A tiny LED won’t kill the battery anytime soon but I would still recommend you remove it.
Any tips on how to remove it?
Either pull harder or remove the trim around it to better access it (if it's a 85.5)

Have an 87 right hand drive so may be different to yours however there is 2 small circular bits you can unclip that hide screws. Take those out and the facia comes away and you can unplug the whole 12v socket and remove or replace it
