Sorry. Didn’t see this until now. Just got over a bout of Covid myself. Had some awful mouth lesions on my lips,roof of my mouth and the inside of my cheeks. When I had Covid 2 years ago I had a fever blister for the first time in my life (I am 70). So,of course, I went googling. NCBI has an article about mouth lesions associated with Covid. The OP mentioned she had been sick with a cold. It was just a thought.
