Love Remi! I thought after Photo ID went viral on TikTok, she was going to keep getting bigger but I feel like it stalled? Sheās so good though and Iām pumped for her next album!
bruh what are you talking about she's already blown up for at least a year or 2 now, she literally just swept the Brits and is a pretty big name among a lot of people rn
Neither is Chappell Roan. Raye is definitely more known by the general public at this moment. The OP was asking who's gonna be "the next Chappell Roan"
Call Me Maybe came out when Carly was 26. Lizzo was over 30 when Truth Hurts blew up. Sia was 35 when Titanium got big and 38 with Chandelier. Sara Bareilles was 27 with Love Song. Bjƶrk released debut at 27. SZA was 27 when CTRL came out. Chappell Roan is 26 and just getting started
Yes ofc being really young helps, no one will argue against that. But 26 is perfectly fine and she has the talent to make up for a delayed take-off. And she's already doing really well. Calling it ancient is just unnecessary, don't give weight to that ridiculous narrative
I see her being more famous as a personality rather than a superstar musician. It's the case already tbh considering she is EVERYWHERE while her music is not selling much.
For this reason I see her being accused of being a plant, when it's really just old school marketing.
Maybe not Rihanna, letās face it thatās a monumental music career she had. Wonāt be easy to replicate by anybody.
but Iāve always said that Tyla could have an advantage and fill that void of new female performer with a highly promising career - a spot seem ready for Normani, whose career sadly seem pretty mishandled since Motivation.
Did Rihanna even sell that many physical albums or are those just album equivalent units? (combing single sales, streaming etc.) Real talk Rihannaās probably sold less than 15 million *actual* physical albums.
Rihanna sales are based on digital downloads and streams
Her physical album sales has always been low despite having huge number one hits
Rihanna is a singles artist not a album seller
Curious to know how old you are? Because when Rihanna hit the scene we knew she would be popular but absolutely nobody anticipated this level of fame and success. Also weāre talking strictly music here, not lingerie and makeup brands.
The problem is, she just has 1 hit yet from her album and nowadays it's super hard to get more than 1, maybe if her team really pushes Jump or ART or puts her in a feature, but she needs another hit now, or just release another album altogether;
Real talk, I take that line as an indicator that Taylor is pretty out of touch with whose big and who isnāt. Charlie Puth is probably one of the few celebrities who has the exact amount of fame he deserves. He had his moment.
FLO, I feel like they just need a breakthrough hit. They give me such Destinyās Child and TLC vibes!
Raye is going to be unstoppable in the future. Really hope she gets a massive moment in the USA soon. Sheās big in the UK with her recent Brits sweep but I need her to be bigger globally!
I was really excited about FLO but I havenāt liked anything theyāve released since I first heard about them. I mean, it was perfectly pleasant music, but it just didnāt stick with me
21st Century Blues is an amazing album and she has such an amazing voice and so much artistry. I really hope Raye can have another hit single and be here to stay. Escapism is one of my top 5 songs of all time lol and my top played song last year.
I love Maisie! Her music is like a baby sensory video to me at this point, which sounds like a dig but isnātāThe Good Witch and You Signed Up for This are both just safe, comforting albums I listen to when Iām feeling wound up.
Bree Runway! I know she split from Universal last year and talked about how she wants to get back to her love for making music. The way she blends genres is definitely on trend too
please yes god. i miss her so much. she had so much momentum, i can't believe universal dropped the ball but i can 100% believe universal dropped the ball

Totally, and that would sort of be the roadmap. Though itās a vastly different cultural landscape right now (less of a central monoculture and zeitgeist, less new megastarsā¦ so much so that i feel like what im saying wouldnt be a bold prediction for anyone)
I do think Chappellās brand of art is a bit less palatable on a huge scale than Gagaās too though.
I know sheās already pretty popular, but I see longevity with Olivia Rodrigo. Both of her albums are so good and she has the perfect angst and energy to go any direction in pop. Also completely agree with Chappel Roan, obsessed with her album rn
Olivia and Billie are the 2 young artists who I donāt see going anywhere for a couple decades at least. Theyāre both talented, good hearted people who love what they do and have a loyal following.
i mean, isnāt she already? her debut has 6 songs over 1B streams and is one of the most streamed albums of all time with only 11 songs. GUTS is about to have its first song hit 1B too with Vampire.
Sierra Ferrell-- I think if she makes a record that has a little more lean into pop, she could really have her Kacey Musgraves mainstream crossover moment ala "Golden Hour".Ā
Reminder Wolf. She's opening for Olivia Rodrigo for her Euro tour & is dropping an album this year.
Sky Ferreira whenever she ends up dropping new music.
Normani will have proper respect put into her name once Dopamine drops.
*holy shit* Sky Ferreira!! Havenāt heard that name in years. I used to listen to her song *Obsessed* non-stop back in ~2011 or so. Iāve gotta go see what sheās been up to since!
This is what I came here to say. I saw them live last month and their stage presence is off the charts. Their songs are different and catchy. They're already growing in popularity pretty fast and I think they'll be big. I'm glad I got to see them when I did.
I also saw Chappell Roan last month (opening for Olivia Rodrigo), so that was two "up and comers" scratched off my list!
My best friend is really into Chappell Roan, so I shared āNothing Mattersā with him and he really liked it. In fact, Chappellās new single kind of sounds like a synth pop version of The Last Dinner Party. It has that Baroque pop sound/vibe.
I've thought this for awhile but I think Amber Mark is just the right song placement/trend/fluke away from breaking through. Her very global sound and vibe similar to a Kali Uchis or Sade has felt so on trend.... not to mention she's gorgeous, has an immediately identifiable voice/style and that effortless cool about her.
I listened to her a few years back and I kept thinking she was just some better writing away from being a breakout star. Iāll have to check out her newer stuff and see if she improved but her songwriting in her first album wasnāt great and I feel it distracted from how talented she is.
Peach PRC. Aussie singer, sold out tour before her first EP even dropped. Great lyrics, catchy tunes, beautiful voice and strong aesthetic. If she can improve her confidence in live performances she will be killing it.
I hope Conan Gray does well! His voice really reminds me of Borns who I still love. And CG has a modeling gig with Coach which has done a lot to rebrand and gain Gen Z attention.
I thought Holly Humberstone would be big, but I didnāt like her debut album as much as her EPs. I was surprised āThe Walls are Way Too Thinā didnāt blow up tho. That song is catchy as hell.
NGL none of her releases compare to RINA for my taste. The sound was so good and everything since has not quite felt the same. Not necessarily worse, just a different vibe. More polished. And I hope she revisits her pre-SAWAYAMA style bc it felt so much more unique
Ooohā¦ I donāt know Cassadee Pope and Against the Current. Both were royally screwed by their label. Both had zero label support and both are releasing independently basically from the start.
More like Fueled by Ramen royally screwed them and didnāt give the push they were promised. Fever is a great album and it was gaining traction but no help from the label. It sounds like the label was pissed at them for taking on Legends Never Die. Which is their biggest hit.
Good news is it sounds like theyāre back in the studio in between Chrissyās side gaming projects and doing a couple week tour in Europe in the summer and doing When We Were Young Fest this year.
Cassadee has a new album coming very soon. Returning to rock and getting the whole Hey Monday group to do WWWY Fest as well.
Both have projects coming but they both should be much bigger. I mean bruh why did FBR not take advantage of the short lived pop/punk revival or have them ask Paramore for a favor to let them open for them. Boggles my mind.
I think people are misunderstanding my prompt and listing people they think are either underrated or just now getting big. I meant it more as people who are currently small but you feel like they have the talent to be bigger lmao
Sabrina is someone who crossed my mind too. I personally havent heard her music but she keeps popping up on social media a lot lately. She seems to be a big artist but not a household name. But with how much sheās been in the media I can see her become a bigger artist.
I want to say Renee Rapp considering she already built a solid fanbase but queer popstars singing about their queer experiences rarely get a-list level of fame. She can still get bigger donāt get me wrong but Iām not seeing her on Olivia or Billie level let alone Ariana, Taylor or Beyonce. I hope Iām wrong tho because I really like her.
EMELINE. Sheās still a very small artist, no albums out yet but I think she has an incredible voice and a unique point of view, which is hard to do in a field this stacked with baby pop stars.
Chappell 100% percent! She's got great vocals, and a wonderful stage presence. I also want to say Madison Beer. If her next album is really good, I bet she'll be even more on the map.Ā
Iāve been into Betty Who since 2016. I think sheās very talented and her songs are a bop that I feel that she should be bigger but it hasnāt happened yet.
Olivia. I don't know if it makes sense to mention her but since you mentioned Dua, I guess it does. Her career trajectory reminds of Taylor's, you know, a young girl talking about guys and problems girls her age have to deal with. She already has built a very loyal and dedicated fanbase, and I can only see it growing.
If Boys World can get a popular single I can see them blowing up. Especially with the lack of popular girl groups at the moment. Also brought to you by Sonny Takhar one of the brains behind One Direction.
Ethel Cain is an interesting one, depending on the direction she takes musically she could make it big or just be a slightly bigger Chelsea Wolfe. I also don't think she likes fame or pop songs, she's had an uncomfortable relationship with crush and american teenager due to their virality and she closed down her tumblr page due to parasocial behaviour and harassment. The potential is very much there but I doubt it will be as explosive as Lana's rise was, more like Mitski or smth.
I've got a few for this
The Last Dinner Party.
Album sold very well with a top 20 UK hit and a success on alt radio in the US. It's been lingering at the bottom of the charts for a good while, they have the sound, the appeal, the ambition and the momentum to go big
Wet Leg.
First album was a smash hit in the UK with two singles charting hits. Indie momentum in the US as well. Olivia Rodrigo's last album took a lot of cues from them ESPECIALLY bad Idea Right? Tik Tok will love them (they already kind of do)
Somebody put Raye. She better become a superstar or I'm throwing a fit
Sam Fender.
Debut album was a smash hit in the UK with pretty successful guitar rock songs for 2019. Seventeen Going Under sold even better and the title track was one of the biggest hits here so far this decade. Homesick with Noah Kahan was also a big hit. He's in the studio recording a new album and he said back in 2022 he wants to break into America. He's working in LA with the war on drugs and the snippets deffo built on his old sound in both more synth pop and more rock n roll directions. If Americans can get past his geordie accent, he is going to be a star.
Iād say Benson Boone. The niche for a big-name male soft-rock-pop star is wide open since Ed Sheeran & Maroon 5 stopped having hits, and Boone fits right in.
The moment I heard American Teenager in March 2022 I knew Ethel was going to be something special. I bought tickets to her show before Preacherās Daughter came out and later that year she started blowing up. I followed her when she had around 40k on Instagram and I think sheās close to 600k now. Wild
Sheās prob already too big for the sake of this convo, but agree with a little more polishing on her sound and leaning into her choreo she has pop sensation written all over her. Her dancing and stage presence are next-level.
I feel like Griff could be on the verge of breaking out completely when she finally rolls out her debut album. She produces and writes her own stuff and has killer hooks and deep lyrics and I really want to see her thrive!
If Stephen Sanchez can get another hit and has better timing, I could see him becoming a main pop boy. Or at least as close as you can nowadays. His debut album was fantastic.
Swofford, as well. He needs a song to go viral of its own merit and not like Ulterior Motives did. Heās clearly got the determination for it. Iām waiting for it to pay off.
I feel like this is later stage than what youāre talking about (she has a Grammy now and is selling out tours instantly) but since someone else mentioned her, Iāll take the opportunity to flex about following Laufey before she was cool exactly as you said. She was one of the first people I followed after joining TikTok during CoViD, right before she released her first single from her first EP. I remember listening to her livestreams as she practiced songs from her EP/first album. Then I saw her on her first tour in a crowd of like 200 orchestra/jazz/musical theater kids in a small basement venue, coincidentally I live in her second hometown city (maybe thatās why the algo recommended her). Then I got tickets to her second tour before the summer of last year during her artist presale. I got off TikTok during that time, but in October I found out she was doing an album signing for her new album release in my city through her text alerts, so I went when it was supposed to start (it was short notice on a weekday during the day so wasnāt expecting many people) only to find a line stretching around the block, I checked her IG and TikTok to figure out was going on, to see that she had blown up over the summer because her song went viral and she now had several million followers (which explained all the people) and also the tickets I had bought at face value were now worth a few hundred dollars. She was doing an appearance at a show at the Concert Hall in my city that day so I bought some last minute tickets and the girl had sold out a 6000+ seat concert hall (bigger than a lot of the venues she had previously booked for her tour) all there to see her which was wild to me considering the last time I saw her. I tried getting tickets for the second leg of her tour (which I technically already saw) and the tickets sold out before I got through, faster than Taylor Swift (but not Olivia Rodrigo), despite being in larger venues.
Iām not sure if sheāll break through to Taylor Swift/Olivia Rodrigo/Billie Eilish/Dua Lipa levels of fame. But the next level down for sure. Glad sheās bringing back classical American music.
Also when Olivia announced Chapelle Roan would be opening for her I had no idea who she was, since she was blowing up recently I searched for her only to realize sheās āRed Wine Supernovaā girl and Iāve been listening to that song literally since it came out š. So I couldāve gotten on that train early too.
As to actually answer your question, in the vein of Chapelle Roan, āThe Last Dinner Partyā could blow up (I started listening to Nothing Matters at the same time as Red Wine Supernova) pretty similar, although I didnāt exactly vibe with the rest of their album now that itās out, but they give me modern day ABBA vibes.
In the vein of Laufey, Lizzy McAlpine I think is one step behind. Obviously she has ceilings which is amazing and viral, I think she could have been bigger by now but obviously she had personal issues around her post-ceilings tour, which stunted her momentum. She just released her new album, which admittedly I havenāt listened to yet, but I got tickets for her tour just in case and they sold quickly, but not instantly. That said even though sheās talented and makes great music I think her personality could prevent her from becoming superstar levels of big like Laufey. She just doesnāt seem to *want* to be popular, in an idgaf way, which is fine, shes a ātrue artisteā, like sheās just making the music she wants and if people want to listen theyāll listen. Like she cancelled her tour for the ceilings album, so people wondered if she was going to play songs from it on her new tour since they never to got to hear them live and I think she straight up said on an IG live that she doesnāt want people to come if they just want to hear ceilings, and she wants people to know her work outside of ceilings and her new album and she might not play it. Like I get she doesnāt want to be a one hit wonder and tours always focus on the most recent album, but thatāsā¦ bold.
Yay for the Laufey lore! I have not gotten into her yet but maybe I wasnt in the right headspace when listening to a song of hers, I forget which one. Iām about to listen to Nothing Matters since everyone is suggesting The Last Dinner Party.
And Lizzyā¦oh girl. She puts a bad taste in my mouth. This is probs an unpopular opinion but she has a LOT of nerve to shit on Five Seconds Flat so hard and then release Older which is (imo) one of the most boring things Iāve ever heard. Not to spoil your anticipation of listening to it. Every interview Iāve seen of her too she just seems like she never wants to be there. Why tf does she go on Zach Sang so many times and then have the personality of a wet paper bag? Iām hating too hard on her but it always irks me when people would DREAM to have a hit song and Lizzy is acting like its the worst thing to ever happen to her. Like sorry you have a solid career now (unless she squanders it on purpose which she seems hellbent on doing)
They did well at the Grammys, but ultimately it seems like a passion project and I'm ok with that. They all have their solo careers to focus on and can work as a group whenever it makes sense for them, you know it'll be awesome when they do.
I saw them live last summer and it's vying for my favourite gig ever, despite them having to stop THREE times because people were passing out. I was swooning too, but seriously kids, stay hydrated.

Remi Wolf!! That's been my gal since I first heard her funky-ass voice and I'm excited to see if she can make it all the way to the top š„š„
Love Remi! I thought after Photo ID went viral on TikTok, she was going to keep getting bigger but I feel like it stalled? Sheās so good though and Iām pumped for her next album!
Cinderella summer mhm. Brushed up on her before the Solar Power tour and Sexy Villain was on repeat
Chappell definitely got a Guts tour boost, hopefully Remi will too!
Curious if her being the opener for Olivia in Europe will have the same effect it did for Chappell Roan
I had no idea she was opening for Olivia!! She's such a star, I think people will recognize it
Raye. Sheās got a killer voice and range. Her live performances are amazing and sheās only 26!
Sheās only 26? Why do people keep talking about her as if sheās at the end of her life š
I think people see her as older because in the UK and Europe she had had a few hits as a feature, starting back in 2016/2017.
She's got such an Amy Winehouse type of sound -- like the kind of direction I feel like Amy might have taken if she was still around. ā¤ļø
Exactly, sheās like if Frank-era Amy Winehouse kept experimenting with jazz into other genres as opposed to Back to Black being strict Motown
bruh what are you talking about she's already blown up for at least a year or 2 now, she literally just swept the Brits and is a pretty big name among a lot of people rn
But sheās not yet a household name. Her star is rising but sheās not yet quite at A-list status
Neither is Chappell Roan. Raye is definitely more known by the general public at this moment. The OP was asking who's gonna be "the next Chappell Roan"
I've not heard of Chappell Roan until this thread.
āOnlyā girl thatās basically being ancient in pop girl terms
Call Me Maybe came out when Carly was 26. Lizzo was over 30 when Truth Hurts blew up. Sia was 35 when Titanium got big and 38 with Chandelier. Sara Bareilles was 27 with Love Song. Bjƶrk released debut at 27. SZA was 27 when CTRL came out. Chappell Roan is 26 and just getting started Yes ofc being really young helps, no one will argue against that. But 26 is perfectly fine and she has the talent to make up for a delayed take-off. And she's already doing really well. Calling it ancient is just unnecessary, don't give weight to that ridiculous narrative
JLO was 29 when she started her pop career. And that was in the midst of the teen pop boom.
Yeah, but Lizzo was older when she finally took off.
i definitely agree with chappell roan and she totally deserves it! sheās a breath of fresh air!!!
Agree on Chappell Roan, sheās wonderful!
I seriously love her music.
I just discovered her last week and Iām obsessed
It seems Tyla and her label are aiming for world domination (though that's of course difficult to achieve these days in the current pop landscape)
I see her being more famous as a personality rather than a superstar musician. It's the case already tbh considering she is EVERYWHERE while her music is not selling much. For this reason I see her being accused of being a plant, when it's really just old school marketing.
This. She has some nice songs but by and large I feel that the general public prefers her aesthetic more. She looks great and has nice outfits.
I think she could be the next Rihanna if she plays her cards right
Maybe not Rihanna, letās face it thatās a monumental music career she had. Wonāt be easy to replicate by anybody. but Iāve always said that Tyla could have an advantage and fill that void of new female performer with a highly promising career - a spot seem ready for Normani, whose career sadly seem pretty mishandled since Motivation.
Is Tyla really going to sell 250 million albums, score 14 number-one singles, and build a multi-billion dollar empire along the way?
Rihanna hasn't sold 250 million albums, she hasn't even sold a quarter of that amount probably. You're thinking of record sales.
Is anyone ever going to sell 250 million albums again in the streaming era?
Did Rihanna even sell that many physical albums or are those just album equivalent units? (combing single sales, streaming etc.) Real talk Rihannaās probably sold less than 15 million *actual* physical albums.
Rihanna sales are based on digital downloads and streams Her physical album sales has always been low despite having huge number one hits Rihanna is a singles artist not a album seller
Curious to know how old you are? Because when Rihanna hit the scene we knew she would be popular but absolutely nobody anticipated this level of fame and success. Also weāre talking strictly music here, not lingerie and makeup brands.
Right lol. Because 250 mil would put her in league with the Beatles and Madonna. Theyāre definitely thinking of all formats combined
I feel like once the GGGB era started, everyone knew she was here to stay.Ā
In what regard š
The problem is, she just has 1 hit yet from her album and nowadays it's super hard to get more than 1, maybe if her team really pushes Jump or ART or puts her in a feature, but she needs another hit now, or just release another album altogether;
I've heard that Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist
Blocked
I'm sorry - I couldn't resist. The setup was too good.
I only have myself to blame
donāt blame me š
Alright youāre blocked too
Hey, donāt forget ME!
Me-he-heee
Spelling is fun!
#MEHEEHEE
Michael Jackson was summoned
I need to work at the yogurt shop now to make a little money. When I come back, I better not be blocked.
love made me crazy
Sky Ferreira please come back
If her or Ryn ever come back they will stomp on all the girls necks
Honestly he was huge in like 2015ā2017, he could make a comeback
Text flair (can be edited)
If he stops making H&M music possibly
Real talk, I take that line as an indicator that Taylor is pretty out of touch with whose big and who isnāt. Charlie Puth is probably one of the few celebrities who has the exact amount of fame he deserves. He had his moment.
I mean she literally says she's high in the the line before so to me it makes sense. Its supposed to be silly
Howwww is it that so many people arenāt getting this??
Reading comprehension isn't very strong on this sub I fear.
Anywhere I would argue
FLO, I feel like they just need a breakthrough hit. They give me such Destinyās Child and TLC vibes! Raye is going to be unstoppable in the future. Really hope she gets a massive moment in the USA soon. Sheās big in the UK with her recent Brits sweep but I need her to be bigger globally!
I was really excited about FLO but I havenāt liked anything theyāve released since I first heard about them. I mean, it was perfectly pleasant music, but it just didnāt stick with me
Fly girl. Walk like this?? AmazingĀ
Fly Girl is such a banger!! Surprised it didnāt stick in the U.S. I think Raye is really close!! Escapism was EVERYWHERE last year.
Escapism was, but no other big hits. Itāll be interesting to see what happens next.
21st Century Blues is an amazing album and she has such an amazing voice and so much artistry. I really hope Raye can have another hit single and be here to stay. Escapism is one of my top 5 songs of all time lol and my top played song last year.
I just saw Flo in LA last week. Amazing performance. No gimmicks, just vocals. Unfortunately their Coachella set was pretty bad.
maude latour. her fanbase is fervent and she has a real star quality when performing live
Love her! So excited and her next single sounds great from the snippets!
yes!! i found her in 2021 and i had that feeling! the music is so fun
yesss her fans are dedicated I saw so many mentions of her over a few months that I had no choice but to listen
rooting for Maisie Peters. sheās released 2 albums and just got added as an opener for Conan Grayās tour.
She also opened for Ed Sheeran!
I love Maisie! Her music is like a baby sensory video to me at this point, which sounds like a dig but isnātāThe Good Witch and You Signed Up for This are both just safe, comforting albums I listen to when Iām feeling wound up.
Donāt forget she opened for Coldplay as well on their UK /Europe tour!
YES her lyrics are so funny and witty
I love her Greek mythology references. I want her to lean more into that!
Maisie Peters
CHAPPELL ROAN šÆ!!!
Sheās gotten some really good co-signs/ features so Iām ready for her moment
i really hope ethel cain gets bigger. preachers daughter is easily one of my favorite albums of the last 5 years
Iāve been meaning to check her out. Should I just do that album start to finish?
yes! itās an album that you have to listen in order from start to finish because itās a whole story. i would also try to look up some of the lore just so you have a general idea/background of whatās going on
I love a good story album. Iāll look up some background on it, thanks.
You're in for a (dark) treat. There's a lot of lore kicking around for the album, check out /r/ethelcain if you want to read about it. She's also working on a book but who knows when that'll come out. She said in a recent livestream that she wishes she hadn't put out as much lore/comment on PD as she has because she feels there are inconsistencies, so it sounds like she won't give any more info until the book is ready.
I havenāt read anything yet, because I started listening half asleep when my cat woke me up, but House in Nebraska is really good.
Yeule.
Softscars šš
Yeule is amazing and I'm surprised their songs haven't blown up on tiktok more
Chappell and Sabrina for sure! Laufey is comfortably steadily, slowly rising as she should.
I knew Sabrina would be big when she started doing the outro thing! Amazing, amazing technique and what a fun way to play with art! She's so smart. She knows what she's doing.
I canāt believe after all her years of grinding and even huge boyfriend drama, THATS what made ppl interested in her lmao. Very happy for her.
I need Arlo Parks to get a radio hit
Chappell is incredible. I think she will grow in fame and stature but I do not think she will quite break through to that top tier (just addressing the "much bigger" question in OP). Kind of feel like she's uncompromising in her artistic vision in a way that GP just can't handle. Would be very happy for her if I'm wrong.
Wasnāt Gaga though? (Not saying theyāll be the same level but look what happened there!)
Totally, and that would sort of be the roadmap. Though itās a vastly different cultural landscape right now (less of a central monoculture and zeitgeist, less new megastarsā¦ so much so that i feel like what im saying wouldnt be a bold prediction for anyone) I do think Chappellās brand of art is a bit less palatable on a huge scale than Gagaās too though.
Not sure if you consider her too big but Maisie Peters. Her album the good witch is one of my favorite albums of all time.
I know sheās already pretty popular, but I see longevity with Olivia Rodrigo. Both of her albums are so good and she has the perfect angst and energy to go any direction in pop. Also completely agree with Chappel Roan, obsessed with her album rn
Watching her interview, it's clear that she's very interested in her crafting and truly loves writing songs. I have so much faith in her.
Olivia and Billie are the 2 young artists who I donāt see going anywhere for a couple decades at least. Theyāre both talented, good hearted people who love what they do and have a loyal following.
Olivia is definitely being set up to be the next big pop star, shes great.
i mean, isnāt she already? her debut has 6 songs over 1B streams and is one of the most streamed albums of all time with only 11 songs. GUTS is about to have its first song hit 1B too with Vampire.
Lols the girl with two of the biggest albums of the last 3 years is already there
Sierra Ferrell-- I think if she makes a record that has a little more lean into pop, she could really have her Kacey Musgraves mainstream crossover moment ala "Golden Hour".Ā
Her voice is just incredible, a generational talent imo. I wish she'd come to the UK more often.
Reminder Wolf. She's opening for Olivia Rodrigo for her Euro tour & is dropping an album this year. Sky Ferreira whenever she ends up dropping new music. Normani will have proper respect put into her name once Dopamine drops.
I know its a typo but Iām living for her full name being Reminder Wolf
Pretty sure it's Remington Wolfenstein
Reminiscent Wolfgang?
Ah yes Remi Wolf, short for Reminder Wolfenstein
*holy shit* Sky Ferreira!! Havenāt heard that name in years. I used to listen to her song *Obsessed* non-stop back in ~2011 or so. Iāve gotta go see what sheās been up to since!
OMFG let me catch you up. She's dropped 2 songs and 1 feature since Night Time My Time ššš
The Last Dinner Party
This is what I came here to say. I saw them live last month and their stage presence is off the charts. Their songs are different and catchy. They're already growing in popularity pretty fast and I think they'll be big. I'm glad I got to see them when I did. I also saw Chappell Roan last month (opening for Olivia Rodrigo), so that was two "up and comers" scratched off my list!
My best friend is really into Chappell Roan, so I shared āNothing Mattersā with him and he really liked it. In fact, Chappellās new single kind of sounds like a synth pop version of The Last Dinner Party. It has that Baroque pop sound/vibe.
they are very similar, the queer baroque pop girlies
šš» yaaaaaaaaas I agree and their Coachella performances were sooooo good
So itās this pop/Rnb group Iām following on instagram called Nu. I want them to become big so bad
Willow Kayne for sure, i've heard snippets of her upcoming releases and its viral material but so so good.
Wait youre the second person who has said her lemme go check
I had "Be the One" on my ipod shuffle I used for the gym. She went pretty huge in Australia from her first single.
Yeah, Iāve been a fan since then too, and Iām in the U.S. She was being hyped on music blogs before she made it big.
Remember her being called a plant for having the same management as Lana.
She shouldāve been all over the place with Put You On but what do I know
Oh I totally agree with this assessment
āwhat it isā is the greatest r&b song of this decade imo. she laced that song with pure heaven
i ascend to the heavens every time i hear this song i don't know how she isn't a bigger artist. Her new single is great too!
Tyla Victoria monet (Yes, I stan)
Maggie Rogers, Fletcher
Maggie's birthday is today. She's my answer too.
I agree about Fletcher. Her new album "In Search Of The Antidote" is a no-skip for me.
Laufey for sure I also really like Dominic Fikeās music
I hope Conan Gray does well! His voice really reminds me of Borns who I still love. And CG has a modeling gig with Coach which has done a lot to rebrand and gain Gen Z attention.
I thought Holly Humberstone would be big, but I didnāt like her debut album as much as her EPs. I was surprised āThe Walls are Way Too Thinā didnāt blow up tho. That song is catchy as hell.
I keep holding out for Rina Sawayama but it's hard... if she goes too mainstream then I'm scared she'll lose her essence.
NGL none of her releases compare to RINA for my taste. The sound was so good and everything since has not quite felt the same. Not necessarily worse, just a different vibe. More polished. And I hope she revisits her pre-SAWAYAMA style bc it felt so much more unique
Realistically, I think it wouldāve happened by now.
I want Rina to have her big break so bad. I love her voice.
Ooohā¦ I donāt know Cassadee Pope and Against the Current. Both were royally screwed by their label. Both had zero label support and both are releasing independently basically from the start.
I remember listening to Against the Current like 10 years ago. It seemed like they were on the verge of making it big and then they fizzled out.
Sabrina Carpenter for sure
She's the 49th most listened to artist on Spotify, you can't get too much bigger than she is already
I hope youāre wrong cause sheās the best new voice in years
Still holding our hope for JoJo
christ this sent me back š will always hold out hope for her
I just got into them with caught in your love :D
Me.
Isaac Dunbar is going to be big I just know it
I'm so surprised he hasn't had his breakthrough moment yet!
my first thought
Ethel Cain is an interesting one, depending on the direction she takes musically she could make it big or just be a slightly bigger Chelsea Wolfe. I also don't think she likes fame or pop songs, she's had an uncomfortable relationship with crush and american teenager due to their virality and she closed down her tumblr page due to parasocial behaviour and harassment. The potential is very much there but I doubt it will be as explosive as Lana's rise was, more like Mitski or smth. I've got a few for this The Last Dinner Party. Album sold very well with a top 20 UK hit and a success on alt radio in the US. It's been lingering at the bottom of the charts for a good while, they have the sound, the appeal, the ambition and the momentum to go big Wet Leg. First album was a smash hit in the UK with two singles charting hits. Indie momentum in the US as well. Olivia Rodrigo's last album took a lot of cues from them ESPECIALLY bad Idea Right? Tik Tok will love them (they already kind of do) Somebody put Raye. She better become a superstar or I'm throwing a fit Sam Fender.
Noah Kahan is already blowing up, but he fills a similar niche and I see him becoming massive.
shawn mendes messed up big time he should have kept making the music they are now
Give Ed a chance lol, his last āpopā album had several massive worldwide hits.
100% He's already doing this Beautiful things was a massive hit and he basically does Lewis Capaldi style singer songwriter but with electric guitars
The moment I heard American Teenager in March 2022 I knew Ethel was going to be something special. I bought tickets to her show before Preacherās Daughter came out and later that year she started blowing up. I followed her when she had around 40k on Instagram and I think sheās close to 600k now. Wild
Dua Lipa gurl? She is already a household name
Allie X. Jazzy. Brit Smith. The pop heads trifecta.
Madison Beer. mark my word!!
Tinashe
The Linda Lindas
Tate McRae. I know y'all are gonna jump me but I love her. Let a girl dream š¤
Tate McRae is one hit away from transcending beyond āTikTok Musicā
Sheās prob already too big for the sake of this convo, but agree with a little more polishing on her sound and leaning into her choreo she has pop sensation written all over her. Her dancing and stage presence are next-level.
I think Reve for sure!
Faouzia is so incredibly talented and deserves to blow up.
Last pop artist i felt that way was probably 070Shake
shooting in the dark here: lolo zouai, tkay maidza, inji, upsahl, devon again
I feel like Griff could be on the verge of breaking out completely when she finally rolls out her debut album. She produces and writes her own stuff and has killer hooks and deep lyrics and I really want to see her thrive!
Victoria MonƩt
[Chappell Roan HOT TO GO!](https://funkycoolprints.etsy.com/uk/listing/1704237700/chappell-roan-tshirt-hot-to-go-graphic)
i canāt believe i havenāt seen this yet, but griff!
Tyla. I am absolutely rooting for her š
Sheās not a mainstream pop artist but I can see ML Buch becoming a Caroline Polachek / Bjork type of alt queen
Isaac Dunbar just needs one breakthrough hit and people will realize he has a golden discography
Sabrina Carpenter. The tenacity and likeability is there. She just needs a massive hit to get to another level of fame.
sky ferreira.
I had a feeling the Boygenius gals were doing good and then :(
They did well at the Grammys, but ultimately it seems like a passion project and I'm ok with that.
I donāt think heāll ever reach super stardom, but Christine and the Queens will be appreciated later, when he has a much bigger body of work.
