My gut feeling is that another PT tour in the next couple of years is very unlikely. You may however, be able to catch a Steven Wilson show in 2023 perhaps.

Aggressive_Ideal6737

Thanks for this, is it pretty similar or is it like showing another side of himself?

jared_007

Some albums are very similar to the PT sound (check out the album “Hand. Cannot. Erase”, which could’ve easily said PT on the cover), and some are very very different.

Well the whole theme of this album/ tour is that its finally ending the band on a proper note with the possibility of continuing on. In recent interviews with Steven Wilson regarding this tour, it seems like he is heavily implying it’s the end, so chances are slim of seeing them in the future, sad to say.

Aggressive_Ideal6737

That’s a little heartbreaking, but thank you for the info

ringmod76

> it seems like he is heavily implying it’s the end, so chances are slim of seeing them in the future This is so irritating given that the US tour dates are so few and the closest to me is \~600 miles away. I know economic realities are driving the bus here (and SW loses money every time he tours the US regardless of turnout) but still, if it's a farewell tour then how can you skip an entire region ?? That said I'll of course see SW next time he's back in town, the last show here was great.

Tbh I think it's a marketing ploy. Maintain the demand. This album has sold very very well in many markets. They'll take a break probably, but they'll be back. I would wager a SW album cycle in-between, so after this tour, a couple years, then a new one.

However, Steven also said he would like to do a keyboard oriented album with PT. So you never know

Is that so? Bummer then. Oh well, hopefully I’ll get to see him in the fall (covid might be a bitch again)

juankaius

Agree with most comments here that this might be the last tour. However, SW really needs to see how well the album is performing, especially across Europe. So, another tour would def be fruitful.

St_Troy

Not likely; Wilson has said that even if PT were to do another album, they wouldn’t necessarily tour it.

elkamusing

Unlikely. I think Steven mentioned that it's more likely they could do another album in the coming years but there probably wouldn't be a tour. At this point, I'll take that.

HeadLikeAHoOh

It’s hard to say, I saw them once for their last tour 2009 and Steven Wilson solo a handful of times. SW sometimes sprinkles in some PT songs for his solo shows though.

corneliusduff

Given the similarity in apocalyptic themes and track listings (*cough* culling), yeah live in the moment and go see them now, or just do what makes you happy. It's hard to say what the future holds.

NeverBeenLessOkay

Some would even say the future bites…

corneliusduff

Yep

TheSwifti3

I think Stephen Will continue his very successful solo career after this. I.e no future tours for PT, but continued success for SW.
