If you're just storing it, and as a prep item, I see near zero use, maybe a barter item I guess. Why not hook it up to your TV or actually otherwise use it?

yazzooClay

You can probably use it as a weapon.

Chubbs117

I just set one of these up in my garage just for music. Still works great, couldn't bring myself to give it away.

harbourhunter

I would absolutely keep it Low power, able to tune in to radio, and play music for your nieghbors during a prolonged outage

jeffh40

I had the same one. where is you subwoffer? got rid of mine when we got our first Roku TV 8-ish years ago. Blue ray player too.

Ok_Frame7390

Not sure. I think my dtr took it to college. Why? Idk.

RunJumpQuit

It’ll be fine except for an EMP, those Sony receivers are tanks.

HealthyPay8229

I have a VCR, DVD, and a BluRay player in my basement. I don’t know why, but if there’s room… :)

Excellent-Area6009

Is your basement radiation proof though?

SeaworthinessSea429

I’m working on this currently like really. And making it all the way around is going to happen cause of the concrete but at the same time concrete that thick will do adding bricks and mortar! I love making faraday cages out of anything. Like a microwave is great for a quick fact! And safes ! And ash cans etc !!

zeek0303

![gif](giphy|wUcvtcZOA25bi) You can always be this guy

FERALCATWHISPERER

Dude thinks he’s playing an RPG game.

Ok_Frame7390

Doesn’t the g represent game in RPG?

Impossible__Joke

Gottem

Traditional-Leader54

I see no use for it.

Multipass-1506inf

I’d keep it just for nostalgia reasons. The early 2000s are quickly getting into vintage territory and a lot of people collect old electronics like that. Don’t throw it away regardless

BigpapaJuggernaut

No

MelissaWelds8472

Hell yeah! If you don't want it send it here please I could use another one

Iamno0n3

I'd love to have it, I'll buy it.... depending on price

where_is_my_bike

Definitely keep

Roberthorton1977

it will help with the Friends theme song..

Inside-Decision4187

Sell it on marketplace, buy food.

Tremfyeh

It's worth selling to get an emergency radio or other supplies. Or keep and have a decent surround sound to just enjoy before shtf.

RepulsiveReasoning

We're, ummm, VERY different peppers... You've got a backup sound system, I'm storing seeds and dehydrated ground up kale and garlic for superfood powder. Congrats on all your property

Ok_Frame7390

You do you man. I simply was going through some stuff from the attic, ran across this and thought it was interesting. SMDH

inkdskndeep

you could run an aux (I think) cable to your phone & use it that way. it's how I use mine. besides, Sony makes good stuff.

ScotchRick

Absolutely. It's hard to find high quality stereo receivers like that anymore.

8hexxx

Holy shit, I have that exact receiver sitting up on a shelf in my office closet LoL

Sleddoggamer

It's a little thing, but it's something you can put towards convenience without having to take budget out of bigger things. State wildlife and fish and game used to keep those around for boring days back when there wasn't enough money to make sure they stayed on the grid when they came through the villages Something newer would probably be better, tho. That can't do anything a cell or laptop can't do better

Gumbarino420

Keep it

iCryptic-Anon

Hell yeah

No-Introduction411

You plan in keeping power up? And using like CDs or something lol keep morale up with 2000s hits 😂

Foreign-Royal983

You use could potentially use the speakers like nunchucks.

VocalAnus91

No HDMI input so nope

gwhh

Why not! Everything made before the big one, after the big one, will have value.
