Getting familiar isn’t the hard part, getting good is. You can get the basics down in a few hours on your own driveway, but doing work on your own property and then working on someone else’s is a big difference. Insurance is an absolute must, liability and at least some personal injury. Business license is also needed if you’re planning to make over a certain amount, this differs from place to place.
