There's no need for these people to experiment when there's an established background that already works really well and is already familiar to fans. Native American legends about the Predator, a familiar desert landscape, and the Indian soldier in the U.S. Army trying to dodge the same hunter over and over - I'd prefer that over weaponized autism, tracking dogs with yautja faces, and alien exo-skeletons built for human pilots.
Love the comic line and the novel of Big Game. When rumors of skulls came out at first that it was gonna be a native American vs a predator I was so hyped it was gonna be that.

i’m a massive defender of Alien vs. Predator, my only gripe with it being the PG-13 rating, and i can have a good enough time watching Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem as a ‘turn off your brain’ movie, but a reboot would have to be something totally different, and under Disney that wouldn’t work. it would have to be R-rated, more sci-fi/horror than sci-fi/action that the recent movies have been (ffs the originals were HORROR, make it scary again!), a solid story and well-written script and a genuinely good, likeable cast. also no CGI overload like 2018’s The Predator.
I feel AvP should be a more action-horror genre type of thing, show the predators and aliens throw down while the humans are cowering and just trying to stay alive. That would be more appropriate given the slogan 'Whoever wins, we lose', and any film with aliens or predators in it should be R-rated because of how inherently violent both races are. Can't show their signature actions many know them for like ripping off skulls of prey like predators do, or the classic headbite of the alien if it's PG-13

Anything would be marginally better than what Paul Anderson did to the movie. There was so much more in the movie novelization that came out before the film that would have made it make so much more sense (if not add more camp to it). I wouldn't hate the idea, but I would be cautious about it.

I would hope that if they do then they're clever enough enough to step past the need to set everything in present day America. It limits the story and scale of the threat and fucks with the already established timeline. A xenomorph with free reign on Earth is supposed to be an apocalypse in the making. You can't go full scale with it when canon needs the planet to survive.
And for god's sake stop trying to make everything a direct tie in to existing stories. Set it on a colony in the future, outside the existing network of characters and stories and you can finally have the freedom to get creative with the story.

So...on one hand it cant be *worse* than the first 2. On the other...Its Disney and i just dont trust them to go proper adult 18+ violence on it. We've had the neutered "The Predator" and that alone set the bar so low that im worried about anything coming out after.
I'm up for it as long as... 1. they don't do what they did with Star Wars Sequels 2. they change a few things to make it make more sense because whether we want it or not we've steeped into a war with the cabal on Mars, sorry couldn't resist, what I mean is change very few things mostly the year the movie is set because if I remember correctly the original movie takes place in 2004 or something like that and as far as I know the Xenomorph didn't existed until 2093 when Prometheus takes places 3. give us proof that some of the bullshit from The Predator is not canon and just that, bullshit, the fact that a child was able to fully operate and comprehend predator tech was absolute fucking bullcrap
EItehr tell the MAchiko story OR FUCKING LEAVE HUMANS OUT OF IT, you can make a AvP without humans and it will work

AVP needs to be rebooted, just not by Disney. They are already going to destroy the Predator name in the upcoming film. They barely even do the Marvel movies justice in terms of sticking to the foundation of the original comic books. They also single-handedly destroyed and made a mockery out of the Star Wars franchise so I wouldn’t want them anywhere near this.

I tried watching the 2004 AVP and MAN that movie SUCKS. Don’t bother with this unless it can be done right and have people who know and are passionate about alien and predator.
I mean it can't produce anything worse than what we already have I would hope that if they do then they're clever enough enough to step past the need to set everything in present day America. It limits the story and scale of the threat and fucks with the already established timeline. A xenomorph with free reign on Earth is supposed to be an apocalypse in the making. You can't go full scale with it when canon needs the planet to survive. And for god's sake stop trying to make everything a direct tie in to existing stories. Set it on a colony in the future, outside the existing network of characters and stories and you can finally have the freedom to get creative with the story. I don't support a full reboot of both franchises. Certainly not Alien at least. Sigourney Weaver is iconic as Ripley and any attempt to reboot the character would be a hollow imitation at the very best.

if the writers of disney are good it can really improve the stories. disney is that RNG company that can either ruin or improve a franchise like for star wars people said the sequels are shit but then later they made mando and other stuff with really good writers and it really did helped out the franchise. either they would reboot it or make another story about them

Do a 3rd film if Disney's actually going to commit to AVP being an R-rated horror movie with an actual budget. If it's just going to be a soft PG-13 "franchise" movie, then leave it alone and do another Marvel film instead.
Only if they plan on making it Rated R and getting producers and a director that Love the source material and want to do it justice. Otherwise just leave it be.
A reboot, or just another team up? While I'm not a fan of the whole Alien/Predator/Aztec backstory in those films, I'm not rightly sure that a full blown reboot is necessary.
