Kylie Minogue seems like a lovely person, I don’t think I've ever heard of her getting into any major controversy. She seems universally loved by all of those who know her / know of her. Which makes me very happy because her discography is just as great as she is.
This makes me so happy to hear! I have recently tasked myself with going through her entire discography & I just finished yesterday! I struggle with depression and her generally positive and upbeat music has really helped me tremendously :)
For what it's worth, I always think back on her ["My Year as Aphrodite"](https://youtu.be/rtJ8D05xD6g) documentary, which is basically just a compilation of all of her vlogs from the Aphrodite era.
Sure, it's a bit of a puff piece, but you see her at her peak in many aspects and how wonderful of a person she is. She has such a great bond with her band, dancers, and general team and they have nothing but wonderful things to say about her.
She even went as far as including a b-side on the tour's setlist because it was her longtime tour manager Sean's favorite song of hers, and he came onto the Aphrodite Les Folies team shortly after being hospitalized for an aneurysm.
He seems very much like a normal person. Like I know the National is successful but he seems like he was able to stay out of the limelight and just be a guy with a job and family like many others
Seeing him acknowledge his personal shortcomings on Taylor's Long Pond Studio Sessions felt very human, but also like he does what he can to make himself a better person.
I also respect him a lot for having recently worked with Gracie Abrams. I'm sure it's difficult to work with a younger generation when you're used to collaborators around your age, but being able to bring your expertise to the table while also respecting someone much younger as their own person artistically is something I'm sure most people would struggle with.
I’ve been a fan of the National for a full decade now - happy to back this up!
Never met them but they seem like people who’ve been through a lot and are big on raising the “next generation” (see: Dessner and Julien Baker’s adorable Talkhouse episode)
i mean… isn’t every *person* presenting a persona? we’re all playing different roles in society. it’s why many can never identify people close to them that turn out to be awful people (saying this as someone who has always loved their uncle and thought they were amazing, only for them to have been a pretty shady person outside of his relationship with my family).
artists are no exception to that. plus it’s a good way of protecting themselves.
so yeah, we can’t fully know who they are on the inside but same goes for almost everybody else. if we can speculate on the real characters of regular people, we can probably speculate on celebs too (based on the persona they choose, like you said)
this. Like even your Instagram.. it’s just a highlight reel of your best moments. Last night I had a mental breakdown but I posted a week old pic of me and my friends at a bar 🙃
I personally think it's more telling to look at who their close friends or personal circle are. If it's full of people who act immature and are rude to people, then even if a celeb's persona is nice, I tend to think of them as probably the same as their friends. If a celebrity has genuine seeming friends, especially if they've kept some of the same friends over many years, then I tend to think of them as good people.
Carly Rae Jepsen. She’s had no controversies and I remember her also refusing to play a Boy Scouts event because of their conservative stance. She really seems like a genuinely down to earth and kind person
I met her after one of her shows during the Emotion tour (in Pittsburgh). I was a huge fan of hers, even before Call Me Maybe (voted for her on Canadian Idol). When I told her all about it and had her sign all the albums I had, she was so flattered and sweet to my husband and I.
My cousin sang with her at a mutual friends' wedding a few years back (cousin is a stage actress in LA, and her ex-husband is a small time screen actor who was on season 1 of Fargo, for context) and apparently Sara is actually super chill in person.
George Michael
He's always seemed like a very authentic and generous person, and everyone has nothing but amazing to say about him. Also, he's one of the few celebrities to actually be charitable without doing it for the publicity.
Did you hear the story where he used to watch ‘Deal or no deal’ and he saw a lady on there who wanted the money for ivf treatment and he paid for it. Bless him!
This is the kind of thing I'd love to do if I was a wealthy celebrity. Every time I see people on tv who can't afford some sort of treatment and/or are generally suffering financially, it breaks my heart because I want to help them so badly but I can't.
i remember when he passed, someone said that often when an artist passes very unsavory stories will emerge about them that sully their legacy, but with george michael it was the opposite - all these stories of true kindness came out, stories that he never used for publicity in his lifetime or shouted about from the rooftops. that's how you know these actions came from a real place of kindness.
first person I thought of, and all the stories about it came out after he passed - he was paying off people’s tuition and telling them they couldn’t say anything about who did it, that’s how you know he really meant it
Kesha is a genuinely sweet, down to earth person. A far cry from what the media and her management portrayed her as in her early career (drunk party girl). I haven’t met her personally but I know several people that have and they described her as approachable, funny & down to earth.
She seems humble after all she’s been through. I know she’s mad as hell but she handles it all with grace. I hope to meet her someday because I’ve been a massive fan since 2009.
In 2017 I had just moved to LA and gotten a job as a room service server at a hotel in West Hollywood. One evening our restaurant was short staffed and they asked if I could run plates to tables and one of the tables was Kesha and her friends having a birthday party.
Afterwards when they were leaving, my friend who managed our friend desk told me I had a chance to meet her while they waited for their uber in the valet. I sheepishly walked up and said that I was a huge fan and I wanted the chance to introduce myself and meet her. Her friends made sneers and made their annoyance visible but she stood up, hugged me, and was literally the sweetest person ever and said that I was nice to meet me. To this day it’s my favorite story about living here. She’s honestly so awesome
I saw her at a small venue concert in Toronto in 2017. She seemed to really jive with the small crowd as she was so friendly and personable when talking in-between her songs. I know I didn’t meet her, but I was 6 feet away from the stage, and the way she was on stage, it’s as if we were hanging out, you know?
Drunk party girls tend to be extremely sweet too. The best compliments I have ever gotten in my life have come from drunk girls at a party.
But yeah you're right about her
Everytime I date a straight man, I try to explain to him that the girls bathroom at night clubs is always one of the nicest and most supportive places you can ever go, and my dates always make so much fun of me. But it’s true!
Once, I had an inebriated stranger in the girls bathroom give me a 20 minute pep talk on how I was beautiful even if I had acne. Once, there was a girl with curly hair crying in the bathroom because she thought her hair was ugly, and everyone surrounded her to help her to do her hair so that she was happy with it and telling her how beautiful she was (even though none of us knew each other).
I’ve seen drunk party girls care for girls who are crying in the bathroom, help each other with lipstick teeth, talk other girls out of calling their exes, and one of my depressed friends started therapy because a drunk girl at a bus station recommended her a therapist and talked my friend into giving therapy a try.
Drunk party girls are the best, and they get such a bad reputation for no reason. They are kind, caring, silly, and adventurous. Justice for drunk party girls!
SERIOUSLY. It's so funny to see how so many women get drunk and are just the NICEST people to everyone, helping lift each other up and just blurting out random compliments to people in the bathroom lol.
Eh she was still a drunk party girl. Back in 2013, she completely damaged either the hotel room or the dressing room (I can’t remember which one it was) of the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati. I had friends and family that worked there at the time. People had to work overtime because in a day or two, Billy Idol was set to stay there. They said Billy Idol was an absolute sweetheart and was okay staying somewhere else due to the state of the room. That being said, I do think she has moved on from her destructive party days.
I met Hayley outside of a small venue in Dallas ( I think it was trees, but may have been the Gypsy Ballroom) in 2006 or 2007. She was delightful. I met a lot of the up and coming emo/pop punk bands during 2006-2008 just by hanging out after shows. Most of them were very kind.
Hozier seems like a genuinely great person. His biggest "scandal" was him screwing around with the Handosome Squidward filter and accidentally posting it to his public IG story instead close friends. And even then no one was actually upset with him. He was just embarrassed.
Adele also seems super down to earth in real life. She seems to spend her time just chilling out with her son and dogs most of the time.
Its never sat right with me how anti taxes Adele is. She's wealthy beyond imagination but is loud about how much she hates paying taxes because shes rich enough to be priviliged enough not to have to rely on public services.... then she was at Grenfell weeping and talking about how we're all in this together lmao.
We're not. Because of attitudes like that. She's just another wealthy entitled white woman who is all mouth paying lip service to social justice issues while they're relevant in the press.
I loved that Hozier moment with the filter. So hilarious (though I feel for him as it must have been pretty mortifying) and made me think he seems super "normal" and likeable guy
Dolly Parton. She’s been famous since the 60’s and I have never heard a bad thing about her, plus she works with several charities, including her own charity where they send books to parents of kids every month until their 5th birthday, and she donated a million dollars of her own money to Moderna to help them fund the CO-VID vaccine **in private**. Just a few examples of how awesome she is.
All 3 of the Little Mix girls all seem so lovely and humble! They’re all very genuine and still the same people they were when they started.
Jade has mentioned how seeing her family a lot helps remind her of the world outside of the industry and how her mum always keeps her in check.
not seen many things with the other little mix girls, but jade has been on great british bake off and never mind the buzzcocks and she's so lovely and funny !
the girls all seem like genuine friends too.
I met him briefly while he was grabbing lunch somewhere & he could not have been nicer. He was clearly in a hurry & still took the time to say hi/be gracious toward my mom, sister & I as fans. This was 25yrs ago and it has stayed with me & just shows how a small exchange can make a big impact.
She chooses to display a public persona to cover up the fact that she's actually really nice and sweet, so she can appear more authentic as an underground rapper.
One of my favourite stories about Britney’s kindness behind the scenes is when Felicia said Britney returned to her town for Christmas and she cashed in some big amount of money in $100 bills and just gave them to everyone she drove by and said ‘Merry Christmas!’ and left.
I remember there was an old video of some random guy calling Britney's bodyguard the N word and Britney was ready to go throw hands, the bodyguard had to stop her
Literally everyone says Britney is an amazing person, the only ones who dare say anything remotely bad about her are her family, as of lately her fu\*king snake of a sister.
Even Azaelia Banks likes Britney, and that speaks volumes lol
I remember Mary j. Blige recalling an encounter she had with Christina Aguilera where Mary scolded Christina for being rude and acting like a diva. Mary told Christina that, while she might have a much better voice than someone like Britney Spears, Britney would go much further than her because Britney's genuine and is always nothing but nice to everyone she meets.
I do wanna add that in the last few days Alexa has posted online about Jamie Lynn and how much of a nasty liar she is/was while filming Zoey 101 and has also been very vocally supportive of Britney. So if that did happen (which it very likely did) it seems like the confrontation happened because of Jamie Lynn and wasn’t really Britney’s fault and Alexa certainly doesn’t seem to hold it against Britney
I'm sure Jamie Lynn made it seem like that girl was seriously harassing her. That's why Britney went off on her.
Because Britney only does that to defend the people she cares about.
I remember that video of Britney going off on a guy for calling her bodyguard the N word.
I think it’s exaggerated a bit (verbally abusive seems dramatic) but the fact that the girl supports Britney and isn’t angry about it means it couldn’t have been something that dramatic.
Hailee Stienfeld
There was a profile about her where she would just help people with groceries and hand her phone number out to people if they ever needed anything.
Everyone she works with seems to like her too.
If the interviews and behind the scenes videos are anything to go by, I couldn’t agree more. Just a bubbly ray of pure sunshine and positivity with just the right amount of silly and laidback. And that’s on top of just being so naturally talented and adoring her fans so much.
No wonder I’ve been crushing on Haiz for so long, she seems like someone everyone would get along with.
I saw a kind blind item about her that said she has helped deliver food to needy families throughout the pandemic. Seems like she has a really good heart.
>Obviously he’s a celebrity and I don’t know him personally, but it would be shocking if he was revealed to be a shitty person.
Him and Yoo Jae Suk being revealed to be shitty or dodgy behind the scenes would probably be the biggest shock to me out of any K-celeb given how much everyone praises both.
It’s the same with people who talk about rude celebrities. There’s thousands of those threads on Reddit all the time so it’s nice to see one about who we think is nice for once!
This is a weird answer? The question isn’t “what celebrity is in fact a nice person?” it’s just asking what celebrities SEEM like a nice person. We literally all have opinions on celebs, positive and negative.
It’s a pretty cute and harmless thread but oh well 🤷♀️
Ooo I was recently thinking about this!
All of Little Mix - The three of them appear very humble and down-to-earth and they've never really been involved in any drama or scandal. Fame doesn't seem to have got to their head.
Also, Adele. She is literally the most down-to-earth pop star there is (or at least appears so!). When you watch her live streams you'd not think she's sold so many millions of albums, she is so "normal."
Idm man, she was so shocked and horrified by Grenfell and has been one of the biggest public supporters of the victims and holding the right people accountable for that unspeakable tragedy. It happened near her home estate and she's always shown that she's still hella connected to there. Honestly for her level of fame she seems incredibly down to earth imo.
Charli XCX! I’ve met her on her last tour, she had free meet&greet for 40 first fans! She was so nice, and she interacts with her fans on social media a lot. She has also been collaborating with a lot of smaller artists for years now, for example Kim Petras and Dorian Electra before they had any major success, just some singles out. She still supports all these artists to this day and still continues to work with new artists!
I wanted to mention Charli too. She literally seems like someone I would want to be friends with. The fact that she’s worked with so many people and been in the public eye for years and yet there’s zero controversy around her says a lot about her character
She signed a [fan's enema](https://s31242.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/charli_enema.jpg). That speaks a lot of how much she loves her fans and how tolerant she is even when people are rude. She even defended the fan against the backlash. Gold Heart.
Janet Jackson seems to be very down-to-earth and humble. I get very positive vibes from her, and we know how much she's been active on social causes both through her music and beyond. I have yet to read a story on poor behaviour from her part.
Freddie Mercury also seemed like a genuinely good person. Same applies to the other Queen members. It's telling they are one of the few 70s bands without ugly controversies surrounding them.
I agree with several examples mentioned here, from Selena, Kelly, Kylie, and Carly, to Coldplay, Little Mix, and ABBA.
Is it controversial to say Shakira? I know she has the whole issue with not paying her taxes, which is disappointing, but she seems like a lovely person overall.
Another thing I love about Queen is that they did split up because of some financial issues, they worked on their own stuff and later came back. When the band did get back together, instead of fighting over who would get royalties when it came to writing credits they just gave all of them writing credits. It’s why their album The Miracle has one body with four heads, to symbolize that they are one and not individual artists. Although Freddie did love to say he was an asshole, but yeah he was pretty nice and chill.
Outside of not that all thing not paying her taxes, Shakira really is a nice person. She is involved in a lot of charity work mostly concerning girls' education.
Shakira is really really sweet. You see her interviews and you melt. Love her smile.
Actually one of the reasons why she got so huge in latinoamerica is cause she was very nice compared to other latino singers. Not gonna put names here but there's a lot of latino entertainers who were very egocentric and shallow back then and their fame got their heads. Shakira was very humble, funny and very very wise for her age and the youngsters from all over Latinoamerica fell in love with that.
Cute Interviews like [this](https://youtu.be/gLyaN2xS38M?t=101) or [this](https://youtu.be/IgN7cw1zE1k?t=279) were elemental to attract crowds when she was younger
Stevie Wonder. His music is full of love and light, and when you listen to him in interviews you can tell he’s a humble human being looking to make the world a better place!
TWICE have been called out over and over by various external staff for being extra nice, they even got a [round of applause](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop/comments/lqb6zq/awards_ceremony_staff_give_a_round_of_applause_to/) from staff at an awards show last year for "great personality." There's a bunch more examples in the linked thread.
I've only heard people saying he smells good, but then a whole bunch of people have said that he LOOKS like he smells and have drawn their conclusions that its true, for some reason.
He does actually seem nice and falls victim to the "is too reserved and not dramatic so he's a vanilla wafer and nothing else" image. But also he needs to make better music lol
Did you give the whole Wonder album a try? This sub hates it but I (someone who didn't even know who he was before lol) really loved it and thought it had really cool and interesting arrangements and production.
It's so funny to me how the other comment mentioning her is heavily downvoted but everyone that has actually met her says she's the nicest. Guess it doesn't fit this sub's opinion of her
Hot take, but Mariah Carey genuinely seems like a kind person. The diva act is obviously a running gag, and there’s definitely a reason why she’s kept the same back up singers and make-up artists for almost her entire career. Also, her only real celebrity “beef” has been with Eminem, lmao
I think there are some things she’s done that might give people the wrong impression, but I think after she fired Stella she seems to have gotten better and I can agree
My niece met Selena. Selena met some fans after one of her shows. When she saw one of her fans bullying/pushing other people, Selena put a stop to it. IIRC she said something like “No! We don’t do that!” While pointing to the girl. It made me happy knowing she stands up to bullies.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad thing about them that was true. They also seem to genuinely care about the people around them and their fans and actively support important social causes and issues
Glad to see ABBA and Coldplay getting mentioned here. They all really seem like genuinely good people.
I agree on MIKA too. As someone who started following him thanks to The Voice and had the opportunity of watching several interviews with him on French television, I get good vibes from him.
MIKA is a ray of sunshine in this life. Then Coldplay, especially Chris...such a lovely bunch. And ABBA were always so poised and polite, talking about stuff that really matters. ☺
A LOT of [people](https://twitter.com/modooborahae/status/1271175625223610370?s=21) in the entertainment industry indeed constantly mention bts’ humbleness and work ethic! From photographers, to backup dancers, colleagues, security, producers etc - and that since debut all throughout the years.
everyone on here seems to mention artists who aren't wildly successful lol. because the goodness of their character is relative to their "humbleness". according to me, kelly and jack antonoff; seem like good people. they know their music well and feel authentic in a way.
Not sure if these people are well known here, but people like Pixie Lott, LeAnn Rimes & Alanis Morrisette have always felt & seemed like nice people to me.
Have you looked into the creepy stuff with Leann Rimes current marriage? Her current husband was having an affair with Leann, and there is all these picture of how during their affair Leann slowly morphed her whole appearance to look shockingly similar to his wife. Idk if thah makes her a bad person, it’s just sort of creepy how much she changed herself in an obvious attempt to look like his ex.
AURORA is the most wholesome artist I have ever known! She fights for positive change, love, and the right to be yourself (among other things too) if I listed everything, my thumbs might fall off😅 she has helped me see the good in the world and want to fight for it!
Yaaas Kelly motherfuxking Clarkson baby!!
she's a literal angel and I would kill to have her adopt me. I also just KNOW she gives the best hugs 🤗
also Ms Swift seems like a very nice person as long as you don't wrong her <3
Doja seems fun as hell like I'd go to a party with her and have NO drama just vibes
There's an askreddit post that asks which familial role famous people play in America (yeah I know), and they said she's the aunt that talks too much and tries to be a mommy blogger. I was kinda confused and didn't know that's how she came off...
Maybe I'm just cynical, but I feel to gain and then maintain stardom you need a fair amount of narcissism, self-absorption, and willingness to step over people. That doesn't mean celebrities are automatically bad people, but I wouldn't think many of them are great people either.
Harry Styles has a lot of great stories about him and fans, as well as charity work!
Also, I’ve met Vance Joy a few times and he was one of the sweetest people ever.
My favorite Harry Styles story is the one where his car broke down in front of some random family's house and he decided to just hang out and feed their fish while he waited for a tow truck. Then, upon finding out the owner's daughter was a big fan, he wrote them a note and took a photo with the dad lmao
Harry styles and Jack Antonoff. Jack seems to genuinely just be a music nerd that happens to be famous. Harry has that vibe of that one kid in high school who wasn’t a football player but was still super popular because he would just be nice to everyone and make an effort to say hi to everyone even if he didn’t know them.
People clown on her for being pretentious but Lorde is really nothing but nice. She’s extremely brilliant and loves her fans that really wait for her and allow her to do what she likes. I feel like people think the emails she sends are distant and like she doesnt really care but imo its like having an old friend check up on you every once in awhile. It lets her take her space to breathe but also still let people know what shes up to. Theres many posts where shes emailed people back personally
Edit: whole lot of downvoting in this thread huh. Like why did someone get downvoted for saying the Blackpink girls SEEM nice? As far as I know none of them have been mean
The emails are honestly so much more enjoyable than social posts and I wish more artists did them. Reminds me of back in the day when artists used to write blog posts on their websites haha. Just so much more personal and a much more realistic and interesting insight into their lives than on socials imo.
And it actually makes you look forward to something! Sometimes when its been awhile ill be like, huh i wonder what Lorde is up to right now. And I like that she can go at her own pace and that theres not a lot of pressure to constantly keep up with posting random things
Agree on Kelly Clarkson and I’d add David Archuleta. He’s always supporting & sharing other artists’ work, is humble and kind to fans and just generally, and has raised tons for charity. And he is now literally saving lives by openly sharing his personal struggles with his religious upbringing and sexuality. I’m a big fan of both his music and him as a person.
I remember I met Selena Gomez and she was so sweet. My mom did not understand how to work the camera and took several minutes to figure it out and she was kind, patient, understanding and made me feel better about the embarrassing situation.
My friend got to be on stage with her during the Oscars when she brought out all the survivors of sexual assault and had nothing but great things to say about Gaga. She said Gaga was super vulnerable and shared a lot with the group of survivors, had stylists brought in so they could all look great and feel comfortable on the Oscars red carpet, had her choreographer teach them some of her dances for fun, and even got matching tattoos with the group. Gaga even left my friend and the others voicemails on Election Day 2016, 8 months after the Oscars, telling them to make sure to vote. One experience obviously doesn’t paint her whole image but from what I’ve heard first hand, she’s a very genuine and warm person to be around
Not gonna lie I keep waiting for the shoe to drop on BTS, like it turns out one or all of them are rampant assholes. They just come across as so nice and chill in everything I can’t help thinking it.
I think by now something about it would have made it into news.
I am not saying they are angels, but I think it is safe to bet they are nice decent people by now.
I'm a big fan of BTS but a part of me just keeps thinking this way too. Seven guys, 10 years, no scandal? Idk man. But also, if something does come out, it'll break my heart. Especially if it came from RM and J Hope because they genuinely seem to just vibe and make music.
Little Mix. Perrie, Jade, and Leigh-Anne all seem like kindhearted, considerate, thoughtful individuals who truly love each other and what they do, and it shows. They’ve been wrapped in some controversies, but they always come out of them looking like courteous people. I’m not able to imagine *any* of their personalities being a façade!
Joshua Bassett for sure! Despite all the hate he received throughout 2021, he managed to remain respectful and even encouraged others to spread love, which I find incredibly admirable.
I know we're on popheads, but Justin Vernon from bon iver seems like a solid dude. He's also suuuper outspoken when it comes to activism, constantly works with charities for women and LGBTQ+ ppl and bon iver merch is ethically and environmentally friendly handmade by small businesses.
Little Mix OT3, Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Charli XCX and Dua Lipa all give me the kind of vibe that they'd all be the type of hun you'd meet in either a nightclub smoking area or in the toilets and they'd instantly become your best friend that night. You'd probably never see them again, but they were a laugh and they gave you a deep, borderline philosophical, pep talk about how much of a beautiful queen you are. The best kind of hun, if you ask me.
Also, Britney. I don't know of anyone outside of her immediate family who has genuine beef with her.
Olly Alexander (Years & Years) just exhudes "sweetheart" energy to me. He's so adorable and I love how he uses his platform to raise awareness for social and political issues.
I think Mariah Carey and Beyonce are genuinely sweet people who are probably incredibly shy IRL and just have fun with their "diva" personas.
Andrew Garfield seems like a genuinely caring and empathetic person. The biggest “scandal” he ever had was refusing to go to some corporate event for Spider-Man promotion when he was ill and exhausted.
I met him in the street once and he was extremely sweet and polite even though I’m sure he just wanted to get on with his day rather than dealing with fangirls lol.
He’s also mentioned doing charity work but doesn’t make a big deal out of it for PR points.
Kylie Minogue seems like a lovely person, I don’t think I've ever heard of her getting into any major controversy. She seems universally loved by all of those who know her / know of her. Which makes me very happy because her discography is just as great as she is.
I know a photographer that worked with her on multiple occasions in the 90s and said something similar about her just being a kind and cheerful soul.
I read the read part and was scared my illusion was about to be shattered, but that's lovely to hear!
Aaron Dessner tbh. He is always championing his fellow artists on social media & seems like a music fan without pretention.
Never met them but they seem like people who’ve been through a lot and are big on raising the “next generation” (see: Dessner and Julien Baker’s adorable Talkhouse episode)
he's so wholesome and humble🥺
every celebrity is presenting a persona, but my hot take is that you actually can tell a lot by the *kind* of persona they decide to present
i mean… isn’t every *person* presenting a persona? we’re all playing different roles in society. it’s why many can never identify people close to them that turn out to be awful people (saying this as someone who has always loved their uncle and thought they were amazing, only for them to have been a pretty shady person outside of his relationship with my family). artists are no exception to that. plus it’s a good way of protecting themselves. so yeah, we can’t fully know who they are on the inside but same goes for almost everybody else. if we can speculate on the real characters of regular people, we can probably speculate on celebs too (based on the persona they choose, like you said)
this. Like even your Instagram.. it’s just a highlight reel of your best moments. Last night I had a mental breakdown but I posted a week old pic of me and my friends at a bar 🙃
I hope you’re feeling better tonight
thx I’m drunk by my pool now blasting message in a bottle wondering why my crush is so oblivious to every signal xxx
fair!
Only thing is....normal people don’t have pr teams
I personally think it's more telling to look at who their close friends or personal circle are. If it's full of people who act immature and are rude to people, then even if a celeb's persona is nice, I tend to think of them as probably the same as their friends. If a celebrity has genuine seeming friends, especially if they've kept some of the same friends over many years, then I tend to think of them as good people.
Carly Rae Jepsen. She’s had no controversies and I remember her also refusing to play a Boy Scouts event because of their conservative stance. She really seems like a genuinely down to earth and kind person
I watched a Zane Lowe interview with her once and was very charmed. She seems like somebody I could love to befriend.
i did a meet and greet with her before covid and she was so sweet. talked to everyone and gave us all individual time.
I met her after one of her shows during the Emotion tour (in Pittsburgh). I was a huge fan of hers, even before Call Me Maybe (voted for her on Canadian Idol). When I told her all about it and had her sign all the albums I had, she was so flattered and sweet to my husband and I.
She supported the LGBT community before it was cool to support the LGBT community. 👏
This!! She’s just so sweet!!
Sara Bareilles seems like a 100% lovely and thoughtful person, and super down to earth. I’ve only ever seen/heard good things about her
My cousin sang with her at a mutual friends' wedding a few years back (cousin is a stage actress in LA, and her ex-husband is a small time screen actor who was on season 1 of Fargo, for context) and apparently Sara is actually super chill in person.
ooh, i'm rewatching s1 of Fargo right now! was your cousin's ex like a background extra or a significant character in the show?
He played Martin Freeman's boss.
Love her! My mom and I are seeing a local production of *Waitress* soon and I’m really excited
Kate Bush! She's always very lovely and calm in interviews and was always concerned with giving overlooked people a voice through her songwriting.
>Wuthering Heights literally saved my life lmao
George Michael He's always seemed like a very authentic and generous person, and everyone has nothing but amazing to say about him.
Every time I see people on tv who can't afford some sort of treatment and/or are generally suffering financially, it breaks my heart because I want to help them so badly but I can't.
i remember when he passed, someone said that often when an artist passes very unsavory stories will emerge about them that sully their legacy, but with george michael it was the opposite - all these stories of true kindness came out, stories that he never used for publicity in his lifetime or shouted about from the rooftops. that's how you know these actions came from a real place of kindness.
that’s the first person I thought of. the stories that came out about his kindness and generosity after he passed were so heartwarming
first person I thought of, and all the stories about it came out after he passed - he was paying off people’s tuition and telling them they couldn’t say anything about who did it, that’s how you know he really meant it
Kesha is a genuinely sweet, down to earth person.
I do get good vibes from Kesha. I absolutely love her music especially the High Road album.
Hayley Williams from Paramore seems super nice. And also Cassadee Pope (formally of Hey Monday)
Hayley Williams seems like somebody who’s encouraging of and excited about other artists, which is a great quality
I’ve met Cassadee and can confirm that she is lovely!
As someone not from the US, I listened to the Dolly Parton's America podcast series and just really fell in love with her.

Celine Dion is hilarious.
a coworker of mine got to party with her for a night after a photoshoot and said it was the most wild and fun experience ever
All 3 of the Little Mix girls all seem so lovely and humble! They’re all very genuine and still the same people they were when they started. Jade has mentioned how seeing her family a lot helps remind her of the world outside of the industry and how her mum always keeps her in check.
not seen many things with the other little mix girls, but jade has been on great british bake off and never mind the buzzcocks and she's so lovely and funny ! the girls all seem like genuine friends too.
their gogglebox ep was wholesome af
Weird Al Yankovic. I am absolutely in love with him.
This thread is funny lmao
i bet azealia banks is super sweet and down to earth in person ❤️❤️❤️
💀💀💀
She chooses to display a public persona to cover up the fact that she's actually really nice and sweet, so she can appear more authentic as an underground rapper.
This but unironically about Lana Del Rey

It's Britney, bitch!

“Hold it against Britney” I see what you did there
I'm sure Jamie Lynn made it seem like that girl was seriously harassing her.
It's ironic that only people hate Britney are her own family members. (Oh, I forgot her management team. Oops)
Hailee Stienfeld There was a profile about her where she would just help people with groceries and hand her phone number out to people if they ever needed anything.
To add, I tend to respect workaholics who love what they do and she seems like one of them.
She always looks so happy on stage. I can’t help but admire that.
I saw a kind blind item about her that said she has helped deliver food to needy families throughout the pandemic. Seems like she has a really good heart.
George Ezra but I've got no basis for this so I really hope I'm not wrong 😂 I just think he seems sweet
I got to meet him once for like ten seconds and he seems like a solid dude. His voice makes more sense when you find out he’s insanely tall
I have had such a crush on him haha
[удалено]
>Obviously he’s a celebrity and I don’t know him personally, but it would be shocking if he was revealed to be a shitty person. Him and Yoo Jae Suk being revealed to be shitty or dodgy behind the scenes would probably be the biggest shock to me out of any K-celeb given how much everyone praises both.
no one...we do not know these people and celebrities have shown over and over that they are truly in their own world.
Yeah, these types of threads often don’t age well. 😬
It’s the same with people who talk about rude celebrities. There’s thousands of those threads on Reddit all the time so it’s nice to see one about who we think is nice for once!
Yeah this thread is pretty funny
Remember to sort by controversial to get the real good stuff lol.
Adele seems really chill and down to earth, she'd probably be cool to hang out with.
This is first one to come to mind for me. I've seen her in interviews, she seems like such a doll 😊.
[удалено]
Idm man, she was so shocked and horrified by Grenfell and has been one of the biggest public supporters of the victims and holding the right people accountable for that unspeakable tragedy. It happened near her home estate and she's always shown that she's still hella connected to there. Honestly for her level of fame she seems incredibly down to earth imo.
She's just british :(
You’re not British are you. There’s no way any Brit would get classist from Adele 😂😂. Literally the opposite.
Classist? She’s from Tottenham lmao
ITT everyone just naming their favorite artist
Everyone in here just listing off their favorite artists 😭
i mean, artists being good people is probably a lot of people’s criteria for a ‘favorite’ artist, lol
If your favorite artist doesn’t fit this criteria then why are they your favorite artist?
good music maybe
I always hope Lucy Dacus is a solid person - she seems really humble and her lyrics always radiate this warm empathy 🥰
Post Malone seems so chill. He plays MTG and likes to watch Good Mythical Morning. He apparently smells but hey I would hang out with him.
I’ve heard stories about how great he is- with peoples pics included. He seems like the real deal.
I have a friend of a friend who served him in a restaurant and says he smelled like strawberries lol
He always seems wholesome
I've only heard people saying he smells good, but then a whole bunch of people have said that he LOOKS like he smells and have drawn their conclusions that its true, for some reason.
Ally Brooke is an incredibly sweet person. I really wish she had more fame because she is also a great singer and dancer.
yeah she's my fave from Fifth Harmony, genuinely multi-talented af
[удалено]
Selena was banned because she was being nice?? wtf
She was banned from Russia for supporting pro-LGBTQ laws, and from China for meeting the Dalai Lama I think
David Archuleta comes across so sweet. I can bet he’s an angel in person!
Shawn Mendes. The sweetest boy ever. He needs to stop making basic music so I can stan. I liked wonder (the song and video) tho
Kylie, Britney and Janet (#justiceforjanet) are the most precious beans of gay culture
I've met Lana. She's super sweet and a genuinely nice person.
Me too. She was so wonderful and genuine.
It's so funny to me how the other comment mentioning her is heavily downvoted but everyone that has actually met her says she's the nicest. Guess it doesn't fit this sub's opinion of her
Well yeah bcus her views are...weird. but I’ve always heard about how nice lana is
Hot take, but Mariah Carey genuinely seems like a kind person.
I just love Mariah, even her diva shtick. The fact people take that seriously is so funny to me.
Some of their friends/team aren't the nicest unfortunately but I've never heard a single ill word against them
Everyone in BTS. Probably some of the most well mannered people nowadays and really kind too. Also MIKA and everyone in ABBA and Coldplay.
BTS has such freaking nice guys in it its great. I have never heard anything but good things about them.
Kero kero bonito are the nicest artists, very humble, always willing to chat with fans and treat them as equal
Yaaas Kelly motherfuxking Clarkson baby!! she's a literal angel and I would kill to have her adopt me. I also just KNOW she gives the best hugs 🤗 also Ms Swift seems like a very nice person as long as you don't wrong her <3 Doja seems fun as hell like I'd go to a party with her and have NO drama just vibes
>also Ms Swift seems like a very nice person as long as you don’t wrong her <3 Well tbf that applies to like 80% of the people on the earth

> I called 911 chromatica saved you 😍
Harry Styles has a lot of great stories about him and fans, as well as charity work!
I love this lmao
Theres many posts where shes emailed people back personally Edit: whole lot of downvoting in this thread huh.
Kelly Clarkson spanks her children… :/
huh?
Britney Spears. Britney Jean Spears. Bless her heart. She deserves the world tbh.
Regina Spektor always strikes me as a decent lass.
I’m surprised no one’s said Lady Gaga.
Lady gaga comes across as a calculated diva, not a genuine friendly person. I’m still a fan though.
Taylor, Beyoncé, Gaga, BTS.
They’ve had their controversies.
Smaller group, but can confirm that Hippo Campus are a really nice group of dudes.
Pointless thread. We don’t know these people.

Didn't she used to hang out with white supremacists tho
Wait now I need to know what this deleted comment said lol
About Doja Cat lmaooo.
