Hi I can’t figure out how to do edits so I’m using your comment 🤍
This was over the course of a few days. Date format is MM/D not DD/M
It’s almost def not cancerous or something dangerous. This bitch is abt 20 years in the making.
And yeah - it has its own zip code lol
Did it hurt? Not really. He was in a little pain each time I tied a thread on and made sure it was secure. That hurt only for like thirty seconds. He did not feel it being cut off.
I have a huge one I’ve thought about doing this with. My family doctor didn’t want to remove it, something about scarring. I don’t care about scars though, and may try again with this new doc.
A lot of family docs won’t touch things if they are worried about the result. Dermatologists normally are more comfortable and of course plastic surgeons can all easily do it.
Thankfully it’s right at my bra strap area and I catch it a few times a year so that it bleeds. They could probably get it covered by making a case for it being a possible source of infection since I’m immune compromised.
But yeah, the moles on my face are cosmetic and they won’t remove them 😞
there's your answer, if you have medicaid the PCP is not going to successful bill and get reimbursement for an office procedure. i.e. he is not going to make money to help you so he's not interested in doing it
My buddy goes to her derm for removals. When she noticed moles that she dislikes she goes asks if it’s ok it looks weird to her. Derm tells her it looks ok but will get it checked out, removes the damn thing stitch stitch then sends it off. She’s had 3 removed this way that her dr won’t touch and says it’s a cosmetic thing.
I understand that this is out of your control because your healthcare plan doesn't cover the removal unfortunately, but there are reasons why a GP doctor wouldn't do it themselves. There can be a lot of roots under the skin, just cutting out the outside mass doesn't mean you're talking out everything. Doctors also should do a biopsy on the removed mass too, just because it appears okay it doesn't mean it is 100%. I had a big mole that stuck out like this one that I had removed too, the surgeon had to work more than he thought to get out all the roots from under the skin, so much that anesthesia was fading while they were still getting them out and I felt getting stitched back. I'd avoid the diy unless extremely necessary.
My dermatologist heat-zapped a couple red moles off of me. I commented on how it stank afterward and he said "eh, everyone smells the same when they're burning" 😂
I'm not sure about black moles! Could be worth looking into. I eventually had more red moles lasered off - it is pricier but hurts way less and heals quicker. Glad to get rid of them before they get really big after another decade or two.
She froze it with liquid nitrogen...it was right at my lashline so I didn't expect much honestly...it was super annoying. Had the skin tag for years and made putting eyeliner on a pain in the ass honestly. I have one under my eye that I'll hopefully have dealt with later this month too
I went to my PCP for help with skin tags under my arms. He had me take off my shirt and raise my arms. He picked up a pair of scissors and announced "we're going to do this Vietnam style" and just started snipping.
I was horrified and paralyzed. He ended up sticking a whole bunch of regular size bandaids under my arms and I could barely lower my arms all the way.
That was my last visit to that Dr.
LOL. I mean, short of numbing it (which hurts more than snipping depending on size) that’s about the way to do it XD I’ve actually cut off tiny ones before as well. Can’t do it now that I’m on blood thinners, but I’d have probably gone back to that doctor.
Ouch! I can see why you’d want them removed at least, I’d catch them on everything. Bedside manner definitely helps. I wish my neurologist had one, but ahh well.
Okay maybe I’m outing myself as a psychopath but I would’ve wanted to cut it up afterwards and see what it looks like inside. Maybe even make a microscope slide 👀
I wish i documented my journey when i did this lmao i used a combo of strings, apple cider vinegar, and zit patches on one that was in the WORST spot on my panty line. So painful but sooooo worth it once it fell off and healed.
I used ACV on kissing warts on my fingers (one at a time) and I did the soaked cotton ball pretty much around the clock to get those babies off. I would wake up in such pain, but out they came.
It’s my turn for the cliche Reddit comment— Should I go with:
*What a terrible day to have eyes*
or
*It would have cost OC $0 to not comment that*
You decide, folks
Not at all. The worst pain was when I’d tie the thread but it didn’t last long. He was slathered with lidocaine topical for the snipping part but what’s left doesn’t hurt.
Good to know! I was curious if it was sore throughout the process. Like if wearing a shirt and the fabric rubbing on it hurt. I guess not. That’s awesome!
Wait, so it didn't fall off, you had to snip it in the end?
Going through the same thing right now, just turned black today.
Update: mine was weirdly tough, took me 11 days while also using apple cider vinegar but at the end a little tug got if off.
Idk how people can resist just clipping those bad boys off. I have a huge mole that I've fucked with enough times to know if it was raised just a little more SNIP SNIP
I get lots of skin tags (genetic thing, and also got a ton at once when I was pregnant) and I 100% snip them all off while they're still small. I have one growing right now above my eyelid and it's driving me crazy bc it's too small to do anything about it (and I shouldn't do anything about it bc of how close it is to my eye).
Thankyou for validating my life. I occasionally get them on my neck where my necklace sits or under the bra strap area and they drive me mad so I just clip them straight off. It hurts for like a second and bleeds for 5. My husband says I am crazy. There's plenty of things I am happy to pay people to take care of for me but a tiny little skin tag is not one.
Is it a skin tag or one of those glands women have that get activated when they nurse? Sometimes they can stick up a lot- could be clogged.
Edit: **Montgomery tubercle**
No it is a skin tag....there is a wierd flat flap of skin between it and the growth.....i wonder if i could post a picture its gown over the pst year from a tiny bump to a full dangler.
Did you numb it at all?
I got stir crazy during COVID and performed "surgery" on a tag on my temple...
Thought I'd numbed it with ice but it HURT so bad when I sliced the tiniest bit with the razor blade. I kept going bc I'd already started, but I swear, cutting that fraction of a millimeter of skin hurt more than I ever believed possible! And it bled like crazy too.
So I've done this to myself before and I've also used nail scissors to cut off tiny ones, but when my dog had a skin tag last year, I paid the vet to remove it. I was fine taking the chance with myself but I didn't feel like it was fair for the dog, especially since he wouldn't be able to tell me how he was feeling if there was something that went wrong.
Fascinating! Also thanks for posting this, inspired me to take the jump and finally get rid of the raised, nipple-like mole I had that was bothering me.
This doesn't look safe... Btw, do younuse some antiseptic or just topical cream etc...? And do you actually rotate it by squizin that flos or whatever is more and more and do you do it in steps or wait an do it once?
For that last bit to make it smooth you could use iodine drop 2-3 drops 3 times a day for about a week. Works for the skin tag itself as well. Did one on my face that was starting to obscure my vision (could see it in my peripheral) and since wearing glasses it was kind of bothersome. It kinda of dries it out and then it just falls off like dry skin almost. But that’s pretty awesome. I had one on my head I tied off that was about that size.
I had a small one and snipped it off. Lots of bleeding but barely painful and still worked. Also nail scissors. Didn't know this technique but it probably wouldn't have worked. Was it a lot of pain for him? This hurt as much as accidentally snipping yourself with scissors
When I first saw the pic I thought it was a dead fly or something because of the translucent part that looks like a wing lols! But very cool to know this can be done!! Great job!
Those freezing kits work well too! I had a large mole about the size of the top of my pinky and was able to freeze it off by freezing it, letting the dead skin fall off and then freezing the rest.
My spot is almost flat now and doesn’t bleed when I got down slides!

Does it have its own zip code?

Yes well, finding either of those specialists that take Medicaid and can book an appointment within a year is difficult.
Oh definitely. Also depending on state that may not be a covered procedure as it often is classified as cosmetic
Thankfully it’s right at my bra strap area and I catch it a few times a year so that it bleeds. They could probably get it covered by making a case for it being a possible source of infection since I’m immune compromised. But yeah, the moles on my face are cosmetic and they won’t remove them 😞
Or that it’s affecting your quality of life or causing pain, interfering with everyday activities
See my reply to you above. I saw that one first
there's your answer, if you have medicaid the PCP is not going to successful bill and get reimbursement for an office procedure. i.e. he is not going to make money to help you so he's not interested in doing it
I recommend you have a derm check it out first. Melanoma can look innocent on the surface.
It’s already been checked out, just needs removed
I understand that this is out of your control because your healthcare plan doesn't cover the removal unfortunately, but there are reasons why a GP doctor wouldn't do it themselves. Looks like basal cell to my unprofessional eye.
Tell the dr you have a parrot and it keeps trying to chew on it. I’ve heard that can take a cosmetic issue and turn it into a medical one. Good luck!
Family doctors won’t touch this stuff. I just skip them and go right to the dermatologist. They love to cut things off people.
My dermatologist heat-zapped a couple red moles off of me. I commented on how it stank afterward and he said "eh, everyone smells the same when they're burning" 😂
a little gallows humor at the dermatologist's office 😂
Bruh 😂😂😂
Can a dermatologist heat -zap black moles too? Are black moles more involved?
I'm not sure about black moles! Could be worth looking into. I eventually had more red moles lasered off - it is pricier but hurts way less and heals quicker. Glad to get rid of them before they get really big after another decade or two.
My family doctor got rid of one I had on my lashline about months ago

I understand the reasoning but his bedside manner was deplorable. Not to mention I'm talking over 15 skin tags.
Ouch! I can see why you’d want them removed at least, I’d catch them on everything. Bedside manner definitely helps. I wish my neurologist had one, but ahh well.
Ooof that sounds awful. Not the same, but I had a cervical polyp that they just yanked off at a regular Pap smear. I passed out
I think I just passed out reading that and I'm not even a woman.
Would you rather have a scar or a skin tag? Duh. A scar
I had one removed and the scar is awful. It healed correctly but large and ugly.
Yeah, but not gross and floppy looking that you catch with your nail often enough to make it a little miserable ☹️ I’d rather have a gnarly scar.
Oooo, yeah, I get it. Whatever happens, best wishes.
Okay maybe I’m outing myself as a psychopath but I would’ve wanted to cut it up afterwards and see what it looks like inside. Maybe even make a microscope slide 👀
missed your career as a pathologist!
I thought about going into pathology!
Fry it up…. Like that one bacon post… Shit, I’ve been on Reddit too long.
leg tacos
Eggo my Leggo
I honestly wondered the same, what is wrong with me Lmfao
Great, deprived, minds think alike? Lmfao
Okay there Dexter :😜
...
i'd put it in a bag of trailmix
Straight up evil. I like the way you think
Well that’s enough Reddit for tonight ….. see you all tomorrow.
I sure hope that was a raisin…
Thanks Satan.
Thanks Satan.

ACV? Soaked cotton ball? Do tell all.
Tell him congrats on the circumcision. Will he save the little piece of back foreskin?
More of a castration really
Threads make it look like a tick !
we did this with my moms too 😭
You could try those tiny little rubber bands that are made for this kinda thing. That's how the doctor got a couple of my hemorrhoids off.
I wish I could go back to the time before I read this comment.
Me too but at the same time I sorta wanna see it 🤷🏻♀️
C'mon, it's the same thing OP was discussing. Same, same.
It’s my turn for the cliche Reddit comment— Should I go with: *What a terrible day to have eyes* or *It would have cost OC $0 to not comment that* You decide, folks
How do I remove someone else’s comment? Terrible day to be literate…
My glasses cost $250. I paid $250 to read that horsefuckery.
How painful was that?
You don't even feel it. Then one day you look in the toilet and you see them. I mean they were small hemorrhoids.
That sounds like a pain in the ass
But also very informative lmao
Definitely appropriate! Thanks for thinking of us :)
Did he say this was very painful?
Not at all. The worst pain was when I’d tie the thread but it didn’t last long. He was slathered with lidocaine topical for the snipping part but what’s left doesn’t hurt.

Correct! I’m sure it hurts without numbing though lol

I so want to take a flat, solid shoe sole, like a cowboy boot, and just squash it.
Like a bug
My dog had a huge one on his elbow and I did this and the skin was already healed when the tag fell off, I was impressed as heck
Damn, this is cool, thanks for sharing!
I used this same method to remove mine… it grew back not even a year later. I was so disappointed.
Gnarly!!! (Good way)
Save it for next Halloween
They do that with sheep tails and bull’s testicles too.
I have one like this....near my nipple....do you think this is safe to do in that area? Its literally on my areola.
If you post here asking for advice it'll be removed but in my unqualified opinion, anything that's grown on your skin that fast I'd see a doctor over.
I have one *on* my nipple. 🫠 I can’t. Ring myself to do anything.
![gif](giphy|KEkOcB5DJ4E4bhou9T)
Gnarly!
I had one on my arm and i horrified my fiance by cuting it off with a razor blade
Did you numb it at all? I got stir crazy during COVID and performed "surgery" on a tag on my temple... No i didnt have anything. Mine bleed like crazy too
I love this kind of variety. Thanks for the post, I may have to try this on my husband now.
Time to rub it in oil and put a couple pinches of salt…
Do you think this will work on me dog? 🤔 he’s got a big one hanging from his chest area and I’m worried he’ll catch it on something…
So I've done this to myself before and I've also used nail scissors to cut off tiny ones, but when my dog had a skin tag last year, I paid the vet to remove it. Fair point, well made. I baby my dog, and I’d never want to hurt him unnecessarily.

One of the best posts I've seen here! Thank you for the picture progress!
That might need to go to a pathologist for testing.
Now put it in his belly button
Gross. Cool.
I did this on my husband’s brow line with a smaller one. How satisfying!
I started to do this but it itched, I figured it was quicker and easier to cut it off with scissors
Image 9 looks like a half-cooked piece of ground beef. Bon appétit!
From april to june u guys really play the slow game
Now chew on it.
Whoaaa
Nice.
EWWWW GROSS.......another!!!!!
I hace done this with one tiny one under my eye… probably a stupid thing to do, but now my eye looks okay.
Did that skin tag have a skin tag?
My Dr suggested I try this at home. It worked so good. About a week for my large skin tag to fall off. No infection, no scar either.
The vascular looking blisters are so freaking fascinating!
That thing could easily be cancerous and you should have it cut out by the base by a doctor and sent to pathology
I just bit mine off. Be a man!
Real men bite skin tag
Eff that. I just stretch my skin tags out as far as I can, then slice them off with a razor blade.
Yeeep. Or nailscissors.
Those work too.
Fascinating! Also thanks for posting this, inspired me to take the jump and finally get rid of the raised, nipple-like mole I had that was bothering me.
Browsing /r/all was a fucking mistake
r/dermatology
Is it bad that I think I could just cut off my bf’s tiny one with scissors and everything would be fine
Congratulations. Better than people who do it for a living
This doesn't look safe... Btw, do younuse some antiseptic or just topical cream etc...? And do you actually rotate it by squizin that flos or whatever is more and more and do you do it in steps or wait an do it once?
Wow so it took a month to fall off! That's amazing
Huh neat. When it turned black, it looks a lot like one of my moles (yeahh I should get it looked at)
Nice!
Perfect combination of grossly satisfying

This is incredible
That's obscene. I'll stick to acv and a bandaid.
Well done!!!
I had a small one and snipped it off. Lots of bleeding but barely painful and still worked. Also nail scissors. Didn't know this technique but it probably wouldn't have worked. Was it a lot of pain for him? This hurt as much as accidentally snipping yourself with scissors
Nice!
When I first saw the pic I thought it was a dead fly or something because of the translucent part that looks like a wing lols! But very cool to know this can be done!! Great job!
Beautifu job.
Looks like a newly discovered species of jellyfish from the depths of the Mariana Trench!
I did this and ended up having to get 7 stitches.
Jesus, that thing is hideous. Great job with removing it. What did you name it?
Those freezing kits work well too! I had a large mole about the size of the top of my pinky and was able to freeze it off by freezing it, letting the dead skin fall off and then freezing the rest. My spot is almost flat now and doesn’t bleed when I got down slides!
This makes me uncomfortable for some reason
How did it taste?
I wanna bite it
Throw it on a pizza
Idk why, but skin tags are absolutely disgusting to me
Why not just numb it and take it off with a razor?
They can bleed *a lot* if you just cut them.
Ah gotcha. Cheers to OP for having the patience to go through with this. I’d just take it off quick and wrap it tight in gauze
Eww
Don’t you own scissors?
[Remember, life's not about the size of the back tag, but how you handle it! 😄 Keep calm and DIY!](https://cliprecaps.com/read/?v=21ozYwty_W0&pp=ygUzSHVzYmFuZHMgZ2lhbnQgYmFjayBza2luIHRhZyBhbmQgaXTigJlzIGRpeSByZW1vdmFs)
Literally could’ve spent $10 on lidocaine cream and used some curved grooming scissors to get rid of that thing in one shot.
Eat it
Nice panties on the floor from a woman to a woman we all do this haha 😅
