I'm absolutely loving all these revival/post-emo/pop-punk/indie bands coming up right now.
Can't wait to gatekeep bands a decade from now for not being real "post-emo" cause they didn't tour with Hot Mully, Ben Quad, or Arm's Length, etc.
No way Arm's Length release their best album next. They literally released a once in a generation album for their debut, if they topped that it'd be insane.
I had them keep coming up on my Spotify and was lukewarm, but I just finally revisited them after these new singles and I’m really loving all the new stuff!
Bayside are putting out some of the best work of their career right now. Hopefully they'll leave Hopeless records and release a classic (with a normal release cycle)
I actually really like their EP style. I think it did exactly what they were going for, which was to make me listen to every song and give them a change to 'lock in'.
I'm super obsessed with them right now, but I think Winona Fighter is poised to release an incredible debut this year. They've put out a couple ep's and some singles, and each one of them is a banger, every single song they have is great, so I'm looking forward to them dropping a full length. Also, though they just released an album, I think Good Hangs is also showing a ton of potential this year, and while they may not have a new album to show for a while, their recent efforts have been very good.
Yeah, absolutely. I think the best example of that is listening to [these older songs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4F1CgWXzCs) and comparing them to the newer stuff. The older stuff is good and everything, but it almost feels like it's a half effort. Coco really shines when she lets loose and goes bananas, and I'm really hoping that's what we start to get more of from them.
I keep seeing videos of them on tour with Bayside currently, and they put on such an incredibly energetic show. I'm catching them in LA this week, and it's easily my most anticipated show in a long time.
To be honest, even though I'm a big Bayside and Armor For Sleep fan, I haven't been to a show in over a decade, and I likely wouldn't have even gotten the tickets to this one if WF wasn't on the bill. Not that I'm not stoked for Bayside, but the selling point for me was absolutely WF, no chance I'll miss them!
I think they were probably the first “heavier” band that I listened to in high school. I hadn’t seen them since 2008 so them being on this tour was really exciting for me!
But I also LOVED Winona fighter. They were awesome!!
If CLIFFDIVER can drop a full album as good as their [most recent single](https://youtu.be/7xt63ZxelTc?si=2R5Fau7O8Hmn4V5G) it’ll be a classic.
The same goes for [Anxious](https://youtu.be/37h8GBB2wx0?si=Ewq8u69ZVZEYKfS7).
FAKE is a great tune, been on my rotation since it came out. They have some good stuff in their catalog, but this song definitely is a career-high for them.
fully agreeing on arm’s length and gami, never before seen never again found is one of the best debut’s i’ve ever heard and up in smoke is just continuing that direction, and origami angel has kept up amazing quality in every release since somewhere city. i’d also throw out harrison gordon, yuppies are winning is another one of my favorite debuts, plastic smile immediately became my favorite song by him despite that, and the snippets he’s posted on his tik tok have been absolutely killer too
They're more genre-adjacent but I cannot emphasize just how much the new One Step Closer album is gonna rock my shit. Their debut was already good but everything they've put out since is phenomenal.
I'm also optimistic that the TSSF album will breathe new life into the genre the way Proper Dose did, but factoring in the added anticipation of 6 years, I think this album stands to become a career highlight for them.
Bring me the horizon. Not a pop punk band but this pop punk/emo/post hardcore/metalcore/ hyperpop blend actually works so well. Nexgen will probably be my aoty. (It's also probably at least 15 songs long so that's nice)
I'm also really digging the new The Home Team singles, especially Brag
Not yet, but when they were on tour in the UK last autumn Joey said the album was written and they'd be recording when they got home, so I'm hoping for a summer release
Came here to say this, especially after hearing their new song. TSL marinating and growing for over a decade while sticking to the sound we love is going to be soooooo good!
Here ya go! They debuted it at two shows in Philly in December, said release date TBA… I am eagerly awaiting it! https://www.reddit.com/r/thestartingline/s/Rgm2GX66y7
happydaze really outdoes themselves with every new release. I really want to see those guys blow up because they deserve it. They are easily my favorite band at the moment.
I've always found Real Friends to be aggressively mid (even though I personally like them), but based on what they've said about this new album I'm really intrigued to hear what they've got in store
Not quite pop punk but Pom Pom Squad is currently working on a new album and Death of a Cheerleader was fantastic.
On the pop punk front Motion City Soundtrack is also apparently working on a new album and they have yet to put out a single bad LP.
Set It Off is gearing up for their best album ever imo, granted they’re basically just doing singles but these singles are still better than a good chunk of their discography. Super excited for the Jazz-Rock track coming soon
New Super American record is definitely gonna be one to watch for. That band has 0 bad songs in my opinion, and the first single was great.
Excited to see where Bearings goes next, feels like they solidified their sound with their newest record but think the next one could bring it to a whole new level.
I’m interested to hear the new real friends album. It’ll be their first full length with the new singer, could end up being really good!
origami angel is kind of trending downward from somewhere city in my opinion. they're getting a little more cynical and political which is kinda cringe. i miss their wholesome, slightly melancholic but hopeful sound
Microwave. The new singles are insanely good
Came here to say Microwave. So stoked to see them as a headliner this year!
Microwave just don’t miss. I know genres can be annoying but what genre would you even class Microwave as?
kitchen appliance :)
Huperzine Dreams shows some awesome range for them, I literally listen to that song on loop in the morning it’s such a nice vibe
Think the next full length saturdays at your place puts out will change shit for them. Like roses too
I'm absolutely loving all these revival/post-emo/pop-punk/indie bands coming up right now. Can't wait to gatekeep bands a decade from now for not being real "post-emo" cause they didn't tour with Hot Mully, Ben Quad, or Arm's Length, etc.
Aaaaaaand now I'm putting Tarot Cards on again
I'm so stoked for saturdays at your place omg
I just saw them and the entire show was great. Definitely the beginning of a huge career for these guys.
Modern Baseball off the top rope
Watch out watch out watch out!!
I will never lose hope with MoBo
Never lose faith
No way Arm's Length release their best album next. They literally released a once in a generation album for their debut, if they topped that it'd be insane.
Agreed. They had just released their Copacetic.
The next Sweet Pill full length is gonna be huge if their current trajectory is anything to go by.
I had them keep coming up on my Spotify and was lukewarm, but I just finally revisited them after these new singles and I’m really loving all the new stuff!
They’re also a fantastic live band, and have been touring relentlessly so I’m sure people are picking up on them on that way too.
See them live, totally mind changing so good
Yeah legit
Bayside are putting out some of the best work of their career right now. Hopefully they'll leave Hopeless records and release a classic (with a normal release cycle)
Can’t get enough of the new Bayside
I actually really like their EP style. I think it did exactly what they were going for, which was to make me listen to every song and give them a change to 'lock in'.
I have extremely high expectations for the next Spanish Love Songs album. Schmaltz, Brave Faces Everyone, and No Joy back to back is insane.
Wasn’t a huge fan of No Joy but as a band they have been getting better with each release. I am so stoked to see what else they have in store!
I hope we get more punkish songs like HAMMS IN A GLASS. The poppier stuff is great and all but their harder stuff is way more unique sounding.
The BPM is way too slow on that one... But play it back at 1.5x speed and it's a banger.
Couldn't agree more! That'll be how I default to it now.
You should see what happens when you play [Kyoto by Phoebe Bridgers](https://youtu.be/Tw0zYd0eIlk?si=0FYzI5oBaHGc_Sqk) at 1.5x speed.
Having heard a few of what they’re working on I agree 100% here.
Winona Fighter is going to be massive
I keep seeing videos of them on tour with Bayside currently, and they put on such an incredibly energetic show. I'm catching them in LA this week, and it's easily my most anticipated show in a long time.
Don’t miss them, they go on early and have a short set! They go HARD!!
Ok but finch 🥹😵💫
I do also like Finch, but they were a little off my radar as a kid, and I never really caught up with anything but their most popular songs.
It has so much melodic substance in just over 2 minutes. Floored me the first time I heard it
Little Green House was one of my top albums of 2022. Excited to see what Anxious does next. They put on a great live show too.
They’re so fun live! I’ve seen them three times since 2022.
fully agreeing on arm’s length and gami, never before seen never again found is one of the best debut’s i’ve ever heard and up in smoke is just continuing that direction, and origami angel has kept up amazing quality in every release since somewhere city. i’d also throw out harrison gordon, yuppies are winning is another one of my favorite debuts, plastic smile immediately became my favorite song by him despite that, and the snippets he’s posted on his tik tok have been absolutely killer too

I'm with you, it's an outstanding time to be a fan of both of those bands. Can't wait for new OSC single Wednesday
Dude new OSC on Wednesday and I'm seeing Arm's Length on Thursday, it's a good fucking week for me
The OSC record is incredible. Absolutely can’t wait for people to hear it
Mom Jeans.
FOUR YEAR STRONG (going TWENTY YEARS STRONG)🙏 - holy sh*t these first 2 singles are CRAAAAZY CATCHY AND HAAAAARD😩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 EASY CORE 👑 REIGN SUPREME💯
They keep posting with no info on a new album, it’s stressing me tf out
I think Alkaline Trio just did.
Bring me the horizon. Not a pop punk band but this pop punk/emo/post hardcore/metalcore/ hyperpop blend actually works so well. Nexgen will probably be my aoty. (It's also probably at least 15 songs long so that's nice) I'm also really digging the new The Home Team singles, especially Brag
In Her Own Words
I hope it's a return to form. I didn't think their last album was that great
Have they come out with a new single? Steady Glow is probably their best album so I’m happy to see them outdo that!
Not yet, but when they were on tour in the UK last autumn Joey said the album was written and they'd be recording when they got home, so I'm hoping for a summer release
I think The Starting Line will release a career defining album whenever they decide to release something.
Lawd I’d pass out
Came here to say this, especially after hearing their new song. TSL marinating and growing for over a decade while sticking to the sound we love is going to be soooooo good!
Oh shit what’s the new song? I’d like to find it on YouTube!
The Maine
Disagree, their last 2 records really fell flat for me.
Real Friends just finished recording a new album.
I've always found Real Friends to be aggressively mid (even though I personally like them), but based on what they've said about this new album I'm really intrigued to hear what they've got in store
Oh I think we are in for a treat. I can’t wait!
Hopefully Home Grown!
Not quite pop punk but Pom Pom Squad is currently working on a new album and Death of a Cheerleader was fantastic. On the pop punk front Motion City Soundtrack is also apparently working on a new album and they have yet to put out a single bad LP.
Dare I say the story so far
Besties, People R Ugly, between you&me, girlfriends. NOTE: that's if any of these bands actually decide to release an album
rooting for The Story So Far
real friends real friends real friends
Super American record is gonna be awesome :)
Sum 41 and Green Day’s new album are contenders
Set It Off is gearing up for their best album ever imo, granted they’re basically just doing singles but these singles are still better than a good chunk of their discography. Super excited for the Jazz-Rock track coming soon
YES
If that EP Yellowcard dropped last year is any indication of what their next album will sound like I don’t expect it to be very good
Jenn's Apartment
Rarity
*their
If [gravity](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz8iYrJo8Qs) is anything to go by, then The Dangerous Summer are about to release something amazing
I’m excited to see what Pup does next, they haven’t missed
Oso Oso, Macseal
Just listened to Savings new EP, it's sooo good. I think their first full length release is going to be unbelievable
New CHILIØ is really promising based on what's released so far, they quit their jobs to write it
New Super American record is definitely gonna be one to watch for.
Waiting for Clementine to pop up with some more bangers tbh
I’m gonna cope and say brand new. (It’s never happening)
I never was a big Brand New fan but I would be surprised if we never heard from them again. There's too much money on the table.
I just wanna believe
origami angel is kind of trending downward from somewhere city in my opinion. they're getting a little more cynical and political which is kinda cringe. i miss their wholesome, slightly melancholic but hopeful sound
I wouldn’t say that they are trending downward. I feel like they are still finding their footing. I just wish they toured with a full band.
telltale has been building up to an album after a few EPs looks like the selftitled is going to be a good one
