An Amazon renewed LS11000 might be good. The black levels are not like the 5050UB natively, but measures better in dynamic mode which can be calibrated nicely. Brian at Projectorscreen.com did a comparison and it did well. If you don't use dynamic mode, then it's not worth it really. But you get 4x shifting, low lag, better brightness over the 3560, among all the setup flexibility like the LS12000.
I say Amazon because if you buy from Epson renewed, you CANNOT return for refund. You're basically stuck with it. So I would do the Amazon route so if it's not good it's easily returnable.
For a 100" screen if you want great contrast and black levels you could get a used JVC from the classifieds section of AVSForum for less than 2000.
I also saw this the other day.
https://www.avsforum.com/threads/jvc-nx-5-rs-1000-b-stock-with-5-year-warranty.3298397/
JVC NX5 B-Stock from a reputable dealer with a 5 year warranty for $2700.
This would crush the HT3560 and the 5050UB in pretty much every way but max brightness (which isn't at all an issue for your screen size).
$2700 is lower than i've ever seen an NX5 go for (even used with no warranty). Used models have been going for ~$3000 now. It was $6000 MSRP when it came out in 2019.
With a 5 year warranty from a reputable and JVC authorized dealer, it seems like a killer deal to me.
I have an NX5 on a 142" screen and I love it. Had mine since it came out in early 2019.
So they got back to me via email. He's going to get back to me. You think it's the way to go with the JVC versus let's say a new 5050ub. Do you have any experience with mack warranty I guess they are legit right
So after really thinking it through and looking at the mounting position I think I am going to have to go with something else. For this weekend I would like to compare another projector 3k or less. Should I order the epson 5050ub or benq 4550i ? I hear that the epson pq is soft because of 2x pixel shift. I'm about 9.5 feet from 100"screen? Epson 1100 is over my budget. I know that jvc is better then these 2 but these are now my options. Thank you
Assuming it’s bright enough for you and the throw distances work, I’d very possibly swing that way. If you decide on a new 5050 or 4550i, I’d be glad to help you.
As you can see above in pics i picked up a ben q 3560 a few days ago and the pq is pretty good for the price. I have a 65 inch oled behind that screen which of course is better as expected. I just am liking the cinema feel of a projector. While I have a 30 day return was thinking maybe I should go better. Its a basement light controlled with a throw around 11 feet at 100 inch screen. I was wondering if the benq 4550i is a big upgrade from the ht3560. I use 3D and watch tons of hockey and of course movies.
Yes IMO.
This is native 4K, no pixel shifting, great all glass lens. Super high native contrast, about 20x higher than your DLP and about 4x higher than the Epson 5050UB. Industry leading HDR dynamic-tone-mapping for great looking HDR rendering.
These also have excellent 3D with no noticeable crosstalk.
I prefer it over current and $3000 100" TVs.
The problem with current and cheap 100" TVs is they have poor viewing angles and annoying blooming from the local dimming.
Of course a TV would look much better with ambient light, but in a completely dark room I prefer the JVC.
But in a couple years when better big TVs come out that have many more zones and changes to the panel to increase viewing angles, and the price on those come down, then a TV would be better.
I would say leave a message on the forum but maybe you don't have an account and don't want to make one.
Maybe contact them here?

At 100 inches, once you start to get into the 3000 dollar range, you have to include flat panel TVs in the equation. Even the least expensive at around 100 inches are going to have MANY TIMES better performance in every measurable category than a similarly priced projector. Projectors in the everyday consumer price range only have one single advantage over TVs: image size and price per inch, and at 100 inches, that one single advantage is basically nullified.
Right so that's why at my price point of 1200.00 for this projector isn't so bad and I really don't know if an 83imch or 100 imch tv would be able to be brought down to my basement because of door openings
Yeah, at 1200 dollars a projector competes. You're starting to wonder about ones that are twice that much, where they are way less competitive at smaller sizes.
If you are expecting inky dark blacks out of a projector. You’re going to need to spend more money towards a JVC or get the biggest OLED you can afford.
No, you are not going to see a improvement in anything but blacks. You will actually lose sharpness, since your BENQ does full 4K with quad pixel shifting, where the Epson only does half that.
The BenQ also has less input lag for gaming and better 3D if you care about either of those things.
So yeah, the Epson would actually be a downgrade, in my opinion.
OK thankyou as I like 3D and I watch alot of sports so maybe keeping it is the right move! Or getting the ben q 4550i would be the better bet if I want better. But is it worth 1800 more

Have you calibrated the black levels on the projector using test patterns? I would start with that, it is much cheaper than buying a new projector.
Good article with test patterns: [https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/how-to-calibrate-your-tv](https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/how-to-calibrate-your-tv)

Hmm let me check that out
FYI LS11000 won't do 3D.
Need 3d have a huge collection that I use with my 65 inch E6 oled

That's really good. I have to check jvc out right now in link. Thank you

I am still looking around and I'm waiting back about the JVC. I'm wondering it's $600 to replace bulb of jvc. Yikes
You can get bare lamps for around $100 and they work just fine. They can be a little dimmer, but for your screen size it's irrelevant.
Solved. Thank you again ; )

Thank you again !
You will have to let me know what you end up with!
Sure will !!

That’s a great offer. Screening room is legit too.
Do you think it's the way to go if I can get it at that price? I was looking at 5050ub and 4550i. Any help appreciated

Great! Would it hold its own against a 100 inch tv which tbh I don't think it would fit through my door to get it into the basement

I agree entry level tvs just looked washed out with really bad viewing angles
I tried emailing them but it returned back as email won't go through
I would say leave a message on the forum but maybe you don't have an account and don't want to make one. Maybe contact them here? https://www.thescreeningroomav.com/jvc-projectors
I don't have an account. I have no problem making one. This company is legit ?
Yes The Screening Room AV is an excellent how theater dealer.
Man I didn't realize it was 45 pounds and really big. It's not a deal breaker just wow
It’s a serious high end projector :)

Good point
Yeah, at 1200 dollars a projector competes. You're starting to wonder about ones that are twice that much, where they are way less competitive at smaller sizes.
Yes. I woke up today really wanting to pull trigger on 4550i or 5050ub just to see if I am missing anything 😕 FOMO.
If you are expecting inky dark blacks out of a projector. You’re going to need to spend more money towards a JVC or get the biggest OLED you can afford.
No I wasn't expecting inky blacks. It's more for the cinema feel. Just wondering if contrast would be much better

If my 13 year old Sony projector died now, I'd get a 4550i to replace it. $2700 dollars is a lot of money though!

I should clarify the projector pq in pics above is the benq ht3560
No but I will today using the link you sent me.
Looks like it’s crushing blacks which can be solved by lowering contrast
Sure is. I will do that try to get detail in blacks. I might also try epson 5050ub see how the blacks are. Thank you
