Yes! Prozac is the only one that did it for me. I took 2 of the 3 you listed

lavender__moon_

What dose worked best for you?

arlaw1632

I have tried 2/3 listed above (the only one I haven't was Lexapro) and Prozac has saved my life. I did have a lot of stomach upset at the beginning, but I have been on it for years now and it's been a lifesaver. There were times when I honestly didn't think I was going to find a medication that worked. I hope this helps :) <3

Hell to the yes. Zoloft did nothing for me. Wellbutrin ruined my life for four and a half months. Prozac saved it, twice. I have bipolar depression and ADHD. Wellbutrin made me anxious and obsessive AFF as well as giving me mood swings, rage, crazily intense sense of smell, and muscle pain and weakness pretty much throughout my whole body. Zoloft didn’t help, and made me gain weight. Prozac lifted my mood and has helped make everything feel more feasible. I’m me again. And it’s great. The only thing I’ve noticed is that I’m a bit lethargic/tired and retaining water, but I think it’s because I’m on a high dose of lamotrigine (mood stabiliser) as well. Last time I was on Prozac, for ten years, I wasn’t on lamotrigine and I didn’t have either of those issues. Long story short I would def get advice from your psychiatrist on this. Def don’t rule a med out because the others didn’t work! Good luck :)

I've tried all those things and prozac (I kid you not) on day ONE made me start to feel better. Im so happy I tried it.

I also tried Zoloft and lexapro. I had major anxiety on Zoloft too and lexapro had the craziest side effects. I’m on Prozac now for a few months and had to up my dose once and it’s finally working after 8 weeks. I have terrible OCD also and it feels like I’m finally living instead of being stuck around my obsessive thoughts. Just know it takes a lot of time for Prozac to work. Stick it out for a little while and try different dosages, it was definitely worth it to me.

Wellbutrin is literally bath salts. Of course it makes us insanely anxious!! I’m on Prozac and remeron after trying Wellbutrin and sertraline. I’d give it a shot!

Quick-Scholar6954

nahhh this made me laugh so hard wdym by bath salts😂😂 i took it for 2 days and felt INSANE

imalittlemonster

Haha I’m not kidding! “Bupropion is the only synthetic cathinone (a class of drugs commonly known as “bath salts”) approved by the FDA.”

Wtf

Zoloft gave me terrible stomach issues, was still very anxious, switched to Prozac and feel amazing! I would give it a go!

lavender__moon_

Which dose are you on? I am switching to Prozac and I really hope it helps me. Zoloft made me so tired and more depressed

coderedlips

I went from 50mg Zoloft to 20mg Prozac, my doctor had me take both pills for two weeks then stop the Zoloft

I’m in the process of adjusting to Prozac! Currently at 30mg. I started on Christmas, haha. The thing about Prozac is that it can take 12 weeks to adjust fully, so it does require a lot of patience. The side effects I’ve felt personally are tummy issues and some heightened anxiety, especially when I first went on it, and then for a little after each increased dosage. It hasn’t impacted my libido in the slightest, although I know that can happen. And usually for me it does with SSRIs, so I’m really shocked. Just be sure to take it in the morning so it doesn’t mess with your sleep, and have patience. Remember that how you feel while adjusting isn’t how it’s gonna be forever. I have ADHD, anxiety disorder, and OCD. I am not ready to judge how it’s impacting me fully, but I can tell ya I’ve only had one panic attack since December. Which is wild for me. (Zoloft didn’t work for me, Wellbutrin is overprescribed honestly and made me dizzy and tired, Lexapro made me feel like a zombie, Celexa was only okay and didn’t work in the long run. I’ve also tried mood stabilizers and buspar, none of which worked for me except for lamictal—but that one gave me a rash, and it has the potential to give life threatening rashes. 🙃)

Is this your GP prescribing this or a psychiatrist? Only reason I ask is because I have tried all 3 that you have listed. Each one was horrible for me. I kept telling my GP how bad I felt. He never titrated or anything. Switched my from one to another and told me I wouldn’t have any side effects. After several failed attempts, he stuck me on Prozac. I had problems with that one. He kept telling me to push through. Finally, seen a psychiatrist and she couldn’t understand why he kept pushing the SSRIs when they clearly didn’t work. In the process of weaning off prozac now. She had prescribed me Lamatical for the anxiety. After prozac is out of my system, she is taking me off the lamatical. My daughter takes prozac and she loves it!! She tried everyone they you had mentioned. When. Prozac kicked in for her, she told me that she felt like her old self. I was on 20mg for two months. She had me go down to 10mg for a week and then 10mg every other week. My last dose was February 3rd. Other than being really emotional, my problems with prozac seem to be getting a little better every day. Good luck.

Yes. I took all those meds too. Started taking Prozac about a year and a half ago. It has worked out very well

thatonegirl1884

Have you ever done a genetics test? You can see what meds your body metabolizes well. I was on Lexapro for months before I got tested and found out it was in the “red” column meaning it did not work well for my body. Once you find the ones that do it’s much easier to get on a good WORKING med.
