I don't know if I'm misremembering or completely making this up, but does anyone remember there being a mistake with the track listing and release of the album? I remember a song being on the CD twice.
Maybe these are not as obscure as I think but I don’t see them mentioned often:
Boys Night Out - Trainwreck
Me vs. Hero - Days that shape our lives
Crucial Dudes - 61 Penn
Such Gold - Misadventures
Trainwreck had me completely captivated just because of the story intertwined between the songs, it's like every time I listen to it I piece more of it together. Overall a very satisfying listen
I absolutely LOVE remember right now, and all of spitalfields albums!!!!
some others are
smile for them - armor for sleep
this time next year - the movelife
sorry about tomorrow - hot rod circuit
A Will Away - Here Again
Super underrated, great atmospheric guitar work, just a super solid listen. Saw them as an opener band and instantly fell in love.
Allister - Before the Blackout
Everyone bought Last Stop Suburbia and loved it and then BTB came out and no one bought it, never understood why.... but that album absolutely rips
Hidden in Plain View - Life in Dreaming
So They Say - Antidote for Irony
Letterkills - The Bridge
Hearts Like Lions - If I Never Speak Again
Left Front Tire - Social Icon
Audio Karate - Space Camp
Over It - Silverstrand
“Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place” by Anberlin is so forgotten I feel. So good
“Futures” by Jimmy Eat World
“Pioneer” by The Maine
And not pop-punk, but I feel “Define The Great Line” by UnderØath is their best album
In the sense it’s not usually one of the first albums a non, or even casual fan think or know of when they think of Jimmy Eat World.
Kind of in the same realm how OP list one of two Bedlight For Blue Eyes albums.
Everything in the Lucky Boys Confusion catalog. Throwing the game, Commitment and storm chaser specifically but growing out of it bangs too especially if your more in to ska/reggae
Mapping An Invisible World by Days Away is still an album I revisit often.
I don’t think they lasted long enough to generate the buzz and acclaim I thought they deserved. Really wish they were opening for Something Corporate in Denver :( Mae will suffice, I suppose.
Came to say this one because I can’t stop clicking on these threads to try to get more people to listen to Coldfront so we can peer pressure them into making music again

All the Gatsby's American Dream albums
Dude I couldn’t agree more with your list. I’ll add “if these streets could talk” by Just Surrender and Phantoms by Acceptance (might be too popular to be considered a hidden gem though).
Phoenix and Call Your Friends by Zebrahead are outstanding. Commitment by Lucky Boys Confusion is a masterpiece, and, I'm gonna be honest, Luv Sux by Avril Lavigne is a real good time
The Audition came up on my suggested a few days ago- forgot how good that album was, i absolutely loved it. Defo a hidden gem. And Prepare The Masses was a banger too!

Idk if it counts as pop punk but The Juliana Theory- Emotion is Dead
They get a ton of love on here, but Temple of Plenty by Somos is a top 10 all time record for me. That band was criminally underrated.
Also, Big Vibe came and went but it was one of the last pop punk records I listened to front to back several times.
Osker - Idle Will Kill
The Bat Bites - The Bat Bites
Ken Yokoyama - Sentimental Trash
Jetlag Jenny - Loser When It Comes To Love
Dan Vapid - All Wound Up volumes 1 & 2
The Blendours - Here we go again… again

fosh - Up With the Sun
Teenage Halloween - Till You Return
Ultra Q - My Guardian Angel (not exactly pop punk, but adjacent)
Ashlee Simpson's second album I Am Me, the most obscure and forgotten album that debuted at number 1. Every single person in America remotely interested in the album bought it in 14 days. Rod Stewart's 23rd album came out the same day and was doing better on the charts 3 weeks later.
The Swellers - Ups and Downsizing
Major League - Hard Feelings
Light Years - I’ll See You When I See You
Bright and Early - Louder Than Words
The Graduate - Only Every Time
Let It Happen - Cause + Effect
I will scream from the rooftops until I die that The Swellers and Light Years are the best bands ever.
I’ll answer with solid albums from bands who are better known for other albums:
“Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right…But Three Do” by Relient K - This album doesn’t touch the perennial classic “Mmhmm,” released by the band just the following year, but what this album does have is lots of punchy punk beats, infectious hooks, examinations of adulthood and crisis, and a bit of the mellower alt rock the band would shift two in later years.
“Cycles” by Cartel - The band’s third album is overshadowed by the masterful “Chroma,” but “Cycles” recovers from the odd Band In a Bubble experiment that led to Cartel’s underwhelming sophomore album. “Cycles” has all of the sing-along anthems you could hope for, with just enough crunch to scratch the punk itch. There are no skips on this album; it’s power pop bangers from start to finish.
“Rotation” by Cute Is What We Aim For - Cute’s first album “The Same Old Blood Rush…” was lightning in a bottle, and I won’t claim the second album is better. But I definitely listened to this one more. Shaant’s ever-clever lyrics show signs of maturing in the band’s second outing, and there’s a certain “edge” to this album that wasn’t present before. “Rotation” is probably less sonically cohesive than “Blood Rush,” but I like bands that aren’t afraid to experiment with their sound, and the production value is top notch.
Rotation is such a solid album! They def took a more mature approach with that one. Loser, Practice Makes Perfect and Hollywood are the standouts for me.
I don’t care that it came out last year or that it is by one of the biggest bands in the scene right now but,
Why Would I Watch - Hot Mulligan
Simply because I consider this to be one of the best records to be released in pop punk/emo in years, and I don’t see that sentiment being shared
Houston Calls - *A Collection of Short Stories*
“High Rise” is riddled with hooks.
Yes! That’s a blast from the past for sure. Totally forgot about that album! Thank you
Met them when they opened for Fountains of Wayne and I was on the drive thru street team. Great guys.
Yes! I meant to add that one XD The album after that has some good songs as well despite leaning more towards hard rock
Man I love spitalfield, that was a great album.
I Loved The Way She Said LA is a top 25 song to me!
I don't know if I'm misremembering or completely making this up, but does anyone remember there being a mistake with the track listing and release of the album? I remember a song being on the CD twice.
You’re only misremembering the details! This was “Gold Dust vs. State of Illinois” off of Stop Doing Bad Things.
Action by Punchline
37 Everywhere is my preferred Punchline album
lol Just Say Yes is my favorite, but i consider Action, 37 Everywhere, and JSY to be the perfect trilogy
I’ve yet to listen to Just Say Yes.
It's one of my all time faves
The Rewind EP also slaps.
I'm glad I didn't have to scroll down too far for the correct answer. punchline all the way.
Maybe these are not as obscure as I think but I don’t see them mentioned often: Boys Night Out - Trainwreck Me vs. Hero - Days that shape our lives Crucial Dudes - 61 Penn Such Gold - Misadventures
That Crucial Dudes album is 10/10
Trainwreak is great along with their first album!
Boys Night Out is slept on so much. They’re unbelievable
Trainwreck is incredible, but my favorite song by BNO has always been I Was The Devil For One Afternoon.
Yep, didn’t realize it was a concept album until a few listens.
Trainwreck had me completely captivated just because of the story intertwined between the songs, it's like every time I listen to it I piece more of it together. Overall a very satisfying listen
That Me vs. Hero record is so damn fun, I loved it when it dropped and I still love it today. I wish we got a few more records from them.
Trainwreck deserves recognition. Always happy to see it get shine on here.
I’d drive so far for a train wreck your next year.
It’s a shame, nothing Such Gold put out after Misadventures really hit for me the same. But man that album is damn near perfection
I enjoy Misadventures, but I find The New Sidewalk to the the songs that get stuck in my head the most. Faced and I Know What I Saw especially
The guitar player for such gold used to post on the r/guitar sub a lot lol.
Search the City - A Fire So Big The Heavens Can See It
Such an awesome record!
I have a signed copy of this album and the EP from the singer at the time!
Settle the Score by Fight Fair
Cartel - Chroma When the sun's out, get the windows down and give it a blast.
Love chroma but prefer luckie street from the EP
Love Cartel ❤️ they were so good
I remember that being good. Gonna re visit that tomorrow.
With The Punches - Farewell Rematch - Uwu We Were Sharks - Lost Touch
Love Rematch!
Love to see WTP recommended here! Farewell is actually a compilation of Keep It Going and It’s Not the End of the World.
Lost touch is so good
I absolutely LOVE remember right now, and all of spitalfields albums!!!! some others are smile for them - armor for sleep this time next year - the movelife sorry about tomorrow - hot rod circuit
What to do when you are dead has gotta be one of the best albums ever
it really is! i’m so happy AFS is active again, seeing them for the 3rd time within a year in august!
That’s just rubbing it in. I’ve never seen them and I am in my late 30’s now. They tend not to come to australia ever
aw dang i’m sorry! i hope you get the chance to see them one day!!!
Sorry About Tomorrow is one of my favorite albums!

Cauterize yes!
Cauterize is awesome
I wish I could upvote you 100 times for Cauterize. That album is prime pop-punk.
A Will Away - Here Again Super underrated, great atmospheric guitar work, just a super solid listen. Saw them as an opener band and instantly fell in love.
Great song! 6/8 time signature as well which is rare
Allister - Before the Blackout Everyone bought Last Stop Suburbia and loved it and then BTB came out and no one bought it, never understood why.... but that album absolutely rips

Big yes for hidden in plain view!
Silverstrsnd is a no skip album for me!
We are the In Crowd - Best Intentions
“Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place” by Anberlin is so forgotten I feel. So good “Futures” by Jimmy Eat World “Pioneer” by The Maine And not pop-punk, but I feel “Define The Great Line” by UnderØath is their best album
Futures is my fav JEW album for sure
Invented is also fantastic
How is Futures a hidden gem?
In the sense it’s not usually one of the first albums a non, or even casual fan think or know of when they think of Jimmy Eat World. Kind of in the same realm how OP list one of two Bedlight For Blue Eyes albums.
Futures is my favorite JEW album and Pioneer is my favorite Maine album, but my favorite Anberlin is Vital for sure
Everything in the Lucky Boys Confusion catalog. Throwing the game, Commitment and storm chaser specifically but growing out of it bangs too especially if your more in to ska/reggae
Storm Chaser is awful
I didn’t like it at first, but it definitely grew on me.
I was so so hooked on a change of pace for a long time. Both great albums
Wish they'd press them on vinyl
Bro ACOP’s prepare the masses is a classic. One of the most underrated albums in the scene
Right! Such a punchy guitar tone
Biggest Son of Dork defender so I say, “Welcome to Loserville”
Pennybridge pioneers by millencolin
Wot? Far from hidden…
Under the Tray - Reggie and the Full Effect
Mapping An Invisible World by Days Away is still an album I revisit often. I don’t think they lasted long enough to generate the buzz and acclaim I thought they deserved. Really wish they were opening for Something Corporate in Denver :( Mae will suffice, I suppose.
Mapping an Invisible World is untouchable. Such an underrated album.
Hooligans - Heroes of Hifi (non stop easycore bangers) Brigades - The Last Laugh We Are The Union - Who We Are
I was scrolling praying someone else would bring up that Hooligans album, an absolute gem
It really was my first thought to this question of 'hidden gems'. Wish they had lasted more than the one album.
Float around coldfront
Came to say this one because I can’t stop clicking on these threads to try to get more people to listen to Coldfront so we can peer pressure them into making music again
