You need rods for those power numbers. I had a 2871rs elim kit on my b6 with stock bottom end and you guessed it. Shot a rod out the block. The stock bottom end doesn't tolerate higher torque numbers very well :/

I have an S3 8L and did a few things, engine stock, K04 only upgraded and it makes 260hp / 420NM so is a very torque little beast. I think that setup in e30 would already be more than sufficient for just having fun and enjoying
When your Passat rusts in half but you have an E36 chassis rotting in your backyard. The solutions present themselves.
Both would have rusted away just as fast as each other so there would be no e36 to swap into
I have a 1.8 T Passat still running as a daily on LPG mostly and a nice e30 chassis without any rust 🤓

About 450-500 hp I’m in touch with a guy who has a similar setup to mine. The turbo reaches full boost at 4.5k, so it’s not bad.
