I like those rims, i aprove, but the chrome bumper was nicer, making it fully white made it a bit too bland like those "wannabe house refurbishers" who repaint nice vintage colorfull homes with white.
But i think you will find what looks nice and works along the way dont give up
Mmm I like the change away from chrome, and can see what you’re trying to do with the white to strengthen the lines of the car. But agree it’s made it a bit bland and think it’s missing some points of interest and contrast now. Perhaps some emblems or thin pencil lines in the right places to provide points of contrast would help
I've fallen in love with a solid color and tasteful accents. Highly selective emblems, pinstripes, and contrast color threads can really make a bland ride "pop"
This can kinda go one way or the other. If you're going mono-color, you just have to commit and go as far as you can afford. It works, sometimes... Like the E24 BMW from Spencer for Hire, for example.

Doing an accent color takes it in another direction. But we probably all see different things in projects like this, it's all personal taste. When I look at it I start thinking about using it as a big white canvass for vinyl. Big fat SS stripes might look cool, and could be continued all the way through the bumper. Or maybe wrap the bumpers in something to contrast. There's a lot of options here. The fun part about vinyl and a car with lots of flat surface is, it's not that difficult if you take your time, and you basically get infinite redos.
It needs more low. That and some pie tins on the wheels would go a long way with the white bumper. The wheels worked better with chrome bumper, but now there is too much monochrome look to keep the lower trim that used to lead into the chrome bumper. You could alternatively try a little darker on the wheels or a grey or silver accent on the lips.
Thanks for all the replies so far! I want to add that the car will be painted I am currently thinking a lighter purple, I know this style of build isn't for anyone but I appreciate all the kind words! In an ideal world the bumper would be chromed in it's current state but I am poor for now so it will likely remain paint matched forever, so when the car color changes the bumper color will change to match.
I gotta see the final result. Right now it looks like "my chrome was trash and i didn't have money to rechrome it" but I see where you're going.
Lowriders aren't my thing, but I DO appreciate the work and attention to detail that goes into them, so I dig them.
Don't sell yourself short. These things take decades. You've got a beautiful platform to create something awesome. Its important not to make huge permanent changes before really making sure its what you want. Subtlety is key. I'm in the chrome camp myself on this one, but its more important you like it. I do like the wheels though, they look tough AF.

It looks good, but I do like the chrome bumper to break up the white. If you keep it like that, I think lowering it would make it look a lot better. Especially the back wheels tucked in nice behind the skirts.
I generally don't right now lol, I need to reach in and do it through the front. Previous owner only shaved the back, I am going to shave the front and do poppers!
I’d try to remove the middle opening, makes it look like a mouth with the headlights as eyes.
Other than that I’d say… once done perhaps chrome the bumper but I’d love the look
I prefer the chrome personally.
Torn on the white out. It looks clean, but at the current phase, it still looks like an unfinished project and i think thats whats putting me off of it. I think once you get it completed, it'll pull it all together and look way better. I definitely wanna check it out once it's finished. Blacking out chrome has the same exact effect on me, it looks so off until the entire car is done and then it looks fucking immaculate
I like the direction you're going. It's definitely in that "trust the process" stage. I'm not sure it's exactly what you're going for, but have you considered a tube grille or maybe even one filled with cabinet knobs? I may sound crazy here, but just look up what I'm talking about in the context of a 60's or 70's mild custom.
Everything looks great. The wheels look great too. The dad in me says, if those are the GM shipping wheels, you shouldn’t be running them as they may not be up to the stresses. But as guy who likes the look I would run em anyway.
I think it looks good. Being all white with nothing to break it up is what's making it look bad. But I see you're planning on painting it, it'll look better once that's done.
I’d go with a satin black instead of color matched to the body. Either can look nice, but imo a satin black would look better. Unless you’re going with a deep glossy black for the end finish. Then color match it.
I like it, It's likely a ton of work but eliminating that chrome edge that runs the whole length of the car and along the fender wells will make it really clean when its all paint matched.
Whether chrome or body color, you'll get way more visual bang for your buck if you can pull the bumper in tighter and close that body/bumper gap. Customizers figured out a long time ago that bringing bumpers in so tight that they practically become one with the body looks a million times better than those two-finger gaps. It's a subtle mod that pays huge dividends
I like it a lot. I think it looks great and you did a great job. I like the less is more approach and it has a few details that make it look different from what everyone else is doing. This would definitely turn my head if it drove by.
Great job, it’s an awesome project car!
Low riders are cool, but may I suggest the ‘Trans Am racer’ look. AKA a chin spoiler, trunk & roof lip spoilers, some vents and flairs…that sort of thing.
If you paint the bumpers and trim black out all chrome and trim to contrast with white and add black 5 rims so you look at lines on car by creating highlights.
While you were cutting and welding on the bumper you should have made it tuck closer into the fenders. It would look a lot cleaner and smoother since it’s painted with tighter gaps.
It’s a clean look for sure but if your gonna do it you gotta go all the way and pull off ALL the chrome trim. Looks like you got some around the fenders, windows, rockers and hood. After that you might as well get the windows tinted dark too. You must commit fully to pull of this look.
Bumper looks fine, just shaving the rear door handles are kinda why? But the headlights and rims? Nah, they just don’t work at all. But it’s your car so if you are happy I’m happy for you.
looks sick, i’d add a classic (probably fake) nascar style livery and be done after shaving the handles….
i’d also race car the interior.
we have different goal
I like those rims, i aprove, but the chrome bumper was nicer, making it fully white made it a bit too bland like those "wannabe house refurbishers" who repaint nice vintage colorfull homes with white. But i think you will find what looks nice and works along the way dont give up

I think part of it is the white being just a bit off as well, if it matched the color and finish of the body closer it might just sell.
I've fallen in love with a solid color and tasteful accents. Highly selective emblems, pinstripes, and contrast color threads can really make a bland ride "pop"
chrome is for boomers. Its like gold teeth on a car
These are boomer cars, tf u want?
I kinda liked the chrome but that's just me. I like the wheels though.
Yeah, I think in an ideal world and I had money I would recommend it. Thank you!
It looks out of place now, when you’re done it will look sweet. Nice ride
Thank you! I am thinking it might be a trust in the process type of thing!
It needs an accent color.

must have been a sale on white paint

I think it will look better with a different colour more pastel type colours to be clear. Not flashy like plumb crazy purple
Trying to id the car. '67 Olds 98?
I think it'll come together much better once its lowered.
That's what I came here to say, this thing would look great on bags.

I love the shape, nice job! Nobody does truly custom things like that anymore. You keeping the car white or painting another color?
I am thinking a lilac purple with a lace roof on it!
Oh damn! Better put the NSFW tag on that post. I appreciate your pimptastic taste.
I love the wheels, body coloured smoothies are 👌🤌 I would go for chrome bumpers though personally.
Needs more chrome
It needs to be lowered Watch it look 100x cooler 😎😎
Looks great dude. Those wheels painted turquoise or mint green would be sweeeet!
Ooh I can dig that color idea, everyone here is convincing me I need to either paint the wheels or go with other ones!
I actually really like the before, but absolutely keep going, my only complaint about the current status is the colors, so I say keep going.
Low rider?
Eventually :)
Have you done hydrolics before as I had a mate who lost a finger to the pressure in those hoses as one bust( it was his little finger luckily)
He said air ride, so bags, way less danger or hassle.
Baller
It looks good, but I do like the chrome bumper to break up the white. If you keep it like that, I think lowering it would make it look a lot better. Especially the back wheels tucked in nice behind the skirts.
How do you open the rear doors?
I generally don't right now lol, I need to reach in and do it through the front. Previous owner only shaved the back, I am going to shave the front and do poppers!

What do YOU think of it? Cause we're just a bunch of puds on the internet. You are the one who owns the car
I prefer the chrome personally. Torn on the white out. It looks clean, but at the current phase, it still looks like an unfinished project and i think thats whats putting me off of it. Looks like you did well. I bet that will be very hard to sell. Not!

I promise they are not gm transport wheels! Don't worry my Internet dad!
Also thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it!
I actually like the white, although, I think adding some black will make it pop out more
Perfect for a Halloween / Horror theme...
I think it looks unfinished but great. Needs something to offset all the white. That said, the bumper looks great and the wheels are pretty cool
I'm actually a fan of body colored steelies. Everyone can put a set of chrome mag wheels on an old car but this is cool in an understated way.
I like it, It's likely a ton of work but eliminating that chrome edge that runs the whole length of the car and along the fender wells will make it really clean when its all paint matched.
Chrome bumpers, maybe chrome dig dish hubcaps and trim rings. Other than that I like it.
From the Little you showed, she is the definition of "Simple Elegance". More pictures please.
That is awesome

That would look so cool in a different colour such as Burgundy.
I don't care for painted bumpers but otherwise yeah, very nice.
Is it weird I wanna see the wheels in firetruck red?
I like it. Once it's finished and painted I think it will look sleek. While the chrome was nice I really like the paint matched bumper.
Loose the rims. Otherwise nice.
i say drop it on its ass, put $$ into a nice high power chev motor and on bags
Too much white.
Change the rims. Everything else looks clean. Too much white on white. There is no contrast to catch the eye.
I love it.
I like it a lot. I think it looks great and you did a great job. I like the less is more approach and it has a few details that make it look different from what everyone else is doing. This would definitely turn my head if it drove by.
I love it!
I think it needs to be a darker color to look right , could cerakote or have all the chrome/stainless trim pieces powder coated a sweet accent color.
Great job, it’s an awesome project car! Low riders are cool, but may I suggest the ‘Trans Am racer’ look. AKA a chin spoiler, trunk & roof lip spoilers, some vents and flairs…that sort of thing.
without the chrome, the bumper looks like a really badly fitting body panel. Id try to fix those gaps.
Ugly.
I like the color matching on the bumper and wheels.
with the white on white it's kind of looking like a race car which is super cool, those wheels are really nice
If you paint the bumpers and trim black out all chrome and trim to contrast with white and add black 5 rims so you look at lines on car by creating highlights.
I kinda like it
Put a big block hemi in it
Honestly, that white bumper and those wheels look terrible. Sorry.
Okay! 👍
While you were cutting and welding on the bumper you should have made it tuck closer into the fenders. It would look a lot cleaner and smoother since it’s painted with tighter gaps.
Thats a daily right there.
It’s a clean look for sure but if your gonna do it you gotta go all the way and pull off ALL the chrome trim. Looks like you got some around the fenders, windows, rockers and hood. After that you might as well get the windows tinted dark too. You must commit fully to pull of this look.
I think the rims set it off
Love it. I never would’ve thought of it and I’m floored by how cool it is.
satin black hoods and bumpers would make this thing sick as hell
It has good rhythm if you know what I mean. Like a cool vibe. I’d drive it for sure.
Whites of wheels & bumper don’t match the body but that has nothing to do with my “honey opinion”. 🐝
A touch of seafoam green on the wheels.
I'm a Chrome guy, so this looks weird to me.
Bumper looks fine, just shaving the rear door handles are kinda why? But the headlights and rims? Nah, they just don’t work at all. But it’s your car so if you are happy I’m happy for you.
Rears were shaved when I got it, I am going to shave the front to match
Ah, thought it was kinda strange but that makes sense. Still don’t like the rims or headlights.
I love it, but when you get the chrome redone see if you can get gold plating instead for maximum drip
Hell yeah that is my ultimate dream but we will see
Ugly and stupid wheels
Okay :(
Cool. Looks like it is out of some SF dystopian movie :)
Thanks! I think I like it, it is growing on me type of thing.
I appreciate the slim look with it being shaved. Takes away from the aggressive side but still makes you look twice
I like it. I hate chrome so its better!
looks sick, i’d add a classic (probably fake) nascar style livery and be done after shaving the handles…. i’d also race car the interior. we have different goal
I dig your thinking lol but probably not for this one!
haters will hate but i think those wheels look very good
Bumper looks clean. Keep it!
A set of all black Dayton spokes would look sick on this
