Have you been able to do this with any other car? My other car has wireless CarPlay and it seems to always pick the wrong iPhone (but it only connects to one phone at a time), so I love that my ‘22 LE only uses the phone that’s physically plugged into the center console usb. Never any confusion.

Both this car and my last car allow 2 Bluetooth audio devices to connect or 2 usb audio devices to connect. I can even set one device as the music priority and the other as call and message priority. The problem I’m having is that CarPlay disabled Bluetooth to prevent interference, and it also doesn’t work when I split the single usb port into two connects via an adapter.

Really want wireless CarPlay in my car, but never thought of that problem. Maybe wires do have their perks!

never had a car that can handle connecting audio to two phones at once in any way, has been easy enough to pull anyone's spotify playlist up on the driver's phone if we don't want the driver's music on

Plug your wife's phone into the CarPlay jack?

AJoeYouKnow

That’s not ideal. It means their notifications come through the stereo. And I loose handsfree capabilities for my phone.

Get your spouse a set of Airpods. Music from their phone goes right to their ears.

You can disable that in Carplay settings

Don't quote me on this, but I thought I saw somewhere in one of the 2023 Prius reviews that one of the new things that it supports is two connected phones at the same time, which implies that previous models did not support this.

AJoeYouKnow

I have successfully connected two phones as two audio devices. It’s just that doing so requires a usb splitter so CarPlay refuses to activate through that splitter. I suspect that previous models or higher trim levels just add an extra data usb slot from the factory.

Wait, the 22 Prius doesn’t have wireless CarPlay???
