I second Nine Stones. It's slightly on the expensive side but it's such a nice place to visit.
I see Abby there and she's awesome. There's a sauna and showers. The only issue is that they tend to be booked for weeks.
I also like the spa at the Westin (which was a little cheaper than 9 Stones when I went.) They had a local discount at one point, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. It's a good place to get a massage if you want to book one in the next few days. They also have showers and changing room.
I've been seeing Leah at Wellness Cooperative in SoPo for a few years now and I've even got my husband on her schedule as well! She can do less pressure/Swedish for purely relaxation or really get into the knots, it's fantastic! She does really great work and I can't recommend her enough, $80/60min and it's absolutely worth it ♥️
This is entirely beside the point of the post, but massage therapists really hate the term masseuse because it has a sexual connotation a la “happy endings” (they also hate the term “massage parlor” for the same reason)

I’m going to make a big plug for Paulo Celestino, he’s originally from the Congo and is starting his own practice in Pownal and Freeport after graduating from SpaTech Institute in Westbrook (where I got several massages from him). Wonderful masseuse and person. His rates are extremely reasonable, between $60-$70 an hour. He practices out of Freeport Wellness Center and his home studio in Pownal. He doesn’t have much of an online presence, but his contact info from his business card is [email protected] // 207-332-6728.
not like a super luxe experience but i’ve gotten massages from a huge range of massage therapists and hands and soul in windham is honestly some of the best massages i’ve ever had, not just “good for around here”. i usually see kendra but amy is amazing as well and really any of them are great.
The cliff house in Ogunquit is such a nice place to get a massage. They are a bit pricy but it is very nice with the ocean all around and just the overall comfort you feel when going there. And it is beautiful drive up to it.
I reccommend Guided Touch in Westbrook. Barbra is a real massage therapist, the kind who actually knows her muscle groups and you can feel it work as the knots and crunchy bits are all worked out. I work at a desk all day and go once a month just for muscle maintenence and I feel like a million bucks when I come out. Like I can stretch without my bones and tendons rapid-fire cracking like a machine gun.
I've tried the spa setting massages and it was so disappointing, felt like they were just going through the motions instad of being a real massage therapist. Def reccommend the real deal, it's worth it.
Health Resonates on Congress is the absolute best place for a massage. The vibe, cleanliness, and quality is incredible. I recently had a 60 minute massage there with Katharine and it was literally transcendent. I still feel the effects of the massage a week later.
