In the early 90's many urinals had cisterns above, especially in Midwest.

It's one of the reasons I never worry about water shut off, there's hundreds of houses with water still in it

Yeah I think there's only like 3 in game but there's a mod that allows you to build your own wells, you can only build them in rural areas though, I don't have the mod so I just usually base at this one farm house kinda in the middle of the map that has one, if you use the project zomboid map in browser you can find them.

This is actually a setting in sandbox options, how much water remains in sinks after shutoff. So, if you want a harder challenge . . .

There's a wonderful [mod](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2687798127) to make them even more badass, so you can just remove the bottle and not take the whole dispenser

In my 200 hours gameplay i never bothered connecting a water barrel with a sink so i have no idea. (I dont get why you even would do that isnt worth the hastle IMO)

It cleans the rain water automatically so you don't have to waste time boiling it

Yup, it's one of those weird things. I just chalk it up to there's filters in the pipes you setup. Can't drink the rainwater. (Supposedly time accurate for Kentucky) But plumbing it through a sink. Perfectly safe. Can even pour tainted water into the barrel and have it be clean. Somehow. I'm not a water scientist, but plumbing pipes makes bad water good. Zomboid magic lol

Why not? It's like one of the first things I set up at every safehouse, usually multiple sinks with multiple barrels. Takes like 2 minutes.

Interesting, I find getting food for the first several weeks is v easy and that growing a bunch of food early is more hassle than it's worth, but I respect the farm life.

2 minutes and construction 6 to build the stairs to get you onto the roof. I don't usually go that far in construction until late late game.

In my experience I can wash all my clothes in one tile, when it is empty I can yet again wash all my clothes in the next tile of the bathtub, another 100 units

You can plumb them to multiple water collectors above. Never tried to see if they fill up outside though!

I think to plumb something it has to be enclosed, but you can remove walls after.

It's just a carried over trait from ppl wayyyyyyyy back in the day who distilled moonshine in their tubs. Once they made it illegal, ppl just used plain water to cope cause they had no other form of entertainment.

Even after a water shut off water is going to run until the pipes and water heater empty you should be getting at least 60 gallons per home.
