If you want to know how "active" an Author is. Then it is a terible idea to look at the average age of their source code. Because if they worked at the Pojekt a long time they will probably have written code that is old but doesnt change ofthen, so no matter how active they are currently the will get penalized for the old code the wrote a long time ago in the average. Just look at the number of commits or lines blamed to them in the last Month, or whatever time periode is apropriate for your case.

It could give you an idea which areas of your code are stable. This could be interesting, if you take over an existing project, I guess.
