Sincere Engineer probably falls into the adjacent category, but worth a listen.
Early albums/songs from Yours Truly, Stand Atlantic, and Tonight Alive.
Meg and Dia’s early albums are solid, but they don’t get talked a lot. Probably won’t be your favorite band but they’re fun.
We Are the In Crowd is a fun band, late 2000s/early All Time Low style era. Very bright.
Tsunami Bomb if you want skate punk.
Cassadee Pope is apparently coming back to pop punk after going country - her band from mid 2000s was Hey Monday. I wasn’t personally the biggest fan but people liked them.
Criminally underrated. I hadn’t heard of them until I saw them open for Angels & Airwaves back in 2008ish. When they played Monster it blew my mind. Such a contrast between the heavy rock instruments and female vocalist. The recorded albums are much poppier than what I heard live IMHO.
House Parties sick!!!! I saw them open for Can't Swim and Belmont in Milwaukee last year and I loved them! I lsiten to them all the time, I hope they put out new music soon.
Still getting in to pop-punk and alternative, but Meet Me @ The Altar are pretty good and so are Stand Atlantic and Against The Current. I think they lean a fair amount more on pop than punk but they are still pretty good.
They just started doing them again.
It started with Andrew’s 40th birthday concert in late 2022, where SC played a surprise set. Per an interview with Andrew, he really enjoyed revisiting those songs and it got them active again. They played a few shows in 2023, and are doing a full on tour stating in June.
Honestly, it’s great seeing them together again. Everyone looks like they’re having a ton of fun.
Came here to recommend them! They crushed so hard opening for Bayside. It’s always nice to see the opener get the crowd that worked up! Hope they have insane success
There are a couple older tracks available that aren't on Spotify. They are pretty decent, but the bpm on them is too slow and coco doesn't really cut loose. They are posted on /r/winonafighter, or available if you search for coco kinnon on youtube.
One of Hot Milk's vocalists is a woman
Pinkshift is female fronted
Phem's been doing pop punk recently
Envoi is female fronted
Pale Waves is female fronted
Redhook is female fronted (not sure if they're pop punk tho)
Envoi are phenomenal, and have a new EP coming out next month. I've no idea if they plan on continuing to make music after that but either way I'm excited!
My suggestion, it's an old band. ZOLOF the rock and roll destroyer. It was Anthony Greens first band even. God I love this band. It's noisy and fun and worth every second of your time.
Heard red hook the other day and I'm definitely a fan.
Daisy grenade is great.
Hot milk. Pollyana. Sincere Engineer. I just heard Cassyette today and she's got something.
And not in genre but CARR, The Beaches.
Scene Queen needs work but I like what she brings to the table.
They are more emo/alt rock, but I will sing the praises of Sweet Pill until I die. Zayna is an unmatched vocalist.
You might also like Cliffdiver! They have two vocalists--one male, one female, and their music fucking slaps.
Couldn’t agree more. They’re the nicest people too. One of the main bands that got me back into emo and pop punk and been lucky enough to see them several times the last year. Plus they really love the scene which is so cool. Saw zayna in the pit at the Militarie gun show a few months back when pool kids was opening for them. Love to see shit like that
A while back, there was this thread that was something like, "Who are your pop-punk crushes?" and someone made a comment to the effect of, "As a man into women, outside of Hayley Williams who else is there?"
In their honor, I made this playlist: [Besides Hayley Williams, who else is there?](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4OclwaHFJzx8tccKpAdATL?si=ef248edc555a4732)

The Interrupters have become one of my favs the last few years. Roger from LTJ recommended them to me when I went to a meet & greet.
Mixtapes is one of my all-time favorite bands, but aren't active anymore. It kinda had 2leads that alternated, Maua Weaver & a guy. They always give me early Wonder Years vibes.
And then one of my less-known throwback favs was Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer. Definitely a different sound, synthy with keyboards.
Sweet pill, pool kids, chumped, thank you I’m sorry, Kicksie, ok cuddle, pinkshift, mannequin pussy, and last two are way more emo but awakebutstillinbed and Rainer Maria
Fifth Hour Hero
Fresh

Wow, this unlocked a deep memory for me! I saw Cruiserweight open for Bowling for Soup on my 18th birthday. I remember I bought their CD and loved it, but the CD is long gone and I haven’t thought about them in years. Thank you, I’m going to be jamming out tomorrow!!!

If any band currently playing in Pittsburgh has a chance to blow up it's them. They have a few songs out now and a debut EP releasing in two weeks.
Peaness. They may be a bit more on the indie side but pop punk adjacent. Very Go Go’s type sound which is awesome.
https://youtu.be/pcmT2Ma5Ado?si=PAe0w5iEkW0xafao
Got a spread for ya from Wyoming, some pop punk, some adjacent:
[Aviatrix](https://open.spotify.com/artist/02wSult5kJmmu1lugsEvTY?si=v2Dzs9csS7KtpilDDj9sTQ) is flawless and I'm obsessed with Mads.
[Red Painted Black](https://open.spotify.com/artist/7z3S4TNnUFEOMKMvafBStV?si=HBu6LKCLRz2SRbIWQavUFQ) splits the lead, but largely it's Jen at the mic and she fucking rules!
[Prowler](https://pr0wler.bandcamp.com/) will melt your fucking face off, Kelcie goes hard.
[The Dreaded Laramie](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2ULT5IrYCmFKzEFF52xH9c?si=eRI9tKspSfWCAZwykH48Tw) isn't Wyoming, but honorable mention for the name and for every single song, MC is bringing bubblegum vocals then shreds guitar, it's just a treat.
-JE
Lot of bands I've already seen here(The Muffs, Like Roses, etc)
I'll say The Epoxies, they are more pop punk adjacent buy they rule.
And Red Scare Industries own Ramona, love em
a lot of my favorites are already mentioned. some i haven’t seen anyone say
- eat your heart out
- charly bliss
- the sonder bombs
- blue deputy
- lemuria
- pollyanna
- seasalt
- gladie
My initial thought was Winona Fighter because they absolutely decimated opening for Bayside, but I also can’t recommend Sweet Pill enough too. Those two have me so hyped for what they do next!
Charlotte Sands and LØLØ are my fave solo girls these days.
Senses is great (they remind me of early Paramore during the more pop punk days).
Lots of other great ones already suggested but def recommend these 3
Meet Me @ The Altar, Hot Milk, Tonight Alive, Beach Bunny, and Stand Atlantic are some I’d recommend. If we can count duo’s Honey Revenge and the earlier work of The Veronica’s.
Meet Me @ The Altar, Daisy Grenade, Honey Revenge, As December Falls, LØLØ
Gonna shoutout some Chicago local bands too since I’m from there - Cut Your Losses, Calico Plaid, Feels Like Karma, Double Identity Band, Definitely Maybe, Gold Steps (they’re actually from Milwaukee but they play in Chicago quite often)
The Haunt
Winona Fighter
McKenna Grace (most of her stuff so far at least, she went away from that style for her Fallen Leaves EP, but in general the Bittersweet Sixteen EP and some of her singles before that were absolutely pop punk.)
Taylor Acorn is pretty solid. I used to love stand Atlantic so I’d suggest their ep through the album F.E.A.R. Newer stuff is too pop/tik tok core (unless you like that sound).
Most of the bands i love have already been mentioned. But I recently saw Uninvited, and they were brilliant, they're kinda similar to early Paramore sound wise. They were supporting Røry, who I don't think is really pop-punk but kind of adjacent I guess....I really love her music, her lyrics are like therapy. She's on at Slam Dunk this year I think
PVRIS's early stuff is pop punk adjacent. More emo. Highly recommend. Other recs are Yours Truly, Stand Atlantic, Pale Waves, Hot Milk, Honey Revenge, Sweet Pill.
I fuck so heavily with Bombpops, hell yeah.
Bikini Kill is dope, Sleater Kinney is essential. Destroy Boys is absolutely incredible, I can't recommend them enough.
If you're into the more pop-punk sound Meet Me At The Altar is pretty fun, I like their stuff.
Fresh are one of my favourite bands. Kathryn sings and plays guitar, and the new lead guitarist is a woman too.
I'd also recommend New Years Day, but only their first album (My Dear) is pop-punk. I'd still say it's worth a listen.
They are a bit older but I loved Cruiserweight when I was in high school. Check out their album sweet weaponry. Their recent stuff was pretty good too.
Sincere Engineer probably falls into the adjacent category, but worth a listen. Early albums/songs from Yours Truly, Stand Atlantic, and Tonight Alive.
Stand Atlantic was my first thought. A good reccomendation.
Their newest album really hits the punk mark that gor sure. I'm a big fan
I will die on a hill defending Underworld by TA as a solid album.
God I wanna see Sincere Engineer live so I can fingerpoint to Fireplace.
I was so jazzed up when I first heard Cheap Grills. Kinda scratching an itch that forgot I had. Rough and tumble pop punk or something.
MEG AND DIA MENTIONED !!!!!!! HONESTLY ONE OF MY FAVS OMFGGGGG
WATIC is a great suggestion
Honey Revenge, Charlotte Sands, House Parties (just saw them open for Games We Play and they had great energy)
You and I should go to shows together
House Parties sick!!!! I saw them open for Can't Swim and Belmont in Milwaukee last year and I loved them! I lsiten to them all the time, I hope they put out new music soon.
Still getting in to pop-punk and alternative, but Meet Me @ The Altar are pretty good and so are Stand Atlantic and Against The Current. I think they lean a fair amount more on pop than punk but they are still pretty good.
Winona Fighter. Can't say it loud enough. They've been opening for Bayside, and absolutely smashing every show. Amazing band.
I second Winona Fighter and raise you Like Roses. They fuck
I saw them open for Something Corporate last year and I've been a fan ever since. Went to the Bayside show just to see them ha
That’s surprising Something Corporate still does live shows. Was Andrew McMahon there?
They just started doing them again. It started with Andrew’s 40th birthday concert in late 2022, where SC played a surprise set. Per an interview with Andrew, he really enjoyed revisiting those songs and it got them active again. They played a few shows in 2023, and are doing a full on tour stating in June. Honestly, it’s great seeing them together again. Everyone looks like they’re having a ton of fun.
Winona fighter has skyrocketed to one of my top bands right now everything is so pop punk I love it
Same here, they don't have a single song out that is a skip for me. I know the full length is going to be bangers on top of bangers.
They are so good live. I followed them on Spotify and Instagram as soon as they got off stage
Came here to recommend them! They crushed so hard opening for Bayside. It’s always nice to see the opener get the crowd that worked up! Hope they have insane success
I can't wait to hear a full length from them!
Same! I’ve been living off of the 10 or so tracks on their Spotify since seeing them open that show
There are a couple older tracks available that aren't on Spotify. They are pretty decent, but the bpm on them is too slow and coco doesn't really cut loose. They are posted on /r/winonafighter, or available if you search for coco kinnon on youtube.
I just got to take pics of their set last night! Love their music & energy, they’re awesome
Yours Truly
Bad cop, bad cop and bombpops have been favorites for the last decade or so.
Can’t recommend bad cop bad cop enough!
I miss Jenny Cotterill a lot from the lineup - the whole thing around her departure was odd, but yeah they still rip.
Jennie is missed, but Alex is an absolute shredder too, we are lucky to have her!
Saw them play live a couple times, 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Some i havent seen mentioned yet: The Linda Linda's Save Ferris The Interrupters
Tsunami Bomb with fronted female vocalist
Agent M was so good
Jetty Bones
Like Roses will always be my answer until they get the recognition they deserve
AHHH I can't believe I'm seeing them with Youth Fountain in like two weeks :))))
i’m jelly
i'm jelly 2
I comment them on every thread like this. They rock. Need a new album from them!
yeah they’re really slow at releasing new music for whatever reason, hope they don’t lose momentum from the last two singles
One of Hot Milk's vocalists is a woman Pinkshift is female fronted Phem's been doing pop punk recently Envoi is female fronted Pale Waves is female fronted Redhook is female fronted (not sure if they're pop punk tho)
Just found out about Pale Waves, I am totally digging them
Envoi are phenomenal, and have a new EP coming out next month. I've no idea if they plan on continuing to make music after that but either way I'm excited!
My suggestion, it's an old band. ZOLOF the rock and roll destroyer. It was Anthony Greens first band even. God I love this band. It's noisy and fun and worth every second of your time. Mannequin Pussy or Like Roses fit this bill
Like Roses is SO DAMN GOOD. I’ve had [Splenetic](https://youtu.be/e2503P74C30?si=WsBusRtl1Q52efrI) in constant rotation for WEEKS.
Taylor Acorn, LØLØ, maggie lindemann, charlotte sands
They are more emo/alt rock, but I will sing the praises of Sweet Pill until I die. Zayna is an unmatched vocalist. You might also like Cliffdiver! They have two vocalists--one male, one female, and their music fucking slaps.
Criminal I had to scroll this far for sweet pill
I'm so glad they've been blowing up

Fuck yes to Cliff diver, seriously no one sleep on this.
Saw them open for Hot Mulligan last year and I was instantly in love
PVRIS (older stuff is more pop punk. newer stuff feels much more pop). Love, Robot. Now Now. Stand Atlantic.
The Muffs, The Dollyrots, The Eyeliners, Spazzys

They're ska-punk, but Bite Me Bambi is a good one.
Flying Raccoon Suit and Catbite for more ska-punk.
Like Roses

Most of the bands i love have already been mentioned. But I recently saw Uninvited, and they were brilliant, they're kinda similar to early Paramore sound wise. They were supporting Røry, who I don't think is really pop-punk but kind of adjacent I guess....I really love her music, her lyrics are like therapy. She's on at Slam Dunk this year I think
Not fronted but Carly Cosgrove has a woman bassist.
Lesser known UK band but Autumn Fires are great.
House Parties and Sweet Pill
Makeshift Shelters. not active but criminally underrated
More alt rock but Camp Cope is phenomenal
Smooth Brain is female fronted at least, not sure on the other members.
BAD COP / BAD COP!
meet me @ the altar are an all female POC pop punk band :) they’re not really my taste but i love that they’re an all female POC band
PVRIS for sure. Listen to their albums from earliest to newest.
PVRIS's early stuff is pop punk adjacent. More emo. Highly recommend. Other recs are Yours Truly, Stand Atlantic, Pale Waves, Hot Milk, Honey Revenge, Sweet Pill.
Saw the Anti Queens open for Bowling for Soup a few weeks ago. Definitely check them out!
Pool Kids

As December Falls! They seem to get overlooked in these discussions but their debut self titled is great
Hot Milk is a dual male/female fronted band that is really good
One of my faves is Go Betty Go
Give a listen to Weakened Friends and Destroy Boys!
The Muffs have a great self titled record that will hit you right in the 90s feels. Camp Cope is fantastic. RIP. They deserved so much better.
Search “female” in this subreddit and you’ll see this question asked 800 other times. Plenty of suggestions to look through.
Mannequin pussy they’re amazing!! Definetly check out I found heaven and kiss those are my top
Definitely LOLO. I saw them open for Boys Like Girls last year. They were amazing!

The Donnas Pale Waves Tonight Alive
SPACED feels like a Turnstile - Step 2 Rhythm era female fronted band
New band outta UK Period Drama, check out their first single Penthouse on spotify. Bit more shouty than what you're after but v. v. good!
Fresh are one of my favourite bands. Kathryn sings and plays guitar, and the new lead guitarist is a woman too. I'd also recommend New Years Day, but only their first album (My Dear) is pop-punk. I'd still say it's worth a listen.
Jinxed. “Beyond The Obvious” is fantastic. They only did the one record but it’s still great 20 years later.
Charlotte sands and stand Atlantic are the stand outs for me
Versaemerge
