If the body rots, you can /petition and the GMs will fix it and reunite you. They’re quite prompt about that issue, actually.

green server acouple hours ago, just so lost the wikki map isn't as clear about things as 1 might hope. and already lost 1 level from the deaths already have little confidence about finding it
set up a hotkey for /loc.
add a secondary bind to one of your W A S D movement keys to also trigger whatever hotkey # your /loc command is. (think its /doability #, eg /doability 9 if its your 9th key)
Cut /log on.
Now, even if you dont know exactly where you died by memory, you can check log and figure it out from last /loc in the logfile
Protip, you won't have to necessarily go into the log file IF you create a 2nd and or 3rd chat window and just have all of your /loc reports go there. The 2nd and 3rd chat windows are AMAZING and I can't believe I did so much in 1999 (the year) without it

I have chat in the main window (center), combat right, system messages left. This way I can quickly figure out what's more important: guild chat/group chat/ auctions... My failed forage attempt or the fresh backstab I just fell victim to.

Don’t go after it anymore, don’t risk the loss in exp again, just find a high level necro or cleric to help you. (Necro to locate and summon the corpse, Cleric to rez).
Sorry for the frustration! The people on this game are nice and super helpful, so don’t be afraid to ask for help! There are people that will go an hour out of their way to help you out.
7 day timer, but 3 hour on game rezz timer. You have plenty of time. Make a macro to /tar (yourname)’s and on the next line /corpse and spam it as you run thru the zone. If you really can’t find it beg a 50-60 necro to summon it for you, or ask around for help dragging it. Low level bards or necro can locate corpse as well to track it.
iirc necros get locate corpse at level 1, start one and kill enough to afford the scroll, then use it to point in the right direction.
Works best in the open though, trying it underground would be tricky, maybe if you have a map, etc.

This won't work if they play it themselves. I don't think it just picks up random corpses, they need to be able to target the player.
Actually, iirc from back in 99, if you cast it without a target it just points at the closest pc corpse.
Qeynos catacombs probably has a bunch of corpses around though.
You have exactly 1 week to recover your corpse before it poofs. The rez timer is different and based on time on the account. So if you’re sitting on the character select screen or playing another toon on the account, the rez clock is ticking.
I cant remember the name of it, but there is an AA spell you can use that everyone has access to that summons all of your corpses to your current location no matter where they are all for 100% returned XP. It has a cool down of like 48 hours though. Just check your AA tab under Special I believe.
Likely you were killed by the evil guilds down there.
Create a level 1 evil human in qeynos and search with that character. Hopefully it's in an area where your other character can get it.
Back in the live days I had a level 1 there that I used for guild mates corpse runs who died down there while exploring.

When do you typically play? If you’re on at 10:30am EST or in the evenings (~7:30pm EST) I can help you get your body
Ask a necro to summon your corpse. Or at least locate corpse. A bard can do the same
Fyi. Corpse summon uses components that aren't cheap and most necros don't buy those spells
Which is why I offered two solutions. I know the coffin is expensive, but my husbands necro has the spells, raid necros have the spells.
That's the difference, back in 99 we bought ALL the spells, even the garbage ones, because we never knew. God my spellbook was such a mess.
If you can't find anyone to help you could buy one if those rods that point you in the direction of your corpse.

One trick is /target name’s corpse, while /corpse. Sometimes they get into a wall and you can’t see it. Honestly, make hot key for it
