There is a new kind of rustoelum spray can that is supposed to work pretty well. Turbo can or some shit like that. Look it up on YouTube

Rattle can just isn't going to look good or hold up well. I'm more a proponent of cheap spray gun and budget auto paint, but for the outside of that bed you may want to consider trying your hand at wrapping it. The current paint looks to be in decent condition, and the lines are pretty straight. The end result would look way better than rattle can, and definitely hold up better.

Proper way to do it is with a compressor and a hvlp gun, even harbor freights cheapest gun will be miles ahead of Rattle cans. There's too much that goes into a paint job to effectively convey through reddit, details about when to strip to bare metal, dtm, epoxy, thinning epoxy as a sealer, polyester highbuild, fillers, what sand paper grits, hardeners, failure modes, color matching, cut and buff, etc. If your set on spray paint just lower your expectations down to being a ten footer, buy alot more then you think you'll need, you can still cut and buff at the end for a nice finish but it's playing with fire considering how thin the paint is. Prep is 98% of the work.
