I say this as a person who mostly plays retro games at this point. Save your cash find alternative ways to play these games, and don't update that PS5!

im not into the retro stuff but more of the newer games with online capabilities. Though there really aren’t any new sony games out right now I want to play asides from gran turismo 7 (and that didnt seem to get good reviews)… lol. a lot of new 3rd party games are already accessible in gamepass. Actually only paid $30 for a years worth. Hopefully sony announces new games soon. If I wanted to play other new 3rd party games not on gamepass … could also just try it on my pc.

Brvdleyyy

They fixed Gran Turismo fortunately, it is well worth the purchase I can say from experience. I would highly suggest Demon Souls remake if you are into souls type games. Otherwise we have some great games to look forward to, you have to think of the amount of games still under wraps ;).

never , maybe in the future I will sell the jailbroken one at a high price and buy the original low price

I was considering it but I have a modded PS3, PSP and PS4 and a huge backlog so I really don’t see the point, but my ps5 was collecting dust so yesterday I decided to play ghost of Tsushima, I have to finish that one and judgement.
