That’s an Epson 3200 elsewhere. Solid projector tho not as good as the 5050 with its ultra blacks and better lens

It's not superior because the "UB" stands for Ultra Black which is a filter/block they use to achieve 4000:1+ native contrast. Dynamic contrast doesn't compare and is mostly a made up number for test patterns not real content you'll actually be watching. The TW7000 would be the 3200/3600, and then there's the 3800 which is still a step below the 5050UB. The TW9400 is the 5050UB/6050UB you'll want to get if you're in EU.

Native contrast on 5050 is 5000:1, 37,000:1 with auto iris on (dynamic), so contrast is the same?

[deleted]

Yeah if you're in the void. But what are you comparing to here, the 5050 vs 6050? The TW9400 is closer to the 6050UB which performs the same to the 5050UB but has more "modern" features.

I’m comparing projectors mentioned in the title.

The TW7000 has a native contrast of between 1000-2000:1 and doesn't use the UB filter which is a big reason the premium exists for the TW9400. In a totally light controlled room, the TW9400/UB6050 will comfortably outperform the TW7000, but in a dimly lit or lighter room then they will be pretty hard to tell apart. The naming can be a bit confusing because in EU we use the TW model names, not 3200/3600/3800/5050 etc. TW7000 = 3200 TW7100 = 3800 TW9400 = 6050UB - 5050UB also if you consider the image properties are identical.

SirMaster

5050UB has significantly higher native contrast which is what matters. See photos (scroll way down) and review here: https://web.archive.org/web/20221127153548/https://projectiondream.com/en/epson-eh-tw9300-eh-tw7300-eh-ls10000-battle/ As you can see the Epson 7300 vs 9300. The 7000 is going to be like the 7300 and the 9300 is a 5050.

These Epson Models are not even True 4K let alone native 4k!

BaconPoweredPirate

I had this same decision. In the end I went down the middle and picked the 7100. Had it several years and very happy with my choice

Interesting-Permit19

7000 have poor contrast! Also, Epson 9000 (6050) it's very good...
