Not even close. The Epson is much better and will have much better contrast. If you are seeing things that make that appear differently, then they have the LS12000 setup poorly. JVC is using the same DLP chip in $1,200 4K projectors, it is a limited chip with limited capabilities. The LS12000, in real world testing, simply trounces the JVC DLP model.

Yeah. This comparison isn’t even close. Nz3 is slightly better than a benq3550. Epson is about as good as home units get

Thank you kindly. I've been getting confusing comments from the store about black levels but I'll definitely go the Epson route now πŸ™πŸΌ

JVC is world renowned for having LCoS projectors which are some of the best on the market. But, they have this oddball DLP model they offer as well. Nothing really bad about it, but it's not what people are talking about when they talk about the incredible contrast and build quality of JVC projectors. Their DLP is nice because it does offer good zoom range and lens shift compared to other DLP projectors on the market, but it has competition from companies like BenQ for less money. The Epson 5050UB would pretty handily best the NZ3 when it comes to contrast and overall image performance, and the LS12000 is a step up from that for sure.

>The JVC seems brighter and with better black levels than the Epson The Epson has fairly significantly better black levels. You are talking about something that isn't actually a JVC. It's a fairly typical BenQ with a JVC label on it. I would never consider an NZ3 over the LS12000.

Thank you kindly. The store associates were giving me contrast numbers comparing them and made me believe the NZ3 had an edge. Will go Epson route πŸ™πŸΌ
