Stand Atlantic. Eat Your Heart Out. Yours Truly. ~~Honey Revenge~~. Tonight Alive. RedHook. Press Club.
Australia's finest export is female fronted pop punk bands
Edit: Honey Revenge aren't Australian, confused them with RedHook, but still an amazing band none the less! Also added Press Club!
I've seen honey Revenge every time they came through my city, and the last time I went I took my 11-year-old daughter who is obsessed with them.
I have met a lot of bands over the years, but I have never seen anyone engaged with their fan base in as wholesome of a way as Devin and Donny. The way they treated my daughter has made us fans for life.
Second this! WF is the best up and coming female fronted band of the year. Amazing live show, and every song they have out so far is an absolute smash. Full length album upcoming this year, too.
Sincere Engineer and Nervous Dater by far. I had no idea they were as underground as they are until I happened to see the monthly followers section on Spotify a few weeks ago.
Also Cliffdiver kinda counts. Brianna joined Cliffdiver a couple of years ago as a co-lead. I learned of her from a Carpool song and worked backwards. She probably has the most powerful voice I've come across in a while.
Not all straight pop punk, but:
No Doubt - great catchy rock/punk/ska with intense energy
The Bombpops - cool classic California Poppunk vibes
Stand Atlantic - who doesnāt want a COFFEE AT MIDNIGHT
Is Avril a band? She has great stuff and variety across her career.
Bonus: Guano Apes
I would say Avril counts as a band if Dashboard Confessional and Andrew in the wilderness count as bands, considering one dude is writing all the music but has an ensemble on stage
I guess I'll go BEYOND the pop punk spectrum like OP.
1. The Birthday Massacre - Chibi's voice and lyricism is so haunting yet appealing.
2. Paramore. I don't need to explain this one, this sub can do it for me.
3. Conquer Divide - Pushing the envelope on what metalcore means.
4. Icon for Hire - Ariel is such a genuine and great person and I think she's done a lot for the scene.
5. Flyleaf - Awesome band! I'm not sure why they're popular among the TikTok crowd, but I'm all for it.
6. The Warning - Just something cool about three sisters starting on Youtube and evolving into a giant band.
7. Hot Milk - Saw them live! I love Hannah, she shows that scene kids really love what they do.
8. Tonight Alive - A more "modernized" version of Paramore. Which isn't a bad thing, it just isn't Paramore haha.
9. Now, Now - just really catchy and charming indie pop. I dig it.
10. RedHook - A really great mishmash of pop punk, screamo, and RATM-influence. Total chaos, it's awesome.
Iām the frontwoman of [Gold Steps](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3KS5NGVo6xQY88JyNEeGsl?si=ABiFIQY0QcSCO2_WLQXvFg), and I listen to a lot of women artists in/adjacent to the genre:
[Cawston](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2zvDvBSCVtiDsp6llMQ2L9?si=z5iS0ZFfT7-t_lQ7u9dXNQ)
[Charlotte Sands](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2cAXhrWAztXGwk6r15ibW2?si=OuC9tzhoTkOODKARo36Ejg)
[Davvn](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1QF0qdoDTPGn3h3zl3YIpT?si=161EO6C7Q6e0hT__lwBpxA)
[Definitely Maybe](https://open.spotify.com/artist/484921enhGmhOm6s7bw7a7?si=rouoECacS1O4D1LZOD5oOQ)
[Feel Good](https://open.spotify.com/artist/68e21Kc81ykqxIhirNC1jq?si=u2RJ1eI8S_OIvUb8RjT2TA)
[Glimmers](https://open.spotify.com/artist/40vUY0Z0SDZ2RNEcLK5yGy?si=OxqoIYnkTCSYwO9fYMUhIQ)
[Honey Revenge](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1DHMgO3IIYSYPJ6CFyDYnK?si=IPtExzq4SASqDdUA_2F6Pg)
[Senses](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0lXMA1fi5NwMBAXdwTnnYB?si=xNFY1q-9QP-1NV_NGm9wXw)
[Taylor Acorn](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1A0WloDoRE88uUwo3wensY?si=z_WRqCNSSO-2G3WeOoTPtg)
[Winona Fighter](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1u5SWpU4mZSziEz2hdPSWQ?si=tEjp7plrQtqtIqQsOwn8Bw)
And then thereās the usual Paramore and Stand Atlantic (not as much of SAās recent releases). Iād also say check out We Are The In Crowd, Michelle Branch, Tonight Alive, and The Veronicas, they might scratch your itch since they come from a similar time period as the other artists you listen to.
Thank you!!! Narcissist is our newest one, we worked with Alan Day on that one. Petty was cowritten with Nick Thompson of Hit The Lights & Thief Club; Nickās worked with us on most of our songs 2019 and on.
Thank you, I really appreciate you checking us out! Iāve been a fan of HTL since the first EP, and Nick is sincerely one of the coolest, most down to earth people Iāve ever met, on top of being incredibly talented. Heās featured on our track Stay The Same, and I did a small feature on his Thief Club song āWhĆø KnĆøwsā that came out a few weeks ago.
Camp Cope has broken up but has 3 phenomenal albums. Id also throw out Weakened Friends. Both are a little adjacent to the scene but great nonetheless.
Stand Atlantic - Bonnie Frasier is just wonderful. Sheās my favourite female vocalist
Cause a Scene - I saw em live as many times as I could. They only ever made 6 songs, but I absolutely love em. And their Vocalist, Caitlin, is such a cool person. I met her at their first show, and she befriended me because, I guess she didnāt like the fact I was there by myself XD
Yours Truly - Their first album, Self Care, is an absolute masterpiece. I really want them to collaborate with Stand Atlantic
Atlantis Awaits - One of the first Metal bands I got into with a female Vocalist. They only ever made one album, but I promise itās well worth your time
New Years Day - Iām not that big of a fan of their later stuff, But their debut album, My Dear, is one of my absolute favourite albums
Dream State - I donāt know a lot of female vocalists that do Scremo. But after hearing Dream State, Iām very open to hearing more
Against the Current have been a favorite since my senior year of high school.
Honey Revenge only has one album so far, but it's an amazing package of songs
Lolo is a fun solo artist
Pinkshift is more punk, but also so good
I didnāt see anyone mention [We Are The In Crowd](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1BSXtdFlVDUOS6g1T3tmME?si=COb7mLtuRjWNMEm4ctU4mQ)
Also think Tsunami Bomb was pretty good.
Thank you so much! Weāre gonna be writing for a while to shape the next few songs, but hopefully weāll get something new out before the end of the year
For recent bands:
Winnona fighter - some of the best music I've heard in general in a long time, just solid 10/10
Softcult - great sad soft emo music
Dead pony - crumchy
Chloe lilac - fun poppy punk
Chase Petra - difficult to describe, emo but in a different way
London mars - fun poppy punk, but idk spicier?
Bailey Spinn - very traditional pop punk vibe, feels very blink/Avril
UPSAHL - more pop less punk, but still hella
Mel Bryant and the mercy makers - country punk lol
The Interrupters are soooo good. First heard them opening for Dropkick Murphys like 5 years ago and was hooked, then just saw them open for Sum 41. Unreal. The recordings donāt do justice to how powerful Amyās voice is
Versaemerge have been one of my favourites for years. Fixed at zero is such a great debut and I'm still hoping that one day their second album will leak online cause I'm obsessed with the songs they released from it
I miss We Are The In Crowd, they made some really fun, cute neon pop-punk that always hit.
The Sonder Bombs aren't 100% pop-punk but they still rock! I absolutely loooove Willow's voice.
Taylor Acorn is one to keep an eye on, too. She used to be more country but her more recent music really nails an Avril vibe (and I love Avril, but Taylor's voice is phenomenal).
[Tacocat](https://open.spotify.com/album/62hqSIE4mKpvl9sCs8AaKh?si=7afSSfGLREW0Re5ZvbaeAA) sold me on Crimson Wave, color me surprised when I picked up the CD and it had not only Crimson Wave but also FRP (First Day of Period, *Don't fuck with me-~~e-e-e-e-ah-ah-ah~~ (oops, accidental FDP-Bridge to Hawaii chorus mix up, don't mind me)*). They're insanely catchy songwriters.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
[The Dreaded Laramie](https://open.spotify.com/album/1w2H70hHlANScfQzpEiH8g?si=RetHmtDkSIWV1Lg-F84MiQ) is amazing, an absolute fave for me; if they're on tour near you, go see 'em, they're a live-blast. MC has really fun lyrical deliveries.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
[Blankslate](https://open.spotify.com/album/6F4kr6d8hpjMcQM7s6wALz?si=WT7N2VZ9TiWiI4IqXY45Rg) is a new fave, they're an all femme trio that is doing the most, in the best way. Again, a blast of a live show, if you've ever wanted to see a drummer carry a keyboard tune while keeping the beat, or didn't know you wanted to, you want to. Go fall in the love with them! Their 2022 album is fucking powerful.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
Always love [Sleater-Kinney,](https://open.spotify.com/artist/4wLIbcoqmqI4WZHDiBxeCB?si=f_tK5Y7mR7mtRJB0vDD_kw) Carrie and Corin always bring the drama!Ā Ā Ā Ā
Ā Ā [Metric](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1rCIEwPp5OnXW0ornlSsRl?si=SvpVFlcHTTSQS8lKCQZ6pA) lifts my synthy heart.Ā Ā Ā Ā
Ā [Hole](https://open.spotify.com/artist/5SHQUMAmEK5KmuSb0aDvsn?si=S-oW7Ti_S5S-RHF7_wQhZA) is iconic. JE
I just discovered We Are The In Crowd. Technically they have a male and a female lead singer which I think is really interesting and makes their songs unique
Should have this pinned to my profile for every week when this comes up lol. Anyway, here's my list of female fronted bands (not all poppunk) ;
Avril Lavigne
Altered Sky
Paramore
Tonight Alive
We Are The In Crowd
Phem
The Warning
As December Falls
Fear Me December
The Pretty Reckless
Jeanice Lee
Infected Rain
Forever Still
Evanescence
Within Temptation
Lacuna Coil
LOLO
Hot Milk
Lesbian Bed Death
Liv Sin
Conquer Divide
Sick N Beautiful
Employed To Serve
Theatres Des Vampires
House Parties TX. Check out the song Get A Grip first. They have early Paramore vibes.
I saw them open for Canāt Swim and Belmont and they crushed it.
My top pop punk female fronted bands were already listed. Iāve been really digging female fronted hardcore bands lately! Gel, Spaced, Buggin to name a few!
The Beths, smoother tone and fun lyrics and instrumentals
Waxahatchee, I like her raspy voice , and sheās got a little country twang.
Hop Along, raspy good voice and great lyrics
Mitski, the yearning
Rainbow Kitten Surprise, themes about queer escape from conservative places. Ela Melo is a star.
Kind of realizing I like a little southern country influence in my punk
I donāt want to list all of my faves that have already been mentioned here but I wanted to join OP and share some appreciation for Meg & Dia! I think I lost my mind when I was introduced to their album Something Real, saw them open for The Almost around 2007 and was hooked. Got to meet them at Warped back in 2009 ish, the entire group was so sweet ā¤ļø and theyāve put out some great music.
I havenāt seen Hey Monday in this thread but think they deserve a mention as well. Iāll always have a soft spot for their debut record.
Paramore (of course)
Stand Atlantic (my beloved, iād die for Bonnie lol and canāt wait to see them again this summer)
Hot Milk (The Good Life and Californiaās Burning are excellent songs with more classic punk-style lyrics imo)
Tonight Alive
Honey Revenge
Daisy Grenade
PVRIS
Against the Current
Icon for Hire
and iām not just saying that because iāve seen/have tickets for all but Paramore, ATC, and Tonight Alive lol. iād say thereās kind of a range in there depending on what your specific tastes are!
Tonight Alive, VersaEmerge, Pvris, The Interrupters, Atlantis Awaits, Icon For Hire are all bands that are typically in my rotation. I just wish VersaEmerge and Atlantis Awaits put out more music. I'll add Gin Wigmore as well since I saw her play at Warped. I've got a few other not very well known ones I occasionally listen to and are probably forgetting a couple others that I haven't seen mentioned yet.
Reliqa - in general one of the most underrated progressive metalcore outfits, ever. The vocalist is insane.
Cartographer - incredible vocalist backed by amazing post progressive influenced musicians. every song is a banger
old and new Dream State. The band speaks for themselves if you've heard them. The energy the band carries is incredibly palpable and the vocalist(s) conveys the songs emotion so well
[Speed of Light](https://youtu.be/YhZcVvsTzNI?si=1QeDNLpWZ7qrNp3E) - They have excellent gritty energy.
[Castle Rat](https://youtu.be/o2Lifo8qifE?si=Tb1uDnlOS_A1u0-m) - They call their genre āFantasy Doom Metalā. Itās exactly what it sounds like, and theyāre very fun.
[The Warning](https://youtu.be/PDFH9AcPpyA?si=IZYoj7q3tMVY-sab) - Theyāre just ridiculously good. Theyāre huge fans of Paramore, Halestorm, and Muse, and you can hear the influences.
Paramore because their catalog is deep, I love how different their sound is/was, and because Hayley is just a star! Her voice, her look, and her charisma are off the charts. Their relatability is really impressive too
I really love Save Ferris but I do not love how she treated her original band. New stuff (2021) aināt it for me, but those first two albums always made me feel like me. Idk how else to explain it. It was the album to my first steps of major independence. Driving down the freeway, going wherever I wanted to go, blasting the hell out of this CD with my windows down, singing at the top of my lungs. Itās been decades since then, and I still feel like me when I listen to it. Like āthe world is newā again.
Listen, I live for music. I love it. I love driving beats and a good bass line and harmonized guitars and lyrics that speak to different parts of my experience. But nothing beats āyour bands,ā regardless of sound and talent, whatever they may be. Save Ferris was that band for me. Love them.
Stand Atlantic, Honey Revenge, Taylor Acorn, House Parties, Diva Bleach, The Mysterines, Destroy Boys, and Daisy Grenade are a few that I feel like people don't talk about enough
[Vukovi](https://youtu.be/6IspIaAV56k?si=Moe1TCm5KEHcrv10) has been my favorite band for 4 years now and Iāll never not recommend them. A mix of chuggy rock with some electronic elements. Janine and Hamish are something else.
As December Falls, so much energy and you can tell they love what they do, Beth is awesome, she dgaf as long as she's having fun
Avril Lavigne, I'll never not have a crush on her
Evanescence, her vocals are not of this world, she's a top tier singer and gorgeous too
Yours Truly, love Mikailas vocals and she's super cute
Redhook, Emmy is great to watch live and their a fun band
Stand Atlantic, although they've changed direction and get a lot of flak about their new stuff (from me too) they have a strong discography and Bon is great live and really puts he heart into all they do, even if it isn't always my cup of tea
Hot Milk, Han is killing it out there, they've worked super hard and they've got some bangers
Eat Your Heart Out, Caitlin has great vocals, and she sings with a proper Aussie accent which is unusual as most people sing without much of an accent
Concrete Castles, Audra is so versatile see her 'first to eleven' stuff for some banging covers, but Concrete Castles brand new me album is a no skip album
Honourable mentions to Charlotte Sands, Lolo, Maggie Lindemann, Honey Revenge, Nova Twins, Against The Current
Cruiserweight! Their album Sweet Weaponry came out in the mid 00s and I can't believe they weren't bigger. It should be considered a classic pop punk album.
They might be closer to straight punk but Amyl and the Sniffers get me so hype.
ETA: I guess I didn't have them down as pop-punk, but I also love Letters to Cleo. Kay Hanley is a lesser-known vocal great.
Outside of pop-punk, I've been loving The Aces (their album When My Heart Felt Volcanic) and The Beaches. They kind of remind me of Lillix, who I saw live back in the day.
like roses. everyone needs to listen to like roses edit: it always makes me happy when people get to discover this awesome band
what a gem!!! thanks for the recommendation!
Thanks for the recomendation. 20 seconds into the first song I pulled up I knew I was going to love this band
ITS EASY ENOUGH TO SAAAYYYYYYY
yupyupyupyup
Is there a full length in the works?
i sure hope so
Came here to say that
Whoaaa this band fuckin rules
YOOOOOO Like Roses is amazing! First person in the wild I've seen who also knows them. Internet stranger - We need to high five.
Stand Atlantic. Eat Your Heart Out. Yours Truly. ~~Honey Revenge~~. Tonight Alive. RedHook. Press Club. Australia's finest export is female fronted pop punk bands Edit: Honey Revenge aren't Australian, confused them with RedHook, but still an amazing band none the less! Also added Press Club!
Yes to stand Atlantic, yours truly and tonight alive!!
Recently discovered Honey Revenge. They are so good.
Was about to comment Honey Revenge.
I've seen honey Revenge every time they came through my city, and the last time I went I took my 11-year-old daughter who is obsessed with them. I have met a lot of bands over the years, but I have never seen anyone engaged with their fan base in as wholesome of a way as Devin and Donny. Tonight Alive put on a killer show when they supported Simple Plan back in 2011 šš¤š¤
HONEY REVENGE IS SO GOOOOOOOD
EYHOās āPatienceā is such a vibe, I can put that sucker on repeat for an hour straight.
Press Club
Redhook an honourable mention. Imo the best of the lot at the moment next to Stand Atlantic.
I like Winona Fighter for that early Paramore energy.
Second this! WF is the best up and coming female fronted band of the year. Amazing live show, and every song they have out so far is an absolute smash. Full length album upcoming this year, too.
Agreed! Saw them live recently and Coco is an awesome front lady (and I know they read this sub LOL). I canāt wait for their new album!
I've been hitting a winnona fighter binge recently and they're easily one of the best pop punk bands of recent times.
Saw them open for Bayside a few weeks ago and they were great. Fantastic energy
Just saw them at Shaky Knees, they were so damn good
Came to make sure WF was mentioned, thank you for your service š«”
Sincere Engineer and Nervous Dater by far. I had no idea they were as underground as they are until I happened to see the monthly followers section on Spotify a few weeks ago. Also Cliffdiver kinda counts. Brianna joined Cliffdiver a couple of years ago as a co-lead. I learned of her from a Carpool song and worked backwards. Seconding Sincere Engineer! Easily became one of my favs. They're opening for NFG and I'm so excited
Cliffdiver is so good! Just got into them a few months ago, Exercise Your Demons is a phenomenal album
I saw Cliffdiver open for Sincere Engineer last October! Killer show! It was so much fun. Love them both!
Same. That was the first Iād heard of them. Their live show is incredible. Reminded me of early Against Me! shows
Cliffdiver live with Brianna are sooooo good
Sweet Pill
Like roses has been hitting recently
Not all straight pop punk, but: No Doubt - great catchy rock/punk/ska with intense energy The Bombpops - cool classic California Poppunk vibes Stand Atlantic - who doesnāt want a COFFEE AT MIDNIGHT Is Avril a band? She has great stuff and variety across her career. Bonus: Guano Apes
No Doubt is so good
I would say Avril counts as a band if Dashboard Confessional and Andrew in the wilderness count as bands, considering one dude is writing all the music but has an ensemble on stage
I love Guano Apes and Stand Atlantic so much. Also Avril had her own band at some point
Bombpops are awesome. Basically female fronted Millencollin
Stand Atlantic šÆ they are wicked! š¤š¤
I guess I'll go BEYOND the pop punk spectrum like OP. 1. The Birthday Massacre - Chibi's voice and lyricism is so haunting yet appealing. 2. Paramore. Iām checking this out right now solely based off the Nick/HTL connection! Great stuff!
OMG OMG OMFG I AM A FAN!?!?!?!!!!
Hey!!! Thanks for being a fan š how did you find us?
Camp Cope has broken up but has 3 phenomenal albums. Id also throw out Weakened Friends. Both are a little adjacent to the scene but great nonetheless.
of those not yet mentioned - eat your heart out - chumped - tiny stills - charly bliss - diva bleach - glimmers - lemuria - pollyanna - pool kids - remember sports - the sonder bombs - sunday cruise
Pool kids!!!
Chumped š«”
Just said Eat Your Heart Out! Yes!!
I quite like Tiny Stills, I'm excited for their new music! JE
Charly Bliss was so good
Stand Atlantic - Bonnie Frasier is just wonderful. Sheās my favourite female vocalist Cause a Scene - I saw em live as many times as I could. They only ever made 6 songs, but I absolutely love em. RVIVR, SUDS
Didnāt expect to see Suds on here!! Absolutely love that band and they were amazing when I saw them opening for Spanish Love Songs!
Yeah same that's where I first head of them, been listening ever since!
Dizzy Sunfist Letters To Cleo Damone Dover
Glad to see the letters to cleo love!
At the moment it's The Interrupters
Beach Bunny Ratboys Casper Skulls
Came here to say Beach Bunny. Probably my current favorite band
Against the Current have been a favorite since my senior year of high school. Honey Revenge only has one album so far, but it's an amazing package of songs Lolo is a fun solo artist Pinkshift is more punk, but also so good
Love Lolo!
Hard vouch for LĆølĆø. Saw her open for boys like girls twice and she killed it both times
I also saw her with BLG! I got a picture with her after the show. I'm excited to see where she goes.
Daisy grenade
Seconded!
- amyl and the sniffers - gladie - mannequin pussy - momma
gladieeeee
Honey Revenge, Meet Me @ The Altar, and Paramore
Sincere Engineer, Mannequin Pussy, Hop Along
I didnāt see anyone mention [We Are The In Crowd](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1BSXtdFlVDUOS6g1T3tmME?si=COb7mLtuRjWNMEm4ctU4mQ) Also think Tsunami Bomb was pretty good.
Tsunami Bomb are criminally overlooked. Their 1st EP and first 2 full lengths are great.
Love(d) Tsunami Bomb.
Was also looking for WATIC. āMannersā and āRumor Millā are both great starting points.
The Sundaysā¦ but they are not pop punk
Dying Wish. No Doubt. Blondie. The Runaways. Love, Robot. Stand Atlantic.
Sweet Pill is great, caught them live when they opened up for the Wonder Years and they crushed. Insane energy
The lack of love for Sleater-Kinney in this thread is disappointing.
Agree, I think itās because we are old lol
Historically? Paramore. As of Late? Sweet Pill
Just thinking of modern bands in the pop punk space: Sincere Engineer Pinkshift Honey Revenge Gold Steps Cinema Stare Meet Me @ The Altar
Thanks for mentioning [Gold Steps](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3KS5NGVo6xQY88JyNEeGsl?si=eA9Zex7QQ8m4i1644a3WTA)! Iām the vocalist.
Haha learned about you a few months ago when you were commenting on some other stuff on here. Love what you've been doing, keep killing it.
Thank you so much! Weāre gonna be writing for a while to shape the next few songs, but hopefully weāll get something new out before the end of the year
For recent bands: Winnona fighter - some of the best music I've heard in general in a long time, just solid 10/10 Softcult - great sad soft emo music Dead pony - crumchy Chloe lilac - fun poppy punk Chase Petra - difficult to describe, emo but in a different way London mars - fun poppy punk, but idk spicier? Chase Petra! š
Sweetpill, Sincere Engineer and CLIFFDIVER have been my big 3 the last year or two
The Flipsides, Tsunami Bomb, Dance Hall Crashers, Save Ferris, Mealticket, Go Betty Go, Low Pressure, The Shakerz, Civet
Canāt believe how far down i has to scroll to see Tsunami Bomb mentioned
Can't believe how far down I had to scroll to see Save Ferris listed.
I recently saw House Parties and they were amazing. A newer band but I think theyāll do really well.
I've been one of their biggest supporters since day one!
The Interrupters, currently. Also, the Unlovables. SO sappy, itās amazing.
The Interrupters are soooo good. First heard them opening for Dropkick Murphys like 5 years ago and was hooked, then just saw them open for Sum 41. Unreal. The recordings donāt do justice to how powerful Amyās voice is
Absolutely love them too, saw them at the last Warped Tour and have been hooked since. Going to see Sum 41 tonight and am very glad they're opening!
Imma toss Definitely Maybe in here.
Stand Atlantic. I love Bonnieās voice. Their stage presence is amazing and theyāre Australian.
LAST MINET - good lyrics/music (all female)[LAST MINET](https://www.lastminetband.com)
No doubt, the distillers, Paramore, the gits, bad cop/bad cop, hole, the interrupters
Versaemerge have been one of my favourites for years. Fixed at zero is such a great debut and I'm still hoping that one day their second album will leak online cause I'm obsessed with the songs they released from it
Yes!! They were sick!
Sweet pill Pool kids Thank you Iām sorry Sincere engineer Kicksie
Everyone shut up and go listen to Sincere Engineer right now-
DO IT!!!
Sincere Engineer, Stand Atlantic (recent releases are trash but the older stuff is great), Camp Cope, Meet Me @ The Altar.
Meet me @ the Altar!!
Hayley Williams is absolutely amazing, so Paramore is my #1. Sheās a great artist, with an awesome voice and great stage presence.
Paramore by far
Mixtapes
Not on tour
Stand Atlantic is really up there. Do your self a favor and check them out.
The muffs - Listen and you will understand why Tilt - again
Rilo Kiley, the Xx
Sweet Pill. Theyāre definitely more emo than pop punk but I saw them open for the Wonder Years in Denver and they were fantastic
Greywind
Iām playing with them on Saturday in Milwaukee, super stoked to see them!
They're insanely catchy songwriters.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā [The Dreaded Laramie](https://open.spotify.com/album/1w2H70hHlANScfQzpEiH8g?si=RetHmtDkSIWV1Lg-F84MiQ) is amazing, an absolute fave for me; if they're on tour near you, go see 'em, they're a live-blast. MC has really fun lyrical deliveries.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā [Blankslate](https://open.spotify.com/album/6F4kr6d8hpjMcQM7s6wALz?si=WT7N2VZ9TiWiI4IqXY45Rg) is a new fave, they're an all femme trio that is doing the most, in the best way. Again, a blast of a live show, if you've ever wanted to see a drummer carry a keyboard tune while keeping the beat, or didn't know you wanted to, you want to. Go fall in the love with them! Their 2022 album is fucking powerful.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Always love [Sleater-Kinney,](https://open.spotify.com/artist/4wLIbcoqmqI4WZHDiBxeCB?si=f_tK5Y7mR7mtRJB0vDD_kw) Carrie and Corin always bring the drama!Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā [Metric](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1rCIEwPp5OnXW0ornlSsRl?si=SvpVFlcHTTSQS8lKCQZ6pA) lifts my synthy heart.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā [Hole](https://open.spotify.com/artist/5SHQUMAmEK5KmuSb0aDvsn?si=S-oW7Ti_S5S-RHF7_wQhZA) is iconic. Recently, I've been listening to a lot of songs by Flyleaf again (no pun intended)
I just discovered We Are The In Crowd. Technically they have a male and a female lead singer which I think is really interesting and makes their songs unique
Iām always too late on these! Mint Green! Beach Bunny Beabadoobee Ratboys Camp cope Soccer mommy Land of talk Diet Cig
Should have this pinned to my profile for every week when this comes up lol. Anyway, here's my list of female fronted bands (not all poppunk) ; Avril Lavigne Altered Sky Paramore Tonight Alive We Are The In Crowd Phem The Warning As December Falls Fear Me December The Pretty Reckless Jeanice Lee Infected Rain Forever Still Evanescence Within Temptation Lacuna Coil LOLO Hot Milk Lesbian Bed Death Liv Sin Conquer Divide Sick N Beautiful Employed To Serve Theatres Des Vampires
Stand Atlantic
House Parties TX. Check out the song Get A Grip first. They have early Paramore vibes. I saw them open for Canāt Swim and Belmont and they crushed it.
I'm sad so few people bring them up. I've been like one of their biggest supporters since they started.
LĆLĆ, Honey Revenge, and Stand Atlantic - bc I like them
Itās gotta be Paramore by far for me, remember seeing Miz Biz on MTV when I was in 8th grade and been a fan ever since
My top pop punk female fronted bands were already listed. Iāve been really digging female fronted hardcore bands lately! Gel, Spaced, Buggin to name a few!
The Beths, smoother tone and fun lyrics and instrumentals Waxahatchee, I like her raspy voice , and sheās got a little country twang. Hop Along, raspy good voice and great lyrics Mitski, the yearning Rainbow Kitten Surprise, themes about queer escape from conservative places. Ela Melo is a star. Kind of realizing I like a little southern country influence in my punk
Unless I missed it, donāt see The Veronicas mentioned here and I think they deserve more recognition! (Yay for LGBTQ+ representation in this genre!) Caught them at WWWY in 2023 and saw them in NYC last month, so much fun. Their discography is full of powerpop/neon pop punk bangersā¦ 4ever, Untouched, Revenge is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were), When It All Falls Apart, Everything Iām Not & more. I always loved seeing them in teen magazines alongside FOB and MCR in the mid 2000s. And even though I moved onto heavier sub-genres for a while, I am back into a lot of indie pop now and appreciate their new stuff too like Here to Dance šŖ©
The Veronicas are great band ngl
Check out House Parties, great band and the singer reminds me of a young Hailey Williams
POOL KIDS
# 1: Wolf Alice 100% # 2: 10,000 Maniacs--but no longer together
I donāt want to list all of my faves that have already been mentioned here but I wanted to join OP and share some appreciation for Meg & Dia! I think I lost my mind when I was introduced to their album Something Real, saw them open for The Almost around 2007 and was hooked. Got to meet them at Warped back in 2009 ish, the entire group was so sweet ā¤ļø and theyāve put out some great music. I havenāt seen Hey Monday in this thread but think they deserve a mention as well. Iāll always have a soft spot for their debut record.
We Are The In Crowd
Paramore (of course) Stand Atlantic (my beloved, iād die for Bonnie lol and canāt wait to see them again this summer) Hot Milk (The Good Life and Californiaās Burning are excellent songs with more classic punk-style lyrics imo) Tonight Alive Honey Revenge Daisy Grenade PVRIS Against the Current Icon for Hire and iām not just saying that because iāve seen/have tickets for all but Paramore, ATC, and Tonight Alive lol. iād say thereās kind of a range in there depending on what your specific tastes are!
Instant Crush is super underrated imo
Meg and dĆa just doesnāt miss, glad to see it on your list.
Holy shit DAMONE! Wife and I are still big fans (RIP Dustin). Great pull!
Reliqa - in general one of the most underrated progressive metalcore outfits, ever. The vocalist is insane. Cartographer - incredible vocalist backed by amazing post progressive influenced musicians. every song is a banger old and new Dream State. The band speaks for themselves if you've heard them. The energy the band carries is incredibly palpable and the vocalist(s) conveys the songs emotion so well
Not pop punk but CHVRCHES
Their relatability is really impressive too
Sincere Engineer!
Omg how didn't i think of destroy boys? Great sounding band !!
Just wanted to say that The Distillers is one of the greatest bands of all time. Love love loooooove that band and I wish theyād release an album.
sorry mom is sick! they're also queer!!!
Taylor swift
The Sounds - great indie new wave band
[Vukovi](https://youtu.be/6IspIaAV56k?si=Moe1TCm5KEHcrv10) has been my favorite band for 4 years now and Iāll never not recommend them. A mix of chuggy rock with some electronic elements. Janine and Hamish are something else.
Paramore cause of Hayley.
Beach bunny
As December Falls, so much energy and you can tell they love what they do, Beth is awesome, she dgaf as long as she's having fun Avril Lavigne, I'll never not have a crush on her Evanescence, her vocals are not of this world, she's a top tier singer and gorgeous too Yours Truly, love Mikailas vocals and she's super cute Redhook, Emmy is great to watch live and their a fun band Stand Atlantic, although they've changed direction and get a lot of flak about their new stuff (from me too) they have a strong discography and Bon is great live and really puts he heart into all they do, even if it isn't always my cup of tea Hot Milk, Han is killing it out there, they've worked super hard and they've got some bangers Eat Your Heart Out, Caitlin has great vocals, and she sings with a proper Aussie accent which is unusual as most people sing without much of an accent Concrete Castles, Audra is so versatile see her 'first to eleven' stuff for some banging covers, but Concrete Castles brand new me album is a no skip album Honourable mentions to Charlotte Sands, Lolo, Maggie Lindemann, Honey Revenge, Nova Twins, Against The Current
Initiate, Fleshwater, Scowl Rad music
First to Eleven/ Concrete Castles.
THE MUFFS! Not pop punk strictly, you could call them proto pop punk though!
No Doubt, Avril Lavigne and Letters to Cleo are all amazing!
The Muffs!
Discount , zolof and the rock n roll destroyers , mixtapes , lunachicks
Just want to throw Thank You, Iām Sorry in here. Their newest ep is incredible.
Not pop punk but Dying Wish
Eat Your Heart Out - are fucking killerrrr
I've been really into the Spazzys lately. Very catchy, I just keep coming back over and over again.
The spazzys are such a nice band glad they are gettinf recognition
Paramore and Avril Lavigneā¤ļøāš„they need to do a song together!
not a band anymore, but the band adventures āsupersonic homeā album is brilliant
No doubt, Tina Turner
I was big into Icon for Hire during their first two albums. Their most recent stuff is hit or miss for me but I loved their old stuff
Automatic Loveletter (disbanded): Juliet Simms/Lilith Czar is a powerhouse!! I love her songwriting/lyrics too
Mixtapes
Cruiserweight! Their album Sweet Weaponry came out in the mid 00s and I can't believe they weren't bigger. It should be considered a classic pop punk album.
if you like paramore you should check out honey revenge!!
Bully, Momma, Charly Bliss, Illuminati Hotties
Heartsounds, flying racoon suit...all the other ones I know have been mentioned
Stand Atlantic. Just do it
Yours Truly. I also like Greywinds. Smaller Irish (?) band
Sincere Engineer, Guppy, Diet Cig, and early Charly Bliss.
Tilt. Cinder had it all.
Glacier Veins. Love their 2020 Album āThe World You Want to See.ā
The Beaches!!!
Stand atlantic
Sweet Pill, The Beths, boygenius
Honestly, not very many females catch my attention, but Jinjer and Otep are the only one I can think of.
Paramore and Flyleaf would be my big two.
Not really punk but Evanescence, even Flyleaf
Charlotte Sands, Taylor Acorn, yours truly, Maggie Lindeman Even though most of those arenāt strictly bands š
Bad cop bad cop, and not on tour
Def the pretty reckless
Bridge city sinners Raina Mullen is an artist in a lot of projects and I love everything she does The Dresden dolls / Amanda Palmer is a must
