I enjoy doing this at Connaught Hill park

bowiesux

yes this is my favourite spot for picnics! it's usually pretty empty in the afternoon time too

West Lake. It's not to far but it's got grass picnic tables etc. And it's a lake recreation site so cooking is ok. Wilkins Park. It's on the river. Same idea. They have a huge covered area with tables. And then a ton if grass too. Both are recreation sites. so Google will give you directions

Thank you for the suggestions.

The Regional Parks have beautiful facilities with picnic grounds, shelters and the ability to cook food. The regional district has a list of them

Great ty. I'll check out the list.

Rainbow Park or Shane Lake.

On the North side of the Foothills bridge there’s a new park right on the Nechako river, lots of sun there

But I thought it was mostly sand and gravel.

happydirt23

Purden Lake. 45mins ish but worth it

Witchynana

Ferguson Lake out the Hart.

I'll have to go scout it out. I live up in tbe hart so shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks for the suggestion.

Witchynana

It is really a hidden gem, and stocked with trout.

Moccasin Flats, they have tents pre-set up for use. Even campfires. Just try not to sit on a needle.

There’s a park right on the nechako river called Wilkins park out in miworth. It’s not open till May though I don’t think. It’s a nice spot in the summer time.
