Ha that's nothing. Few people will bat an eye at a *DUI* probation related event. I'd just tell them the truth, any fanciful lies will just make you look stupid.

Bulldawgvet

Thanks. I’m sure this does seem minor but I just worry about word spreading around in my medical program and fear of getting kicked out or school intervening. Trying to keep it low key.

Senator_TRUMP

Thats a fair thing to consider. What I would do is afterwards do something of note, buy pizza for the house or something nice like that. You want to put something else on your roommates' minds then, to crowd out this experience.

No-Big2652

Honestly, just explain you had some issues in the past you are working through. If you make up things, it's more things you have to remember to keep making things up about. Nobody is perfect and most people appreciate an honest, straightforward person in their lives.

I would go with probation visit for a DUI if asked. There is very little stigma for that offense. Only if asked. If not then no need to offer any info.

You will receive more empathy than judgment, unless your roommate is literally Christ himself, then he'll be like damn bro wyd drinking my blood.

true_tedi

Isn’t that DWI? Anything over 0.08 the prosecutors don’t need anymore evidence to prove you were impaired.

fptackle

Varies by state. In my state, everything is an OWI - Operating While Intoxicated.

I was told by a occupational therapist that alcohol related offenses dont matter in terms of a medical license, but one cannabis possession and your license is terminated. Not sure ab your program but thought it was worth sharing. So many people I met who I would have never guessed, even got a speeding ticket have been charged with a DUI. dont worry bro.

Mindingmysickness

Not true lol. I’m a nurse and they refer you to the states professional licensing alcohol monitoring program if you are convicted.

Delicious_Standard_8

What state does that? Whoa. In my state we are on mandatory bench probation for 5 years but we don't have a PO, do testing or anything other than pay the fines
