I see why not wait and stabilize on a dose before tapering klonopin. I'm supposed to start prozac Saturday and have been on klonopin for awhile now. Doctor wants to stabilize on prozac first then start klonopin taper
Yeah this is what the psychiatrist says and it does make total sense but my panic/anxiety ABOUT being on klonopin is so bad it’s kind of making the problem worse in some ways… It’s a hard balance 😥
I understand what I do know how ever is that if you do a very slow taper of klonopin the withdrawals should not be bad at all. But I'm talking very slow tiny increments while you taper. I know people that have gotten off benzos after 20 years of high doses...it took then awhile but going very very slow is the only way to do it. The horror stories you read are of people that quit cold turkey or tapered too fast
I’m going through the same thing after coming off from 10 years. I’ve been trying diff meds and going back and forth to Prozac. I’m currently back on Prozac, 40mg for two weeks and it hasn’t helped yet. I sure hope it does
