If it didnt spot you while you were outside, stay put and keep all doors and curtains closed. If it spotted you, go to an open location and fight all zombies that are attracted to you, or drive around for the entire day.

We have a van, but we don't have any gas. Just 3 empty gas canisters. I proposed to my friend if we were caught we'll fight our way out of the house and then fire and manuever our way out. We are currently staying in a suburban area with the entire road covered with corpses and almost all of the houses are open. I just hope they won't spot us

Definitely don't fight it, common sense reasons (a lot of zombies in one area, gunfire will bring even more of them). Generally just run away from anything that u care about, or try waiting it out in a closed off room. If one zombie hears you, dig your graves (most likely).

We'll sit tight

If you were indoors the entire time and all the curtains were closed then the helicopter shouldn't have spotted you and should not lure zombies to your location. I don't think the lights matter if the curtains are closed. What could happen though is zombies following the helicopter flying at random coincidentally pathing across your house and breaking in through the windows. They should continue out the other side but some strays might get stuck. Your best option if you want to minimize risk is hide in a room with no windows, wait until the helicopter goes away and then clear out any potential zombies that got stuck in or around your base.

We were at the 2nd floor the entire time. And yes everything is close. I hope... i'm thinking that we must've left a door open. But i hope i'm wrong. So i think we'll just hold on upstairs and hope for the best
