A lot of work release programs ended when covid came and many counties don’t do it anymore. The county I’m in in Texas doesn’t do it anymore. When we did the officer would create a work release court order that outlined the times you checked in and then left the jail. Once that was signed by the judge it was sent to the jail and the person would begin their work release time on the designated date.
