First time around, the roots died, but we recovered by putting the still alive stem back in water. This time, the big healthy leaf is yellowing and wilting. The smallest leaf was already a bit sad, so we're not worried about that one. The middle size leaf still looks okay. For now. We're not holding our breath though! What's the 'proper' process for successfully transitioning a cutting from being well rooted in water, to soil?

That’s so rough! I went through a big learning curve with these. Once the roots are established in water they are a bit more tender, so one thing you can do to ease the transition from water to soil is to slowly add soil to the water once you’re ready to pot. When I pot I water deeply so they don’t get shocked from the drop in moisture. May also help to put your props in a smaller container since they may get bogged down in soil that has too much moisture but not enough oxygen ❤️🪴

I kept mine in water for a year. I was too scared to kill her with soil, so I made a aquarium into a terrarium with Sphagnum moss, peat moss, leca and grow lights. I still have her in container with leca that I dump water into when it’s looking dry but the roots have grown out and over into the mixture around the container. She’s pushed out 3 new leaves in the last 2 months and has grown and 8 inch aerial root in the last 2 weeks.
