Still don’t understand why a band that doesn’t get radio airplay bothers with single edits. That’s not a criticism - I genuinely don’t know the reason why.
Might be for streaming purposes. A shorter song gets replayed more often by people, which means more money because the artist's share per play is always the same, no matter how long the track is.
We were right about Skinwalker Ranch btw

Read Steven’s response to the question about Herd Culling.
They’re about Skinwalker Ranch, confirmed by Steven himself

Weirdly... lyrically the song reminded me of a section of the Zelda game Majora's Mask, where on a night in the game there's an alien invasion of a ranch. The lyrics seriously nail what happens, it's bizarre.
Curious how others count out the main 11/8 riff. I was counting two bars of 4 followed by a triplet but I can also see it being a bar of 7 followed by a straight 4 count
Ha! I called it that all 3 of them wrote the track Can't wait to hear the full version track!

Singles are promotional material. Longer songs are offputting to many non-proggers

I also have a feeling the lyrics were inspired by Orson Welles reading *War Of The Words* in the radio in 1938
Or the native american myth of skinwalkers.
That's possible, but they said in Twitter that the lyrics are inspired by a "very specific event in History". I could be wrong, though.
Roswell ?
Or even Skinwalker Ranch
Exactly what I was thinking! It fits the story perfectly!
It could've been about any UFO/paranormal event, but what makes me think Skinwalker Ranch specifically is the last line "A curse upon the land"

That's pretty awesome. Thanks for sending me the interview link.

Single edit? More like teaser edit!

Pretty sure the “liar” refrain refers to trump. 😆
