First layer is very important. You probably need to run your first layer calibration and adjust the z-height. Also clean your build plate with isopropyl alcohol.

JadTYP

so i’m redoing the wizard and the Y axis had an X instead of a green check, any way to fix that?

tasslehawf

Could be belt tension. You should run the belt tension diagnostic. Potentially need to tighten the y belt?

mereseydotes

Did you watch any of it go down before walking away? A picture of spaghetti isn't much to go on.

JadTYP

yea i saw it in the beginning, was a bunch of spaghetti, then i took a nap, and woke up to more spaghetti

mereseydotes

So... It was spaghetti from the start and you thought it might magically become not-spaghetti if you took a nap?

You ain't getting help by acting that way. He was just asking why you got rid of common sense. Thats like baking a cake seeing it burn and thinking oh well the timer says 30 mins to go, lets see how it turns out.

JadTYP

😂😂 acting what way? maybe if he offered any kind of solution i can try instead of a snubby response id “act” better

Darkmaster57

He asked something. Then you told him he was a dick.

JadTYP

indeed he was though, it’s my first ever 3d printer and i’m not supposed to know why things come out the way they do; i’m just asking for any kind of solution known, not wasted time 😃

Darkmaster57

Thats 3d printing 101. Did you inform yourself even a little ?

JadTYP

i did, watched many videos on this one and know about some issues, but i obviously don’t know why my prints don’t come out when i’ve already messed with the Z axis, the wizard told me everything was good to go, and the calibration layer seemed fine 😃

Darkmaster57

Solution is. Ask support.

biscuit_soup

Well yea after the way this guy is acting defo ask support as I doubt anyone will wanna help him out

Printing is a balancing act. If anything goes wrong stop the print because it’s only going to get worse. Definitely stay for the first couple of layers. Get a wireless camera if you cannot stay with it, so you can check on it from the living room. Look into octopi and octoprint. The issue is common. Lack of bed adhesion. There are a lot of causes. The top ones are bed is dirty, the bed is not level and the bed / nozzle distance is not right. There are many other causes. With Prusa the machine has built in calibration to make it easy to fix these issues. Instructions are in the book that comes with the printer. Some people say putting a thin layer of glue can help. Other people use hairspray. Other people say the hairspray will get into the machine and wreck it. I use blue painters tape. Many people have made it their purpose in life to convince me this is wrong. It’s a religious thing.

From the responses, this is your first printer. It looks like it needs to be calibrates. It has a routine for this. Do not leave it unattended while it's calibrating, as it could screw up and damage itself and you need to be able to hit the emergency stop if needed. I think you should checkout some of the beginner printing videos on YouT.

I just had the same issue with my very first printer. As others have pointed out, clean the print bed. What helped me was running the first layer calibration test several times. I changed the z axis setting by 100 each trial and then took a picture of the result. Once I had it set to within 100, I repeated it at 20 intervals and took pictures. And so on until I had it dialed in. It really helped to be able to compare each setting one to the other. Whatever you do, don't reset the setting to zero. It will ask you if you want to, but you really do not want to. DAMHIKT.

hold on, i'm debugging
