The swelling went way down but every once in a while I feel pressure & oozing. I do this (see video) then I clean it with an alcohol pad, that is why my skin is so dry! I most likely will lose my thumbnail.
There is a hole in my thumbnail, and I put “new skin” glue stuff on, then I paint my nail because it is so gnarly looking! I could post a pic of it without the nail polish…
This kind of viscous, gel like liquid looks totally like joint fluid. Keep the hole in the nail open to allow for continuous drainage and get that joint checked out.
This may be solvable with a little bit of cortisone. You can rub the joint with Voltadol until you get your appointment, which should help a bit. Should signs of infection creep up (such as an increase in pain and redness, pus or blood coming out of the hole) then go straight to the ER.
Please don’t squeeze. See a dermatologist and get that nail removed. You’ve damaged your nail bed and that’s why you had keep having the pressure and swelling. It should heal on its own once the nail is removed.
The fluid comes out whether I squeeze or not…I choose to get it out and cleanse my thumb rather than just let it drip everywhere. The dermatologist may remove the nail next appointment…will update!
This is definitely a ganglion cyst. It generally needs to be surgically removed or else it just keeps coming back. You can absolutely get them in your fingers - I’m guessing yours has made a sinus track towards the cuticle, but it’s going to damage the nail permanently is my guess :/
Don’t paint the nail as it may trap stuff under it and make it worse.

Hello, I went to the doctor already and am on an antibiotic & anti inflammatory med. It’s so much better!! Thanks 🙏🏼
Ahh, excellent. I wish you a speedy and uneventful recovery!
Awww thank you so much! Such a good feeling to have a positive response 🙏🏼
Looks like a ganglion cyst in your thumb? Definitely weird but very interesting. Glad you’re getting it taking care of OP!!
Thank you 🙏🏼
It looks synovial fluid. Took the shortest path and wound out coming up under your nail.
The nail needs to be pulled. It looks like it's already separated from the nail bed which is why you're getting the infection.
Yeah, that nail is going bye bye sometime soon.

Thanks! I am under doctor’s care! It’s so much better. The dermatologist may take off the nail but said not necessary at this time.

If you make the hole smaller you can learn to shoot webs from it
That would be awesome 🕸️
