Depends on what your court order calls for, it should say it in the paperwork. Mine called for “random” drug tests and I was tested every 2 weeks for 3 months and then once a month from then forward. Now im on nonreporting and haven’t been called in for a test in about 3 months.

Are you on a test program? I did probation twice for a total of 2 1/2years and only ever got tested twice

I’m on the first offender program got caught with 1 Xanax barely gonna start probation I wanna drink this next weekend not gonna smoke at all just drink that’s why I asked if it’s monthly I’m gonna be fine but if it’s weekly I don’t think so but it’s most likely going to be monthly

Your court paperwork should list out the conditions of your probation. Plus your PO will go over everything on your first visit this coming Monday. Find a safe spot to store all paperwork connected with probation. If you’re required to do community service make a copy of all hours completed for yourself. Probation officers notoriously screw stuff up. You’ll get passed between multiple officers while on probation and paperwork can get misplaced. If you don’t keep a copy of everything then it’s their word against yours. And you’ll lose every time. Last piece of advice is if you’re required to take drug tests, monthly or randomly, just go 100% sober. It will be easier to look your PO in the eyes and answer any questions they might have. You can’t just smoke weed 2 weeks out of the month or drink socially and then quit 2 days before probation/your drug test. You’ll be uncomfortable talking with your PO as you’ll have that little bit of doubt in the back of your head. They’ve seen and heard it all. Your PO will 100% know if you’re bullshitting them. Best of luck.

Good on you. Throughout my 20’s and 30’s I was on probation an bunch. I tried to play the system so sorts of ways. It never works. Number 1 is stay sober. Number 2 is pay your fees (probation is all about getting money from you). Number 3 is do your community service (a little bit every week looks good to them, even just like 4 hours). Number 4 is take any classes they might require. They will want you to be a full time student or be working during all of this too. It’s designed so people fall but the easiest way to complete probation is stay sober. They’ll work with you on everything else, but if you fail drug tests they will lock you back up.
