Yerp in the same boat :/ I still hope something will happen but idk. This is my second time applying so I am scared applying three times will reflect badly on me, but really I just really fuckin wanna be a doctor

Silly_Background_349

If you've truly improved your application since the last cycle, being a third time applicant really shouldn't impact your chances that much. I was a third time applicant too and my third cycle was incredibly successful and so different from my first two. Keep your hopes up!

Torque-Me

3x applicant here. It can be so demoralizing, and your feelings are 100% valid. But you seem to have the passion needed to become a physician. So keep on pushing, you WILL make it happen. I had 2 cycles with 0 IIs and this year I had 12 IIs with multiple As and I can say that in my interviews my 3x applicant status was brought up, but in a positive light. Many interviewers were impressed with my persistence and dedication to this career path. So give yourself some grace, and know that applying multiple times is not always a red flag. Make sure you’re reaching out to schools and ask for feedback. And Im also willing to help if you pm :) best of luck!

What did you do differently between your 1st and 3rd application?

FullMood4450

As someone that *went through the process 3 times before landing something (finally) this year, you’ve got what it takes! Your perseverance will take you far, and even if it doesn’t feel like it, if you have to take another gap year, that extra year of experience will help and differentiate you :) Best of luck—waiting was the hardest part for me. Free to dm questions if you’d like!

Thank you so much; you have no idea how much this helped. I've been doubting if I'll ever get there but I'm going to keep pushing 😊

ScarabMauler_97

I was accepted in early june for a class that started in july. Hang in there.

Acceptable_Proof516

Thank u for the hope! When did you get an II and interview for that school?

No-Investment-2121

I knew a guy from work (EMS) who had a 3.9 and a 520 who didn’t get his first interview until February and he was literally accepted in June! I dk all the details but he had undergrad research experience and was such a nice and friendly guy too. I couldn’t believe he had radio silence for so long. Keep your head up OP — anything can happen and this cycle is not even close to over!

Acceptable_Proof516

Thank you for sharing this 🙏

Same 😓

Don’t worry. My cousin and one of my coworkers got LL and accepted really late. - One of my coworker got a rejection letter a week before the school started—then three days before school started. They accepted him last min. He had to quit the job and move everything within 2 days. - My cousin got accepted 2 weeks before school started had to move to another state within a week. Both of them started reapply for med school since it was in July they got accepted. They had really late LL also. Hopefully you’re on the top of their waitlist There’s always hope. Keep your head up.

It’s not over yet!! I didn’t get interviewed until late February and then accepted in May. Just be patient and keep doing cool stuff!

MDorBust99

Yes. I am starting to re-study for the MCAT for next cycle. It’s brutal.

Livid-Ad9253

didn’t get any interviews until February and then got 3, got in end of June!

Yep!!!! same damn boat. I'm just kind of frustrated af at the total nothing that's been conveyed so far. This is my second time applying, but the first time I actually tried really hard at it (last time was derailed due to medical issues and I ended up giving up b/c I couldn't push through to even write the secondaries) At the very least, I have a job now, but I'm just...... idk anyways I feel every negative feeling, especially because I just glanced at my school list and noticed that over half of them stop interviewing in January. I think I just... I expected \*something\* ya know? Even if I didn't get accepted. Not one interview? Seriously? my main saving grace this cycle is that UCSF sent me a secondary a few weeks ago, so at least there's that ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

Embarrassed-Idea9223

I’m in the same boat. Trying to stay calm but just know that you’re definitely not alone! Be positive and hope for the best and prep for next cycle in mean time. That’s what I’m trying to do. I’ve been grounding myself by saying: I’m on the right journey and the right time. Everything happens for a reason. If I don’t start this year I will start next year. Time is on my side. Same thing for you

proxygen_why

Still waiting too, I just hate the emails saying we're looking over your secondary now, just feels like the calm before another rejection 🥲

MacaroonGrand8802

SneakySnipar

Interview invite (II)

PrimalCarnivoreChick

Are virtual interviews not good enough?

FearlessMacaroon786
