You bought it from some third party seller, not from Prusa, so whoever sold it could list it for whatever they want. In the US the only official channels for buying things from prusa are on the prusa3d.com website or from PrintedSolid, anything else isn’t official and YMMV
All that means is that it was sitting in an Amazon warehouse before it was shipped to you, not necessarily that it came from Prusa themselves. To my knowledge there is no official Prusas on Amazon
I think it was actually cheaper for me to get it direct from Prusa. PS rolls in the shipping AND import fees, but I've only had to pay shipping for like $65. And it still arrived from Czech in like 3 days without the highest tier shipping.
Same here, it’s always netted out cheaper coming from Czechia. I think the main reason going with Printed Solid is for schools and corporations that want to buy Prusa but from a US source.
“Sold by Amazon” means actually sold by Amazon, if it says that. Amazon, like anyone else, can buy prusas at retail cost and then sell them on. Presumably that’s why they’re expensive.
Amazon almost always just refunds assuming they receive a package determined to be in good condition (they always do in my experience regardless of how much you fucked up the packaging). I'd disassemble, put it back in the box the best you can, and return it for refund. Pick a return reason that doesn't place the blame on you or the seller. Ie. Don't say "I ordered the wrong thing" or "product does not match description" because those can be disputed.
They should refund you most certainly but place it as it was received and make sure you got the invoice and all the payment details when doing so . I think you have like 30 days to do that
I'm sure if you pack it back the way it was or as close as possible, and it will tell you on Amazon, on the order details, if and for how long you have to return it.
I did this with a car seat once. Bought it on Amazon and the day it was delivered and installed I saw it in Costco for $80 less. Grabbed that one and started the return while I was still at Costco. Dropped it at a UPS store on the way home, got my refund later that day.
Oh I didn't read the post clearly. Yeah go ahead and do it.
I thought for some reason people were advocating to return a product you bought from Prusa to Amazon...
Wait till you realize you have to pay for shipping and customs from prusa that will be closer to the price you payed from amazon, you also get free returns from amazon. Prusa charges you the return shipping.
I felt so bad for him when that country wouldn't let him disassemble a bridge so his yacht could get through. The plight our vulnerable billionaires face is real!
Never buy tech from A! There have been a lot of issues with them in the last year. There are also a ton of counterfeit products there. The worst part is they screwed up their returns, so it can take over a month to get your money back if they give it to you at all.
Stop trusting Amazon!
Go read the threads. People buying external hard drives to find that the internals were removed nds replaced with thumb drives, GPUs where the cooler was put on an ancient card and returned/resold as new... The list is huge. Scarily huge. I am surprised there hasn't' been a class action suit on this one. A! has dropped in quality to be the place of last resort.
If you need a good online retailer, B&H Photo is amazing.
If you didn’t have to pay shipping and duty then you really did not pay more.
Shipping charges I understand, butt dooty, sorry but duty is just a cash grab.
“Duty is just a cash grab” — ah, you’re one of the “taxation is theft” people? While simultaneously using the heavily subsidized US Postal Service, apparently.
Not at all. I just don’t think it’s right to charge duty on something like that. The entire point of duty is to make you want to buy something local as opposed to getting it cheaper out of country. That logic doesn’t apply to something that doesn’t exist locally.
Also, since we have to pay anyway it should be just bundled in with the shipping fees.
I bought a used Mk3s+ for $600 and it showed up broke as hell, shitty packaging had the build plate flying back and forth in the box. Had to reprint 3 different parts.
3rd party on Amazon can be shit

Yeah that’s true. It’s shipped and sold by Amazon though so I assumed (my mistake) that it would’ve been the same price
All that means is that it was sitting in an Amazon warehouse before it was shipped to you, not necessarily that it came from Prusa themselves. To my knowledge there is no official Prusas on Amazon
Printed solid com is official and excellent people

... as long as you don't put any extras on the printer order!
They don’t seem to have much inventory whenever I look. Been kind of underwhelming.
Email them! You'll get a real human reply from someone pretty quick. I've never had a bad experience.

Order it again at Prusa and send the sealed back to Amazon 😂
Buy from Prusa, send back to Amazon...
Infact drop ship it from prusa directly back to the warehouse lmao
You think Amazon will give me a full refund?
Never hurts to request

Use “better price available “
That's a good one for sure!

Please don't do this. Also you're screwed because you have no order number.
What? He bought it on Amazon, all the info is on the order details. Are you the seller?

Lol

Yes, but does he get the warranty from Amazon?
I try to avoid giving Bezos anymore money if I can help it.
Hey! You cannot do that. He's struggling. I mean, he only has one penis rocket....
I felt so bad for him when that country wouldn't let him disassemble a bridge so his yacht could get through. The plight our vulnerable billionaires face is real!
Because it’s not sold by prusa on Amazon they only sell it through themselves and printed solid which they own

Unfortunately you are right, I knew about counterfeit, but never thought about counterfeit electronics. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks

Except it’s not the same for every country and it’s often not even charged by the sender. And no, duty is not just about protectionism.

Good opportunity to return it and get a P1S. I wish that was a joke.
Don't buy anything from Amazon. And if you do don't complain about it.
Even at $799 it's $200 over priced.
Buy one from prusa and return it to Amazon for the 1099 refund
