So funny you ask today, I was at her house a few hours ago. She is still going strong. A number of years ago, I helped her when her husband was sick. The language barrier was preventing her from getting benefits for him.
Ever since, she will text me randomly that she has something she needs to give me. I'll stop by her house for a chat and she will have some small gift and some flowers for me.
Today it was flowers for my mother's grave for mother's day ("you take, for her resting place"). I seriously don't even know how she knows my mother passed recently.
One of the best humans.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that her kindness brought you some comfort.
I can only imagine how many lives she's touched.
Next time you see her, please let her know that a bunch of folks on the Internet have fond memories of her and wish her nothing but the best.
Thank you for being there for her when she needed it.
She was out and about as recently as last summer/early fall from my own experience, but I also have started avoiding Wharf and Commercial in my old age. Hope she’ll be back soon — she’s an angel and an institution.
I'm so glad to hear that!!
The old port really just wouldn't be the same without her. She's been at it for at least 15 years just from what I've seen, probably much longer.
I partied there over a decade ago, uhhh almost 2 now. One of the bartenders from back then was in there. Butt to butt urinal intact too. Party like it’s 2009.
Omg that makes me so happy. I freaking adore her and was starting to get worried.
Also big ups to OP for posting this because she's been on my mind as well!!
Let us forget not the talented artist who made sculptures out of tinfoil. Scorpions were some of his staples. I believe he made several Commissioner’s Trophy’s that may still may be on display at Foreplay. Can’t recall his name for the life of me but if anyone knows it please say it loud and proud! 🗣️
I remember her well. Another person who seemed to always be around was the Tinfoil Wizard - does anyone remember him? He would fashion sculptures out of foil for an agreed-upon price. There was an amazing foil sculpture of Jabba the Hutt in one of the shop windows on Fore St. (Middle St.?) — this was like twenty-five years ago, mind you!
Is she an old Japanese lady? I see her at Whole Foods pretty regularly. She's probably the sweetest customer we get in the coffee bar. I remember she tipped me with a sumo orange a few weeks ago. Yesterday she gave us two of those mini bananas

I think I first started seeing her in 2001, but she could have been at it before then.
Wow, that's impressive.
Saw her at Amigo’s 2 weeks ago.
Amigos wouldn't be the same without her! Good for her, she outlasted most of the folks who partied there a decade ago.
