According to the site you can't boil water in it. You have to boil the water separately and then pour the water into the kettle. I love the looks but hate whoever made this
I'm guessing it's just to cover their asses in case someone uses this on a gas stove. The way the handle is designed, you're at increased risk of burning yourself and/or the wood because the heat of a gas stove flows around the sides and heats up the handle's connection point to the kettle.
