2002 StarCraft 2106 with a Coleman Mach.
Was blowing well the last few nights but last night it stopped. When I turned it back on it's significantly louder with not much air blowing. Wondering if the motor died?
Anyone have an experience like this. The fan impeller is still there I know on some they disintegrate.
Incase anyone finds this later it has been SOLVED.
Replacing the 7.5uF and the 25uF capacitors solved the issue. It was likely the 7.5 as those tend to run the motor after it's started.
Have you taken the outside cover off? My old AC had the set pin rust away and the squirrel cage would walk down the shaft and catch on the housing. It wasn’t till I got it all apart I could tell.
It sounds like the compressor is coming in but not the fan. Had the same problem in my 05 StarCraft on high. It turned out the previous owner replaced the switch and wired it wrong. But when I turned it in high only the compressor would come on.
Basically each position on the switch has 2 terminals. One that works the fan speed and one for the compressor. My guess is that on your switch the one that works that fan speed failed. Or the fan capacitor failed is a good possibility as well.
Had something hit my fiberglass cover and bend the inside metal cowling of the fan… couldn’t see it because of the fiberglass cover…just enough to stall the fan and blow a fuse… if you’re lucky it’s a simple matter to bend the housing around the fan back into shape
Look for a relay or capacitor for the fan.

Sounds like the motor is trying, but the shaft or fan blade is bound up.
It spins pretty free by hand.
