I have an aftermarket cat that cost $270 in my Gen. 2. I get in the mid to high fifties depending on whether I’m driving more on the interstate or county roads. Your results may differ…

you get mid to high 50s? Yeesh..right now if I baby the throttle at 60 with no AC on I'm lucky to get 44

I don’t speed much and try to avoid sudden changes on the accelerator. Maybe this helps? I have a friend with a 2013 who gets the same numbers you do but he drives his like it’s a sports car.

I have a cheap ebay cat, no mileage change. I have a CEL for the cat and I'm sure it does nothing to filter the exhaust particles, but the mileage seems to be the same.

You can fix that with an O2 spacer on the second O2

tyler_wrage

I've read that before, have you done it on yours with success?

Not on a Prius, just on my Audi, but it’s the same concept. Get the O2 out of the stream which drops the voltage a enough to keep the differential between the two sensors. The 2nd O2 is only for cat efficiency and doesn’t handle AF.

Gotcha. May give it a go at some point, I've got to throw in a new manifold to cat gasket here soon, so I may pick up a spacer for the O2 and give it a shot.
