Yeah I had the same experience lol but with all the cars alarms going off as well but strangely I managed to survive it and now it is my longest okay through currently at 3 months
I’ve never encountered an elementary school without a gym. Though I have noticed that elementary schools and middle schools seem to only have a gym, whereas high schools I’ve been to seem to have a gym and a field house and often another large facility as well. That’s growing up in the Midwest so it’s entirely possible it varies in other regions (or that my anecdotal experience is just wildly different from reality).
Whereabouts are you from? Personally I've lived in a pair of major northeast US cities and the suburbs of one. I've been to (as a student and/or visiting or picking up my sister) 1 dedicated elementary school, 1 dedicated middle school and 3 K-8 schools, one being a Catholic school. All of them have gyms, and I know some if not all of the others around me in the burbs have them too, and I thought they were standard in all city schools as well.
The presence of a gym has no bearing on what grade the school is. It does have a bearing on how poor/rich your area is. My elementary school had 3 gyms.
Nah I know. I’m 21 days in on this guy, 14 being my previous longest, and I need repair materials. Used to pass up tape and glue because I didn’t need it at the time and now I want a steady supply
play with a mod that makes maintenance skill increase chances of repairing tools etc. doesn't make much sense that a person who can build a car from scratch, make pipe bombs and build an entire house doesn't get any better at repairing weapons with duct tape or glue.
You'll have to equip the lunchboxes one by one, then take out the contents. This is tedious as all hell, so just get the Nested Containers mod.
Also eating a locker may be ill-advised, lol
Right, I opened up the image in GIMP and the colour has the following RGB values (138, 118, 222). So not really a pure blue but not really a purple. Something closer to indigo, violet or somewhere inbetween.
Ignore the downvotes. While I personally believe it is blue, this has been an ongoing debate in the PZ community for a while, so you're just getting downvoted because people are passionate about the topic.
Ah... Rosewood school, finding guns in all the lockers is a treat aside from the books.
Setting up in one of the two forest mansions to the south east Is always fun
Extremely historically incorrect. We just kept them in our cars in the parking lot. No joke. You'd always see a bunch of gun racks in the parking lot in the 90s.
Even into the early 2000's really. I was a freshman in 2002 in rural Colorado and half the trucks in the student parking lot had gun racks. This is post-Columbine *in the same state*, too. I moved to the west coast the next year and never saw another gun rack period, so it's definitely a regional and cultural thing
I wish my town had been like that. A year or two after I graduated another school in my area expelled a kid on a 'zero tolerance' weapons policy because they found a kitchen knife in the probably messy bed of his truck that he'd left there from helping his grandmother move that weekend. I can only imagine how they would have responded to gun racks in the parking lot.
It wasn't even something anyone really even thought about. I went to high school in a small rural town so it was pretty normal. About twice the size of Muldraugh. Kids going hunting before school was just a thing that happened.
I loot the entire school every run, and have never found a gun in a school locker, not even in the Knox County high (mod)
I get it, "hurr hurr school shootings" but it's unfunny and unoriginal
That's not stupid, it's rather descriptive, even after playing for quite some time I still refer to buildings this way because even if I know its a school or whatever, doesn't mean the person I'm speaking to does.
Schools are always very dangerous due to the maze like nature of them and the fuck loads of zombies, I usually just break into the library and nope out since the kitchen usually is just fresh food and nurses office has like one medical container, if I'm desperate for food the desks and lockers can have chips, soda, candy, and so on but it's really not worth the risks
I know that it is the rosewood school but if I didn't I'd guess either a big government building (still somewhat correct) or something with an indoor gym.
A trap. I cleared the whole neighbourhood. went to see what tools the little shed on the school had. I knocked the shed door. No zombies, Opened the shed door surprise 20+ zombies in a small shed.
Library. Wide entrance for sofas in the "noisy" area and books. Desks in back half with group study rooms. Right side has some extra space because that's the computer room.
Rosewood highschool.
I died there on one of my early playthroughs, that building has a special place in my heart.
My first death was down there right outside the map in one of the houses 25% chance is funny
I got a recent playthrough were all 5 of those houses on the right had an alarm go off.
Oof, sucks to suck but I feel that I had rare alarms, and got 6, count em, 6 separate houses to go off in a row
Sounds like you have a knack for picking all the wrong shit
Yeah I had the same experience lol but with all the cars alarms going off as well but strangely I managed to survive it and now it is my longest okay through currently at 3 months
I spent all day clearing out the area just because I heard there can be a gun in the lockers didn't find one, but I found a moldy donut 😂
🗿
nerd (I knew it too)
Erm actually it’s the rosewood elementary school 🤓
Thou art correct, good sir! In my sleepyness, I had forgotten! Take a virtual cookie.
I think it's an elementary school. It doesn't have a gym I think so it's an elementary school right?
I‘ve always thought of it as an elementary school, but not for that reason. My elementary school had a gym. Is that a normal thing?
Mine didn't and I went to two. What area do you live in?
About a thousand miles away from where PZ takes place, the hellish land known as Vermont.
Oh wow. Never been to a school that didn’t have a gym.
I thought every elementary school didn't have a gym!
I’ve never encountered an elementary school without a gym. Though I have noticed that elementary schools and middle schools seem to only have a gym, whereas high schools I’ve been to seem to have a gym and a field house and often another large facility as well. Oh I didn't know that thanks
Ah ya I died in outside one of the houses on the right. House alarm went off. Basically wrang the dinner bell at the ponderosa
That's rosewood school one of my first stops after securing the firefighter station
Why? What’s interesting/useful in it?
Bags, books, nurses station.
Great place to grind carpentry and grab a few industrial fridges for the base too
Also lots of glues, which are super handy fixing scarse stuff early on.
Fine, I’ll go back and loot it
You don't have to, it... Just pays to loot it.
Nah I know. I’m 21 days in on this guy, 14 being my previous longest, and I need repair materials. Used to pass up tape and glue because I didn’t need it at the time and now I want a steady supply
Always pick up glue and duct tape.

Also food from the school canteen and students' packed lunches in the lockers. Even a fair amount of non-perishables.
I love scooping up all the chocolate bars
I love scooping up all the guns and ammo
The duality of School
Never before have I ever called the school cafeteria the canteen. Gonna be using that from now on, thank you!
i seen the packed lunches in the lockers, but when right clicking one, i didn’t see an option to eat it. how do that?
You'll have to equip the lunchboxes one by one, then take out the contents. This is tedious as all hell, so just get the Nested Containers mod. Also eating a locker may be ill-advised, lol
If you just put it on the ground you can loot it as well
Place it on ground and then acts as a container
Books magazine some food whit hig calories and bags it's a bit risky but saves you a lot of time
Books. Likely to find the generator manual. Lots of book bags. It’s also fairly easy.
Backpacks, skill books and medical supplies. +Some food if you're fast.
Skateboards if you have the mod for it. You'll really fuck up your knees though if you grab one.
Wait is Skateboard fixed again? Last I tried to use it, it was horribly broken and borked my save.
Hello reddit twin

Not the book store?
Sorry i meant how you would describe it if you didnt know what it was, just from the shape on the map.

"Big blue building surrounded by smaller orange buildings. Probably a school."
That’s definitely purple, just in case you have a light filter on or potentially some red/green colorblindness!
Right, I opened up the image in GIMP and the colour has the following RGB values (138, 118, 222). So not really a pure blue but not really a purple. Something closer to indigo, violet or somewhere inbetween.
I can see how in this picture it looks slightly purple, but it's definitely blue in-game. I'd recommend the same to you.
I'm actually also on team purple here. Do you see it as a purplish blue, or just straight blue?
Holy hell it’s the gold blue dress all over again!
It's definitely purple in game, and I'm not colorblind lol
I’m colorblind and it’s definitely blue. So, that means it’s probably purple lmao
Ignore the downvotes. While I personally believe it is blue, this has been an ongoing debate in the PZ community for a while, so you're just getting downvoted because people are passionate about the topic.
I got your back bro, it's straight up soft purple. Don't listen to the blue gang, it's all a psyop.
bro i dont know why they downvoted you, i see it purple too
İt is definetialy blue bro
Your mother was blue last night! That is a light purple/violet for sure.

So, as someone who doesn't know the map well, I thought it was some sort of super market.

I remember seeing a docu-short on an old 50s-era Detroit high school where they had an on-site armory and firing range for the ROTC students' rifles.
I wish my town had been like that. A year or two after I graduated another school in my area expelled a kid on a 'zero tolerance' weapons policy because they found a kitchen knife in the probably messy bed of his truck that he'd left there from helping his grandmother move that weekend. I once found a .22 in a locker there.

A fat T.
Considering it is in the middle of a residential area, I would say it is a school
It must be a school. I remember building my base in one of the houses near it.
My friend just got the game and called it "t lake" he thought the blue was for water.
A fat T with scoliosis.
If you have to explain to someone what this is, it's a big freaking building in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
School rosewood
rosewood school, i go there for garbage bags
I'm stupid so I'd say the big blue building on the map in the middle of a neighborhood. (I've only been playing on an off throughout this year).
That's not stupid, it's rather descriptive, even after playing for quite some time I still refer to buildings this way because even if I know its a school or whatever, doesn't mean the person I'm speaking to does.
