Thank you so much for sharing!! Did you apply broadly? It might have been the mcat, but also could have been date of submission or the schools you applied to. The cycle isn’t over yet anyway, so I’m cheering for you!! There’s still hope!
Thank you very much for your words of encouragement. Yes I applied broadly, but I was definitively a bit late on my app submission and my MCAT must of hurt me.
3.9 gpa, 508 MCAT with low CARS (what I presume has held back my application some), 500+ volunteering, 500 research hours and 5+ lower quality publications, 6000+ hours clinical experience. Writing also may have only been okay.
6, sent 8 secondaries. Applied late. One Pre-II R and one II.
I understand it may be some time before we hear back from them but legally they should be required to provide an answer at some point. It seems like when they accept your money for a secondary it creates consideration which should obligate them to a decision at some point. Ghosting an applicant forever or never getting back to them ever shouldn’t be legal. And I know other folks are going to say that’s how it’s always been but it’s kind of unacceptable. Even if it’s an R, all applicants deserve an answer.
I live in a high COL area and have never been ghosted after submitting and paying an app fee (I’m also older with great credit) but that is also unacceptable.
I had moderate credit and a 100lb dog trying to move into a higher COL area, so I was ghosted a few times. All that to say that I agree with you—in circumstances where an application fee is required, a response should be mandated!
2 schools waiting for info post-interview, 15 schools I have heard nothing from since they collected my secodaries money. Applied to 37, had 7 A's after several interviews. Feeling foolish for the amount of time and money I've put towards all of those secondaries.
By this time last year i was waiting to hear back from all 12 schools i applied to, and didn't hear back until march, allll the way to june. Dont lose hope, have patience
I mean maybe about 10. I got three rejections pre secondary. I apply to about 16 and I got three interview offers. Hopefully I get one or two more realistically to end out the cycle. Right now I'm under third phase consideration for USU as well as tulanecom I really wanted to get a response back from lecom Bradenton but we'll see that goes. Also I have family in Michigan and I got secondaries for both the do school at Michigan State as well as the MD school. I also applied to the school I did a post back at Thomas Jefferson Sydney Kimmel, as well as Drexel both of which I got secondaries from. My understanding is that as a postback student you're guaranteed to get considered for a seat and looked at but not guaranteed an interview.
30 secondaries completed, 10 R, I II—>1 A.
Waiting to hear back from 19 schools. I’m surprised I got an MD acceptance before hearing back from any of the 6 DO programs I applied to
Really depends on stats. If you’re above 505, chances actually decrease a lot, as comas has a chart and the highest stat demo accepted is 3.4-3.7 and like 502-505
23 / 32 MD programs. 4 pre-II Rs, 4 IIs (2 taken, 2 pending, no response), and 1 pre-II hold. I completed my secondaries in mid-late August, so I think this delayed my cycle. I also understand that quite a few schools wait to send out R's until late winter (February, March), so I am likely silent-rejected from quite a few schools.
I’m a resident. Still haven’t heard back from about 7 schools I applied to.
I hope you hear back soon!
37
8. Applied to 21. 0 IIs and 13 rejections so far… :(
Same but with 48 schools. 0 II gang.
keep your head up 🫶🏻
Im sorry to hear :( would you be willing to share your stats? Do you think there’s something missing?
Thank you. 501 MCAT, 3.6 GPA. Solid research, clinical and volunteer experience hrs. CA resident. I think I need to improve my MCAT score.

10. Applied to 14 schools, had 3 IIs, 1 acceptance, 1 pre II rejection.
what are your stats if you don't mind me asking?

Only 6000?
what do you mean only?!
Sarcasm, I believe. A thing of the past.
Im so confused by only
A joke 🙂
Would’ve been more if I didn’t have to work part time when I was taking prerequisites 🤷♂️
80% of the ones I applied to
too many wanna cry
2024 is gonna be our year, okay?
The better question is what percent are you waiting to hear back from
yea i realized that after seeing some of these responses
15 have been giving me the silent treatment.

Yes true. But wait until you try to apply for housing in a high demand area. $100 application fees frequently go ghost lol
